To study the.influe.ce.of p.llute. air-mass transp.rt carrying ozone.（O3） and black carbon （BC） in the.high Himalayas, since.March 2006 the.Ne.0}l Climate.Obse.vatory at p.ramid （NCO-p. GAW-WMO global station （Ne.0}l, 5079 m a.s.l.） is op.rative. During the.first 5-ye.r me.sure.e.ts, the.O3 and BC conce.trations have.shown a me.n value.of 48 ± 12 p.b （± standard de.iation） and 208 ± 374 ng/m3, re.p.ctive.y. Both O3 and BC showe. we.l de.ine. se.sonal cycle. with maxima during p.e.monsoon （O3 ： 61.3 ± 7.7 p.bV; BC： 444 ± 433 ng/m3） and minima during the.summe. monsoon （O3 ： 40.1 ± 12.4 p.bV; BC： 64 ± 101 ng/m3）. The.analysis of the.days characte.ise. by the.p.e.e.ce.of a significant BC incre.se.with re.p.ct to the.typ.cal se.sonal cycle.ide.tifie. 156 days affe.te. by ＂acute. p.llution e.e.ts, corre.p.nding to 9.1% of the.e.tire.data-se.. Such e.e.ts mostly occur in the.p.e.monsoon p.riod, whe. the.O3 diurnal variability is strongly re.ate. to the.transp.rt of p.llute. air-mass rich on BC.
