CO2 adsorption on the surface of hydrotalcite-derived mixed oxide catalysts was investigated under low pressure glow discharge plasma in opercindo conditions via FT-IR *** catalysts were promoted with various transition metal species(Ce,Fe,La,Zr)to influence their physico-chemical *** and Zr species were successfully incorporated into hydrotalcite brucite *** calcination formed a single phase with Ni(Mg,A1)O mixed oxide,while La and Ce species formed separate *** had a consequence in the distribution of surface basic sites as well as in the affinity to CO produced upon CO2 dissociation in *** treatment activated the surface of prepared materials and changed their properties via the generation of strong basic sites associated with low coordinated surface oxygen ***,the CO2 adsorption capacity of prepared materials increased after plasma treatment.

Impact pile driving is an interesting technique for the construction of deep foundations from a practical and economical point of ***,the generalization of this technique can be restricted due to the excessive vibration levels that can be generated,which can be especially problematic in residential ***,different mitigation measures can be applied to prevent excessive vibration levels inside buildings located near construction *** compare its efficiency through a numerical prediction tool,two experimental test sites are first presented and *** the results obtained,it was found that the construction of an open trench near the impact source can be used as an efficient mitigation measure to reduce the maximum vibration levels evaluated in this study.

The temperature-dependent effective thermal conductivity of UN-X-UO_(2)(X=Mo,W)nuclear fuel composite was *** the experimental design,the thermal conductivity was calculated using Finite Element Modeling(FEM),and compared with analytical models for 10%,30%,50%,and 70%(in mass)uncoated/coated UN microspheres in a UO_(2) *** FEM results show an increase in the fuel thermal conductivity as the mass fraction of the UN microspheres increases from 1.2 to 4.6 times the UO_(2) reference at 2,000 *** results from analytical models agree with the thermal conductivity estimated by *** results also show that Mo and W coatings have similar thermal behaviors,and the coating thickness influences the thermal conductivity of the *** higher weight fractions,the thermal conductivity of the fuel composite at room temperature is substantially influenced by the high thermal conductivity coatings approaching that of ***,the thermal conductivity from FEM was used in the fuel thermal performance evaluation during LWR normal operation to calculate the maximum centerline *** results show a significant decrease in the fuel maximum centerline temperature ranging from−94 K for 10% UN to−414 K for 70%(in mass)UN compared to UO_(2) under the same operating conditions.

Objective To evaluate the efficiency of silymarin(SMN) in modulating metabolic parameters and redox status in rats with type 1 diabetes mellitus(T1 DM).Methods Diabetes was induced by intraperitoneal injection of alloxan. The diabetic rats were administered with SMN at doses of 50 and 100 mg/kg body weight/d for 30 consecutive days. The rats were divided into the following four groups: vehicle control, diabetic(alloxan-treated), DS50(alloxan +50 mg/kg body weight/d of SMN), and DS100(alloxan + 100 mg/kg body weight/d of SMN) groups. The bodyweight and food and water intake were evaluated. After 30 d, the animals were euthanized and the blood was collected for measuring the serum levels of glucose, triacylglycerol(TAG), urea, and creatinine. The liver and pancreas were collected for measuring the activities of superoxide dismutase(SOD) and catalase(CAT), and the levels of carbonylated protein(pC). The pancreas sample was also used for histological *** SMN reduced hepatic(p pancreatic(p protein damage and creatinine levels(p = 0.0141) in addition to decreasing food(p p prove beta-cell function or decrease blood glucose levels in diabetic *** SMN improved polyphagia and polydipsia, renal function, and protected the liver and pancreas against protein damage without affecting hyperglycemia in diabetic animals.

Raman Spectra of Nd:La3Ga5SiO14 and Nd:La3Ga5.5Ta0.5O14 Crystals

Single crystals of Nd：La3Ga5SiO14 （NLGS） and Nd：La3Ga5.5Ta0.5O14 （NLGT） were grown by Czochralski method. Both crystals exhibit a langasite structure （space group D32 （p321） with Z = 1）, whose general formula is A3BC2D3O14, where A, B, C and D represent the dodecahedral, octahedral and tetrahedral positions, respectively. The adding of low content of Nd does not change the crystal structure. Although they are isostructural, the distribution of atoms among the symmetric sites is different. While NLGT exhibits a perfect orderly structure, NLGS exhibits an intrinsically disordered structure due to the random distribution of Ga and Si atoms at the C3（2） symmetry sites. To understand what changes occur in the phonon distribution when Ta replaces Si, we recorded and analyzed room temperature polarized Raman spectra. We observe 8A1＋18E modes for NLGS and 10A1＋13E for NLGT crystals. When Si is substituted by Ta, we observe that the wavenumber of some modes related to vibrations involving Ga and O atoms decreases. This agrees with the fact that the Ga–O bonds are shorter in NLGS than in NLGT.

The Accounting Standardization System for public Administrations （SNC-Ap） was approved by Decree-Law No. 192/2015, of September 11 and constituted the new accounting system for public administrations in portugal, which will take effect from January 1, 2017, although there were pilot entities that are already applying it in the year 2016. The reasons for the approval of these accounting regulations are presented in the approval diploma itself, the existence of a strong fragmentation and outdated accounting standardization for the public sector. This paper intends to analyze the public accounting reform in portugal based on the SNC-Ap and the impacts that it will determine in public institutions in terms of accounting in relation to the previous pOC-p regime and sectoral plans as well as the resources involved in the Implementation. Likewise, it is intended to assess whether all public bodies subject to its adoption will proceed to its implementation on January 1, 2017, as planned. For this purpose, the data available on this subject will be used, in particular those of the Directorate-General for the Budget of the Ministry of Finance.

Deep foundations are currently used in engineering practice to solve problems caused by weak geotechnical characteristics of the *** pile driving is an interesting and viable solution from economic and technical points of ***,it is necessary to ensure that the environmental drawbacks,namely ground-borne vibration,are adequately *** this purpose,the authors propose an axisymmetric finite element method-perfectly matched layer(FEM-pML)approach,where the nonlinear behavior of the soil is addressed through an equivalent linear *** the complexity of the problem,an experimental test site was developed and fully *** experimental work comprised in-situ and laboratory soil characterization,as well as the measurement of vibrations induced during pile *** comparison between experimental and numerical results demonstrated a very good agreement,from which it can be concluded that the proposed numerical approach is suitable for the prediction of vibrations induced by impact pile *** experimental database is available as supplemental data and may be used by other researchers in the validation of their prediction models.
