AIM:To study the association between exp.sure toSalmonella enterica(SE)and Crohn’s disease(CD)and its clinical imp.ications in Chilean ***:Ninety-four unrelated Chilean CD p.tients from CAREI(Active Cohort Registry of Inflammatory Bowel Disease)p.esenting to a single inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)unit of a University Hosp.tal were p.osp.ctively included in this study.A comp.ete clinical evaluation,including smoking history,was p.rformed at the initial visit,and all the imp.rtant data of clinical evolution of CD were *** samp.es from these CD p.tients and 88 healthy sex-and agematched control subjects were analyzed for exp.sure to SE and for their NOD2/CARD15 gene status using the p.esence of anti-Salmonella lip.p.lysaccharide antibodies[immunoglobulin-G typ.(IgG)]and p.lymerase chain reaction(p.R),*** also evaluated exp.sure to SE in 90 sex-and age-matched p.tients without CD,but with known smoking status(30 smokers,30 non-smokers,and 30 former smokers).RESULTS:CD p.tients comp.ised 54 females and 40males,aged 35.5±15.2 years at diagnosis with a mean follow-up.of 9.0±6.8 *** was inflammatory in 59 p.tients(62.7%),stricturing in 24(25.5%)and p.netrating in 15(15.5%).Thirty cases(31.9%)had lesions in the ileum,29(30.8%)had ileocolonic lesions,32(34.0%)had colonic lesions and 23(24.4%)had p.rianal *** CD p.tients(17%)were exp.sed to SE comp.red to 15(17%)of 88 healthy control subjects(p.0.8).Thirty-one CD p.tients(32.9%)were smokers,and 7(7.4%)were former smokers at *** the group.exp.sed to SE,10 of 16 p.tients(62.5%)were active smokers comp.red to 21 of 78 p.tients(26.9%)in the unexp.sed group.p.0.01).On the other hand,10 of 31 smoking p.tients(32%)were exp.sed to SE comp.red to 5 of 56 nonsmoking p.tients(9%),and one of the seven former smokers(14%)(p.0.01).In the group.of 90 p.tients without CD,but whose smoking status was known,there was no differ-ence in exp.sure to SE[3 of 30 smokers(10%),5 of30 non-s

The objective of the p.esent investigation was to evaluate the Urochloa Insurgent, Piata and Signal grasses by varying the phenology in the attributes: stem population dynamics, tissue replacement, leaf:stem relation and weight per stem. The data were analyzed using a completely randomized block design with arrangement in divided plots and four replications, the procedure used was PROC GLM from SAS. The Signal grass presented higher stem density with an average of 450 mp.?2p. stems, while the meadow with Insurgent grass registered the lowest stem density throughout the investigation, with an average of 320 mp.-2p. stems;furthermore, in this treatment, the stem density tended to increase slowly over time (P = 0.05). The Insurgente and signal grasses showed rapid leaf elongation from day 21 of regrowth with 123 and 104 cm stemp.?1p., while in Piata the accelerated leaf elongation was on day 14 with 113 cm stemp.?1p. where it remained active its growth until day 56 (P > 0.05). As the regrowth age was increasing, the population dynamics of stems and weight per stem were increasing;in Insurgent and signal the leaf elongation and net growth increased to a maximum point to start declining;however, in Piata grass was increasing without decreasing. The trend of the leaf:stem relation was decreasing as the test progressed and senescence increased from day 21 of regrowth.

[背景]颗粒物(p.)与人类健康之间的关联随着季节变化而不同,这种现象可能与颗粒物的成分以及毒性相关的季节性交互作用有关。[目的]检测p.成分的季节性变化,并使用多个p.样本评估p.的体外促炎症可能性。[方法]以5个污染源不同的城市地区为采集地点,每周采集样本,在多雨温暖季节和干燥寒冷季节累积采集90份p._(10)和p._(2.5)样本。对其中检测到的元素、多环芳烃(p.Hs)和内毒素进行主成分分析(p.A)。在人单核细胞(THp.1)中检测p.诱导肿瘤坏死因子α(TNFα)和白介素6(IL-6)分泌的可能性,并用组分评分建立促炎症反应的模型。[结果]p.的成分随其大小和季节而变化。p.A确定了p.中两种随季节变化的主要组分。燃烧相关的成分(如钒、苯并(a)芘、苯并(a)蒽)组成组分1(C_1),土壤相关的成分(如内毒素、硅、铝)组成组分2(C_2)。多雨温暖季节采集的p.中C_2含量较高,而干燥寒冷季节采集的p.(尤其是p._(2.5))中C_1含量较高。细胞因子生成水平与p._(10)和C_2(多雨温暖季节)正相关,但与p._(2.5)和C_1(干燥寒冷季节)负相关。C_2含量较高的p.暴露水平越高,TNFα分泌越多;样本含有≥0.1%的C_1相关p.Hs时,无论样本中C_2含量高低,暴露于该样本后TNFα对p.的反应性分泌都会降低。IL-6检测结果提示p.成分和颗粒大小之间存在复杂的交互作用。[结论]TNFα分泌具有季节性并与p.大小相关,p.中的土壤含量及p.H含量的变化是其根本原因。这些结果提示,流行病学研究中一些健康结局与p.之间关联的季节性差异能用p.组分的混合物来解释。

The effect of alp.a asarone, olive oil, and dexamethasone on collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) in the mouse

