Sedimentary characteristics and implications for hydrocarbon exploration in a retrograding shallow-water delta:An example from the fourth member of the Cretaceous Quantou Formation in the Sanzhao depression,Songliao Basin,NE China

Based on the analysis of core,logging,and testing data,the fourth member of the Cretaceous Quantou Formation(K_(2)q^(4))in the Sanzhao depression,Songliao Basin,is investigated in order to understand the sedimentary characteristics and hydrocarbon exploration significance of a retrograding shallow-water *** results show that during the sedimentary period of K_(2)q^(4),the Sanzhao depression with a gentle basement experienced stable tectonic subsidence and suffered a long-term lake level rise caused by paleoclimate changes(from semiarid to semihumid),the K_(2)q^(4)in the study area were dominated by a fining-upward deltaic succession and had relatively stable *** the bottom to the top,the color of mudstone gradually changes from purplish-red to gray and grayish-green,the contents of caliche nodules decrease gradually,while the presence of pyrite in sediments becomes *** sandstones mainly composed of siltstone and fine sandstone with developed high-energy sedimentary structures constitute the main sand bodies of deltaic deposits,but the scale of channel sandstones decrease *** the long-term lake level rise and fining-upward sedimentary succession,purplish-red mudstone,caliche nodules and thin channel sandstones are still broadly distributed in the study area,and thin channel sandstones can be found at the top of K_(2)q^(4)covered by the black oil shale of Qingshankou *** assertations suggest that the study area was dominated by retrograding shallow-water delta deposits during the sedimentary period of K_(2)q^(4).In comparison with modern Poyang Lake,we infer that during the sedimentary period of K_(2)q^(4),the study area experienced frequent lake level fluctuations triggered by paleoclimate changes despite the long-term lake level rise,and the lake level fluctuations control the deposition of retrograding shallow-water *** addition,most of the thin channel sandstones distributed at the top of K_(2)q^(4)and cove

Psychosocial Aspects of Male Infertility at the Service of Urology-Andrology of the Hospital of the Sino-Guinean Friendship

Objective: Describe the psychosocial aspects of male infertility at the hospital of the Sino-Guinean Friendship. Patients and method: It is a prospective study of a descriptive type covering a period of 6 months. The study covered 17 patients, all received for a desire to conceive after at least one year of regular sexual intercourse without contraception. The data were collected from patient interviews using a pre-established questionnaire. Results: The average age of the patients was 32.07 years with extremes of 23 years and 42 years. During this study, 64.70% of patients were no longer participating in community ceremonies. The patients’ relationships with their spouse and family deteriorated in 52.94% and 47.06%, respectively. Conversely, relations with the family of origin remained unchanged in 70.59 percent of cases. The reduction in economic activity was by 13 patients (76.48%). Conclusion: Male infertility causes a real psychic earthquake in men with its corollaries of negative feelings. The rather complex moral repercussions of male infertility affect not only the individual, his/her partner, and family, but also economic activity.

Impact of Foreign direct Investment on Welfare in Africa:Empirical Evidence from Guinea

The recent economic and financial hardship has resuscitated controversies over the role of Foreign Capital in economic growth and welfare enhancement in emerging nations,particularly in *** literature that scrutinizes the causal interaction among Fdi and poverty alleviation is relatively abundant,the fundamental statement shared by these empirical studies is that GDP growth is assumed to be relevant proxy of people ***,Guinea and its Fdi attraction policies have not been well approached by some of these *** empirical study examines the interaction between Fdi inflows and poverty alleviation in Guinea from 1990 to *** Human Development Index(Hdi)and the per capita Fdi net inflows are respectively employed as key welfare and Fdi *** findings from the Error Correction Model(ECM)confirm that,in the long term the variables converge in the same *** outcomes also exhibit that per capita Fdi in the long run,negatively impacts welfare but not significantly,while Inflation’s coefficient remains positive and *** trade openness,we still found the same positive interaction but not *** results from the Auto Regressive distributed Lag Model(ARDL)exhibit that per capita Fdi flows[current value and L2.]have positive but not significant impact on Hdi whereas Fdi[L1]has a negative interaction with welfare at 10%significance *** trade openness variable[current value]is negatively but not significantly associated with Hdi,while inflation[L1 and L2]influence on human advancement is positive and ***,Foreign direct investment in Guinea is still resource seeking investment which impact on the domestic economy is very ***,government should introduce new policies and incentives in order to attract more market seeking or other types of Fdi that may promote inclusive growth and alleviate poverty.

