The hybrid propulsion performed with paraffin waxes exhibits most attractive capabilities compared to solid or liquid engines,e.g.,throttleability and re-ignition,alongside higher regression rates compared to the conventional hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene(HTpB)hybrid *** is because the paraffin wax forms a thin and hydro-dynamically unstable liquid layer,and then enhances the regression rate with the entrainment of droplets from the liquid-gas ***,some critical open points on the manufacturing of the paraffin fuel grains still persist,because the paraffin wax exhibits high shrinkage during the solidification phase,leading to the formation of cavities,cracks and internal rips,which may be detrimental to the mechanical properties and the structural integrity of the fuel *** this context,this paper deals with a wide calorimetric,thermo-mechanical and physical characterization of the paraffin wax selected to manufacture the hybrid rocket engines(HRE)fuel grain,in order to gain a thorough knowledge of the material necessary to avoid the formation of critical *** manufacturing methods were investigated,and it was found that only laboratory scale processes,based on the use of a heated circular mould-piston apparatus,are able to avoid the formation of critical defects,with the application of both high temperature and pressure.

Growing evidence has highlighted that angiotensin-converting enzyme(ACE)-inhibitors(ACEi)/AT1 receptor blockers(ARBs)may influence the complex interplay between dopamine and the renin-angiotensin system in the nigrostriatal pathway,thus affecting the development of levodopa-induced dyskinesia in parkinson’s disease(pD).In the present study,we analyzed whether the use of this class of medication was associated with a reduced occurrence of levodopa-induced dyskinesia,using electronically-stored information of idiopathic pD patients enrolled at Novara University Hospital“Maggiore della Carità”.We conducted a retrospective case-control study identifying pD patients with dyskinesias(pwD;n=47)as *** each pwD we selected a non-dyskinetic control(NoD),nearly perfectly matched according to sex,Unified parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale(UpDRS)part III score,and duration of antiparkinsonian *** logistic regression was used to evaluate whether dyskinesias were associated with ACEi/ARBs ***-four pD patients were included,aged 72.18±9 years,with an average disease duration of 10.20±4.8 years and 9.04±4.9 years of antiparkinsonian *** mean UpDRS part III score was 18.87±7.6 and the median HY stage was *** the NoD group,25(53.2%)were users and 22(46.8%)non-users of ACEi/***,in the pwD group,11(23.4%)were users and 36 non-users(76.6%)of this drug class(pearson chi-square=8.824,p=0.003).Concerning general medication,there were no other statistically significant differences between *** controlling for tremor dominant phenotype,levodopa equivalent daily dose,HY 3-4,and disease duration,ACEi/ARBs use was a significant predictor of a lower occurrence of dyskinesia(OR=0.226,95%CI:0.080-0.636,p=0.005).Therefore,our study suggests that ACEi/ARBs may reduce levodopa-induced dyskinesia occurrence and,thanks to good tolerability and easy management,represent a feasible choice when dealing with the treatment of hypertension in pD patients.

Molecular mobility in thermotropic polyesters and side-chain polymers with different struc-ture of mesogens and spacers has been studied by dielectrical method in dilutesolutions. The results made it possible to establish the multiplicity of dielectric relaxationtransitions which reflects the small- and large-scale types of molecular motion. It was shownthat dielectric relaxation processes occurring in accordance with local mechanism (relaxationtimes 10^(-9)--10^(-7)s. and the activation energy 10--50kJ/mol) are due to the mobility of kineticchain elements of different length within a monomer units. It was found that the dielectricrelaxation process connected with a large-scale form of molecular motion (relaxation times10^(-5)--10^(-6)s. and the activation energy 100kJ/mol) did not depend on the molecular massbut was infiuenced by factors changing the conformational state of the macromolecule. It isestablished tha the cooperative reorientation mobility of associated mesogenic fragments isthe source of the large-scale process.

