This study focuses on the genus Encoelia and the subfamily Encoelioideae in the morphologically and ecologically diverse *** 28S and 18S rDNA as well as tef1,rpb1 and rpb2 were sequenced for 70 *** analyses revealed Encoelia and Encoelioideae to be highly polyphyletic,with species distributed among eight major *** fascicularis and *** belonged to Sclerotiniaceae and were combined in a new genus,*** comprised *** and Dencoeliopsis johnstonii,both accepted in *** type of Encoelia,***,was closely related to species of Velutarina,Cenangiopsis and *** species together with members of Hemiphacidiaceae formed a clade conforming to the emended concept of Cenangiaceae,introduced *** resurrected family,Cordieritidaceae,comprised ***,*** and species of Ameghiniella,Cordierites,Diplocarpa and Ionomidotis,characterised by inamyloid asci and a positive ionomidotic *** glauca showed closest affinities with Chlorociboria species in Chlorociboriaceae.A new genus,Xeropilidium,with sporodochial and pycnidial synanamorphs,was described for the distinct encoelioid member of the Chaetomellaceae,previously known as *** and ecological synapomorphies were distinguished from convergent characters to delimit monophyletic taxa including encoelioid *** of public sequences from various biological samples in ITS rDNA analyses allowed identification of sequenced organisms at species,genus,or family level and added information on the ecology of seversal *** of Cenangiaceae appeared to be widespread as *** of encoelioid genera in Chaetomellaceae and Sclerotiniaceae added xylicolous saprotrophs to these families.

Characteristics of sildenafil erections in healthy young men

Aim： To determine the effect of sildenafil citrate on the nocturnal penile erections （i.e. time to onset, the duration of erection, and the interval between first and second erections） of healthy young men. Methods： Twenty-two potent men, 23-29 years old, were recruited for the study. All subjects completed three sessions over consecutive nights using the RigiScan monitoring device （Dacomed, Minneapolis, USA）. After a first night of adaptation, night 2 records were their baseline values, and on night 3 they received 100 mg of sildenafil citrate. Statistical comparisons were done between the second and third night data. Results： The mean time to onset of the first erection with sildenafil citrate was （34 ± 18） min, whereas it was （74 ± 24） min （p 〈 0.001） without sildenafil citrate. The number of erections observed during the first 5 h after sildenafil citrate medication was 3.6 ± 0.5 in contrast to 2.4 ± 0.5 with no medica- tion （p = 0.001）. The interval between first and second erections was shorter with sildenafil citrate：（52 ± 26） min vs. （85 ± 34） min （p = 0.01）. The duration of the last erection was statistically significantly longer with the sildenafil citrate：（64 ± 33） min vs. （42 ± 28） min （p 〈 0.01）. Conclusion： Healthy young men achieved erection within 34 min after sildenafil citrate administration, which is shorter than the 1 h interval proposed by the manufacturer. The interval between the first and second erections was shorter and the duration of the last nocturnal erection was longer.

To The Editor,I want to congratulate Jin and colleagues for their article entitled “ABO blood group is a predictor of survival in patients with laryngeal cancer” recently reported in Chinese Journal of Cancer, in which they assessed whether the ABO blood group was associated with prognosis in patients with laryngeal cancer [1]. They reported that compared with the patients with blood group non-O,patients with blood group O had significantly shorter ***, there is no satisfactory explanation why laryngeal cancer patients with blood group O had shorter *** group antigens are expressed on the surface of red blood cells and numerous other tissues throughout the body, including different types of cancer cells as well [2].These A or B antigens located on laryngeal cancer cell surface may be recognized from the immune system as antigenic foci. Hence, laryngeal cancer cells carrying A or B or both antigens could be destroyed by the immune system. On the other hand, laryngeal cancer cells harboring neither A nor B antigens, so-called type O cancer cells may not be recognized by immune cells and therefore may escape from immune destruction.

AIM:To compare the effectiveness of argon plasma coagulation (ApC) and heater probe coagulation (HpC) in non-variceal upper gastrointestinal ***:Eighty-five (18 female,67 male) patients admitted for acute gastrointestinal bleeding due to gastric or duodenal ulcer were included in the *** endoscopy was performed and HpC or ApC were chosen randomly to stop the *** hemostasis and rebleeding rates were primary and secondary end-points of the ***:Initial hemostasis was achieved in 97.7% (42/43) and 81% (36/42) of the ApC and HpC groups,respectively (p pC and HpC groups,respectively,at 4 wk (p > 0.05).CONCLUSION:ApC is an effective hemostatic method in bleeding peptic *** multicenter trials are necessary to confirm these results.

TO THE EDITOR We read with great interest the article by Xp et al. They reported the results of their experience with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) and systemic chemotherapy for forty-five patients with liver metastases from breast cancer and evaluate the prognostic factors. In their study, the response and survival rates were significantly better in TACE group than in chemotherapy group. The lymph node status of the primary cancer, the clinical stage of liver metastases, the Child-pugh grade, loss of weight were found to be significandy associated with survival in both univariate and multivariate and analyses.

Objective:To investigate the length distribution,sex ratio,length-weight relationship,age and growth of Rostroraja alba in the Gulf of ***:This study estimated age and growth of the white skate,Rostroraja alba by counting vertebral band pairs from 112 specimens taken by commercial fisheries during 2006-2009 from the Gulf of Gabes(Southern Tunisia,Central Mediterranean Sea).Results:This is the first and only known information in regards to the age and growth of this species in *** diameter was strongly correlated with total length and age,which were expressed by linear or cubic regression *** oldest female in this study was 35 years and 160 cm,whereas the oldest male was 32 years and 150 *** von Bertalanffy growth parameters were TL_(∞)=(202.26±3.40)cm,K=(0.040±0.038)/year and t_(0)=(1.84±0.01)10^(-1)/year for females and TL_(∞)=(198.60±3.61)cm,K=(0.060±0.076)/year and t_(0)=(1.28±0.04)/year for ***:This study would be an effective tool for fishery biologists,managers and conservationists to initiate management strategies and regulations for the sustainable conservation of the remaining stocks of this species in the Gulf of Gabes(Southern Tunisia)ecosystem.