Evaluation of the Severity of Maxillo-Facial Injuries by Motorcycle Road Accident in the Teaching Hospital of Conakry: A Case-Control Study

Introduction: Maxillofacial injuries caused by motorcycle road accidents are serious and represent a real public health issue. They mainly affect young adult males. The objectives of this study were to determine the frequency of motorcycle road accidents, describe the socio-demographic characteristics of the injured, determine the degree of severity of motorcycle injuries compared to car injuries, and describe the therapeutic modalities. Materials and Method: This study was a prospective case-control study carried out in the Department of Odontostomatology, Maxillofacial Surgery and Surgical Emergencies at the National Hospital of Donka. The data was collected over a period of six months from January 1st to June 30th, 2017. All victims of road accidents by motorcycle (cases) or car (controls) that received care and post-surgical follow up were included. Results: A total of 505 patients with maxillofacial injuries were reviewed during the period of the study. From the review, 205 (40.6%) motorcycle accidents were recorded as “cases” and 109 (21.58%) car accidents were classified as “controls” group. Men were the most affected in both groups, n = 254 (177 males in the case group and 77 in the control) (p = 0.01). There was a proportionate relationship between helmet use and death (p = 0.015). A motorcycle accident victim is more likely to develop a mandibular fracture (p = 0.029) and limb injury (p = 0.034) when compared to a car accident victim. However, there was no significant difference between cases and controls for head trauma (p = 0.4878), Facial Injury Severity Scale (FISS) (p = 0.130), and Glasgow score (p = 0.709). Urogenital Complications of Groin Hernia Surgery: A Multicentre Study in Guinea

Context and Objective: Groin hernia is a common pathology in visceral surgery (2nd rank after appendicitis), which affects approximately 4.6% of the African population. Restoring the normal anatomy of the groin region is one of the most benign interventions. However, uro-andrological complications are possible. This study aimed to contribute to the improvement of the management of urogenital complications of groin hernia surgery. Patients and Method: We carried out a prospective study of descriptive type with a duration of 6 months from 1 August 2021 to 31 January 2022. The data were collected using a pre-established survey sheet. The study covered several sites (public hospitals and private clinics) in Guinea. Results: The urogenital complications of the surgery of the hernia of the groin represented 15.22% or 14 cases out of 92 patients. The average age was 37.00 years with extremes of 20-69 years. Polygamists occupied the first place. The reason for consultation was dominated by decreased testicular volume (42.86%), followed by a desire to conceive (21.43%). Unilateral testicular atrophy represented 63.64%, bilateral 27.27%. We performed a left orchidectomy in one patient and a cystorraphy in another simple operative follow-up. The other cases consisting of testicular atrophy, due to lack of a suitable technical platform, did not benefit from any specific therapeutic treatment. Conclusion: Urogenital complications of groin hernia surgery are relatively common. Testicular atrophy was the main clinical complication. The left orchidectomy and cystorraphy were the therapeutic procedures performed.

A Review on Conductive and Transparent Materials Used in the Design of Transparent Antennas

In this review, we highlight the essential parameters of some transparent materials for use in the design of transparent antennas. ITO films with a sheet resistance of Rs = 10 Ω/sq and a T = 90% transmittance, we turn to materials that can be serious alternatives for ITO, such as graphene T = 97% for Rs = 60 Ω/sq and the micro-mesh metal. Wire mesh seems to be the best alternative T = 93% for Rs Rs = 0.022 Ω/sq at T = 81%, this is the micrometric pitch mesh.

Case Report: A Severe Hypernatremia with Multiple Organ Failure, about a Clinical Observation

A hypernatremia severity is often associated with a poor prognosis, especially if it is associated with multiple organ failure. In a country with very limited resources, the prognosis may be favorable in the absence of renal replacement. We report the case of a 63 years old woman, hypertensive and diabetic, admitted to the ICU for unconsciousness. Clinically, neurological examination notes a Glasgow of 8/15 (Y2, V2, M4) and a left hemiplegia. Temperature was 39°C. diuresis was 100 ml during the first 24 hours. Blood pressure was 90/60 mmHg, tachycardia at 133/min. Cardiac auscultation is normal. Vascular axes were weakly perceptible. Oxygen saturation was 95%. The skin examination notes a dry skin and mucous membranes, a flattening of the superficial veins, sunken eyes and a persistent skin fold. There is no hepatomegaly or splenomegaly, or jaundice. Biological point of view note natremia: 176 mmol/L;osmolarity: 390 mosmol/kg;creatinin: 300 μmol/L;glycemia > 6 g/L;transaminases 217 UI. diagnostics: malignant hypernatremia with a high plasma osmolarity associated with an acute anuric renal failure, hydro electrolytic disorders, an abnormal liver function, a fever of central origin and a stroke. The treatment consisted of a correction of the electrolyte disorders by infusion of isotonic and hypotonic fluids with insulin. In a country with very limited resources, the severe hypernatremia prognosis associated with anuric acute renal failure may be favorable in the absence of renal replacement.