Methane cracking is considered a bridge technology between gray and green hydrogen production *** this work an experimental study of methane cracking in molten tin is *** tests were conducted in a quartz reactor(i.d.=1.5 cm,l=20 cm)with capillary injection,varying temperature(950–1070℃),inlet methane flow rate(30–60 ml·min^(-1))and tin height(0–20 cm).The influence of the residence time in the tin and in the headspace on methane conversion and on carbon morphology was *** conversions obtained in tin and in the empty reactor were measured and compared with results of detailed kinetic simulations(CRECK).Furthermore,an expression of a global kinetic constant for methane conversion in tin was also *** highest conversion(65%at Q_(0)=30 ml·min^(-1) and t=1070℃)is obtained for homogeneous gas phase reaction due to the long residence time(70 s),the presence of tin leads to a sharp decrease of residence time(1 s),obtaining a conversion of 35%at 1070℃,thus meaning that tin owns a role in the *** characterization(scanning electron microscopy,Raman)reported a change in carbon toward sheet-like structures and an increase of the carbon structural order in the presence of molten tin media.

Chemical growth process that favours deposition of semiconductor materials from a liquid phase was used to obtain CdS and HgxCd1-xS(0≤x≤0.25)photosensitive thin film electrodes on the stainless steel *** deposition of these series of thin films was carried out under the optimized conditions of temperature(60℃),time(90 min)and pH(10.8±0.2).These films were then employed as photosensitive electrode in an electrochemical photosensing cell consisting of sulphide/polysulphide redox electrolyte and a graphite counter *** cells were illuminated by an input illumination intensity of 13 mW/cm 2 and the cell characteristic parameters namely photocurrent(Iph),photo voltage(Vph),the quantum conversion efficiency(η%)and fill factor(ff %)have been *** Vph and Iph have been found to be boosted as the electrode composition is *** conversion efficiency and fill factor enhanced from 0.52%to 1.30%and 31.8%to 37.8%,respectively for the change of electrode composition from 0 to *** of junction ideality factor(nd)showed recombination mechanism at the electrode-electrolyte *** height measurements gave pool-Frenkel type conduction *** flat band potentials(Vfb)were determined for all the cells and found to be enhanced with x up to 0.08 and then decreased for further increase in *** lighted junction quality factor(nl)is increased from 1.49 to 2.94 as the photoelectrode composition(x)was varied from 0 to *** barrier heights(B)at the electrode/electrolyte interfaces were also *** is found that B is higher for a cell of electrode composition equal to *** spectral studies on these cells showed the cut off wavelength(λc)shifted from 530 nm to 800 *** transient response studies showed presence of surface states at the interface that causes Fermi-level ***,performance of the electrochemical photosensing cell is found to be improved after Hg-corboration in CdS and is optimum at x= 0.0

A liquid phase chemical bath deposition(lpCBD)method for deposition of pbS thin films is *** growth kinetics and reaction mechanism have been *** the deposition,triethanolamine complex of lead acetate was allowed to react with aqueous thiourea *** micro-slides were used as the *** deposition of pbS films was carried out under different growth parameters such as temperature,time,and reaction *** growth rate,under different conditions,was measured in terms of a terminal layer thickness and the possible reaction kinetics and mechanism is *** optimum values of the parameters to produce good quality films are 60 min,80℃and 10.5±*** EDS analysis showed that the film stoichiometry is dependent on the reaction pH and the films tend to be almost stoichiometric in high alkaline environment(>10.5).The pbS deposits appeared smooth,tightly adherent,uniform and reflecting with blackish-grey *** XRD studies showed crystalline cubic type of structure with preferred orientation along(200)*** calculated d-values,intensities of reflections and lattice parameter have excellent match with that of the JCpD *** crystallite size is found to be few tens of *** surface morphology revealed by SEM showed that the crystallites are randomly oriented and are of different shapes and *** of the crystallites appeared smaller and spherical in shape whereas,growth of some elongated irregular crystallites;bit larger in size and differing in shapes,have also been favoured.

Cyclic deformation behavior of friction-stir-welded dissimilar AA2024-T351 to AA7075-T65 aluminum alloy joints was evaluated via stepwise tests at different strain rates,along with transmission electron microscopy examinations to characterize the precipitates required to assess internal *** backscatter diffraction was employed to observe the inhomogeneous microstructures of the FSWed *** localization appeared in the heat affected zone(HAZ)of AA2024 *** cyclic deformation of 500 cycles at a total strain amplitude of 0.5%,the strength of the dissimilar joints resumed basically to that of AA2024 base *** the AA2024 HAZ was obviously hardened,which should be attributed to the introduced dislocations during cyclic deformation *** hardening capacity of the joints increased with decreasing strain rate.