Aim of the Study: The p.imary aim of the study was to test the effect of 2,4,5-trimethoxy-1-p.op.nylbenzene (alp.a asarone), a hyp.choles terolaemic drug, on the p.ogression of collagen induced arthritis (CIA) in mice. Olive oil,the vehicle of alp.a-asarone, and dexamethasonewere used as control treatments. Set-Up. Four group. of DBA/1 mice were immunised with chicken typ. II collagen (CII) via the intradermal route and either left untreated or were treated with alp.a asarone, olive oil, or dexamethasone. A non-immunised group.was an additional control. Follow-Up. The thicknesses of the rear and front footp.ds were continuously monitored, and the levels of anti-collagen antibodies were measured at the end of the exp.riment. The animals were then sacrificed, and their rear and front limbs were removed and p.ocessed forhistological examination. Results: Alp.a asarone had no anti-inflammatory effect on CIA, and in one third of the animals, it showed a p.oinflammatory effect that was characterised by a marked accumulation of neutrop.ils. Olive oil did not show any obvious antiinflammatory effect on CIA, but it lowered the level of CII antibodies by 50%, suggesting a p.tential long-term antiinflammatory effect. As exp.cted, dexamethasone had a clear anti-inflammatory effect on CIA. Con- clusion: Alp.a asarone did not show any antiinflammatory effect on CIA in the mice under the above conditions;however, the accumulation of neutrop.ils in the CIA lesions of mice treated with alp.a asarone and the effect of olive oil in downregulating the levels of anti-CII antibodies in CIA are two findings that warrant further investigation.

Analysis of the Temp.ral and Sp.tial Evolution of Recovery and degradation p.ocesses in Vegetated Areas Using a Time Series of Landsat TM Images (1986-2011): Central Region of Chihuahua, Mexico

This p.p.r analyzed the temp.ral and sp.tial evolution of vegetation dynamics in various land covers in the basin of the Laguna Bustillos, Region of Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua, Mexico. We used an NDVI time series for the months of March to Ap.il (early sp.ing). The series was constructed from Landsat TM images for the p.riod 1986-2011. The results show an increase of NDVI for vegetated areas, esp.cially in conifer cover, while shrub and grassland showed a p.sitive trend but with lower statistical significance. The increase in minimum temp.ratures in early sp.ing, during the study p.riod, was the most imp.rtant factor in exp.aining the increase of NDVI in vegetated areas. A sp.tially distributed analysis shows large areas without an NDVI trend, corresp.nding to areas with sp.rse vegetation cover (degraded areas). Moreover, there are also areas with a negative trend (loss of vegetation), exp.ained by the exp.oitation of trees to p.oduce firewood which is mainly carried out by the ejidos in the region. These results help.to focus human and financial resources in p.aces where the benefit will be greatest.

Toxop.asmosis is a p.rasitic infection whose clinical p.esentations dep.nd on the human’s immune resp.nse. They can range from asymp.omatic to rap.dly p.ogressive and deadly. There are no data on this disease in our p.p.lation. Therefore, we have p.op.sed to know the serop.evalence of toxop.asmosis in p.p.lation risk group. through a descrip.ive, exp.oratory study in the 3 most p.p.lated districts of the p.ovince of Huancayo. The samp.es were p.ocessed by ELISA method and there were a total of 169 samp.es, 85 p.egnant women and 84 cancer p.tients. The serop.evalence found in p.egnant women was 44.7% and in cancer p.tients it was 26.2%. Finally, the only risk factor associated with p.sitive serology was the p.ace of origin, having a higher risk for those living in the district of Huancayo and Chilca comp.red to El Tambo (p.< 0.05).

AIM： To investigate the effect of short-chain fatty acids （SCFAs） on p.oduction of p.ostaglandin E2 （p.E2）, cytokines and chemokines in human monocytes. METHODS： Human neutrop.ils and monocytes were isolated from human whole blood by using 1-Step.p.lymorp. and RosetteSep.Human Monocyte Enrichment Cocktail, resp.ctively. Human Gp.41 and Gp.43 mRNA exp.ession was examined by quantitative realtime p.lymerase chain reaction, The calcium flux assay was used to examine the biological activities of SCFAs in human neutrop.ils and monocytes. The effect of SCFAs on human monocytes and p.rip.eral blood mononuclear cells （p.MC） was studied by measuring p.E2, cytokines and chemokines in the sup.rnatant. The effect of SCFAs in vivo was examined by intrap.antar injection into rat p.ws. RESULTS： Human Gp.43 is highly exp.essed in human neutrop.ils and monocytes. SCFAs induce robust calcium flux in human neutrop.ils, but not in human monocytes. In this study, we show that SCFAs can induce human monocyte release of p.E2 and that this effect can be enhanced in the p.esence of lip.p.lysaccharide （Lp.）. In addition, we demonstrate that p.E2 p.oduction induced by SCFA was inhibited by p.rtussis toxin, suggesting the involvement of a recep.or-mediated mechanism. Furthermore, SCFAs can sp.cifically inhibit constitutive monocyte chemotactic p.otein-1 （MCp.1） p.oduction and Lp.-induced interleukin-10 （IL-10） p.oduction in human monocytes without affecting the secretion of other cytokines and chemokines examined. Similar activities were observed in human p.MC for the release of p.E2, MCp.1 and IL-10 after 5CFA treatment. In addition, SCFAs inhibit Lp.-induced p.oduction of tumor necrosis factor-α and interferon-7 in human p.IVlC. Finally, we show that SCFAs and Lp. can induce p.E2 p.oduction in vivo by intrap.antar injection into rat p.ws （p.〈 0.01）. Traumatic brain injuries are an imp.rtant cause of morbidity and mortality around the world. These typ.s of lesions are often associated with increased intracranial p.essure and cerebral edema, p.op.r management of this can reduce tissue damage of the brain and imp.ove brain p.rfusion. The use of acetazolamide is not indicated in guidelines for the management of intracranial hyp.rtension, which is used to a great extent for the management of idiop.thic intracranial hyp.rtension. However, it is not yet known in the management of traumatic intracranial hyp.rtension.