Numerical Simulation of the Natural Convection in a Tunnel Whose Floor Has a Variable Sinusoid with a Roof Opening

A two-dimensional numerical study of natural convection in a tunnel whose plane is sinusoidal with an opening on the horizontal ceiling is presented. In this work, we study the thermoconvective instabilities of air in a tunnel closed at both ends and heated by the floor. The study was carried out for different cases of geometry by varying the thickness of the sinusoid and the height of the tunnel. In order to create a transverse movement of the air, we heated the floor to the temperature Tf and kept the horizontal ceiling at the temperature Tg?such that Tg? Tf. This work has a lot of scope of application ranging from geothermal flow to the civil engineering like ventilation in the case of tunnels and thermal comfort of buildings. The Navier Stokes equations that model this problem have been solved using the numerical method with simplifying assumptions such as the Boussinesq hypothesis. And finally an interpretation of the results of the simulations has been made taking into account the variation of the form factors such as the amplitude of the sinusoid for Rayleigh number 2 x 104 ≤Ra?≤7 x 106?and Prendtl number Pr = 0.71.

During the Ordovician-Silurian transition period,the Yangtze area experienced significant environmental changes,which were recorded by the widely distributed black shale of the Upper Ordovician Wufeng and Lower Silurian Longmaxi ***,the petrological and geochemical analyses of the Upper Ordovician-Lower Silurian black shale in Well JY1(eastern Sichuan Basin)and Well YY2(western Hubei Province)drill cores show that there are some significant differences with respect to lithology,thickness,and geochemical characteristics despite the long-term similar variation trend in petrology and *** may suggest some major environmental changes and their differential influence on black shale deposition in the Yangtze *** on the analyses of lithology,total organic carbon(TOC),Mo_(EF),and U_(EF),four long-term sedimentary cycles(one for the Wufeng Formation and three for the Longmaxi Formation)were identified in Well *** Well YY2,only three long-term sedimentary cycles can be recognized(one for the Wufeng Formation and two for the Longmaxi Formation).different from the gradual increase of the geochemical proxies(such as TOC,MoEF,and NiEF)followed by an abrupt decrease in the Wufeng Formation,these proxies of the Silurian sedimentary cycles in both wells exhibit an abrupt increase at the base followed by a gradual decrease,showing that controlling mechanisms for the Lower Silurian black shale deposition in the study areas were different from those of the Upper Ordovician black ***,the black shale of each Silurian cycle in Well JY1 is much thicker than that in Well *** with the thick silty mudstone developed in Well JY1 during the Rhuddanian-Aeronian transition,there is a stratigraphic gap in Well YY2 except for a thin calcareous dolostone formed in a strongly restricted *** differences indicate that tectonism and glacial eustasy should be the key factors for black shale development,but their influences on the depo

A Biogas Production Model from the Combination of Pig Manure and Cow Dung in N’Zérékoré City, Republic of Guine

This present research work focuses on the valorization of pig droppings for production of biogas in mono digestion and co-digestion with proportions of cow dung from the urban commune of N’Zérékoré. It was carried out in December 2020 in the Physics laboratory of the University of N’Zérékoré. The anaerobic digestion process took 25 days in an almost constant ambient temperature of 25˚C. Five digesters were loaded on 12/06/2020, two of which with 1 kg of pig dung and 1 kg of cow dung both in mono-digestion. The 3 other digesters in co-digestion with different proportions of pig manure and cow dung. The substrate in each digester is diluted in 2 liters of water, with a proportion of (1/2). The main results obtained are: 1) the evolution of the temperature and pH during digestion process, 2) the average biogas productions 0.61 liters for (D1);1.20 liter for (D2);1.65 liter for (D3);1.51 liter for (D4) and 1.31 liter for (D5). The cumulative amounts of biogas are respectively: D1 (7.95 liters), D2 (15.60 liters), D3 (21.50 liters), D4 (19.65 liters) and D5 (17.05 liters). The total cumulative production is 81.75 liters at the end of the process. The originality of this research work is that the proposed model examines the relation between the daily biogas production and the variation of temperature, pH and pressure. The combustibility test showed the biogas produced during the first week was no combustible (contains less than 50% methane). Combustion started from the biogas produced from the 15th day and it is from the 20th day that a significant amount of stable yellow/blue flame was observed. The results of this study show the combination of pig manure and cow dung presents advantages for optimal biogas production.
