Application of microalgal-ZnO-NPs for reusing polyester/cotton blended fabric wastes after modification by cellulases enzymes

Polyester/cotton(PET/C)blended fabric wastes are produced daily in huge amounts,which constitutes an economic loss and an environmental threat if it is not reused *** textile waste recycling technologies put much effort into developing fabric materials with unique properties,such as bioactivity or new optical goods based on modern technologies,especially *** this study,zinc oxide nanoparticles(ZnO-NPs)were biosynthesized using the aqueous extract of Dunaliella *** immobilized on PET/C waste fabrics after enzymatically activated with *** produced Dunaliella-ZnO-NPs(10–20 nm with a spherical shape)were characterized by High-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEm),Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),X-Ray diffraction analysis(XRD),and Scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive X-ray analyzer(SEm-EDAX),and some functional groups,such as CH,CO,NH,and CN(due to the presence of carboxyl,proteins and hydroxyl groups),were detected,revealing the biosynthesis of *** analysis showed that the resulting ZnO-NPS had potent antimicrobial effects,Ultraviolet(UV)protection capabilities,and no cytotoxic effects on the normal human fibroblast cell line(BJ1).On the other hand,enzymatic treatments of PET/C fabric waste with cellulases enhanced the immobilization of biosynthetic nanoparticles on their *** PET/C fabrics loaded with Dunaliella-ZnO-NPs showed antibacterial and UV protection capabilities making them an eco-friendly and cost-effective candidate for numerous *** applications can include the manufacture of active packaging devices,wastewater treatment units,and many other environmental applications.

A statistical approach to enhance the productivity of Streptomyces baarensis mH-133 for bioactive compounds

The goal of this study was to use statistical optimization to change the nutritional and environmental conditions so that Streptomyces baarensis mH-133 could make more active *** trials were used to screen for critical variables influencing productivity using the Placket-Burman Design *** mH-133 is significantly influenced by elicitation,yeast extract,inoculum size,and incubation period in terms of antibacterial activity.A total of 27 experimental trials with various combinations of these factors were used to carry out the response surface technique using the Box-Behnken *** analyses revealed that the model was highly significant(pmination(R2)of ***,the model predicted that the response as inhibition zone diameter would reach a value of 27 *** optimal conditions,*** mH-133 produced 18.0 g of crude extract to each 35L and was purified with column *** active fraction exhibiting antibacterial activity was characterized using spectroscopic *** mIC and mBC values varied between 37.5 and 300μg/ml and 75 and 300μg/ml,*** conclusion,the biostatistical optimization of the active fraction critical variables,including environmental and nutritional conditions,enhances the production of bioactive molecules by Streptomyces species.

Enhancing laccase stability and activity for dyes decolorization using ZIF-8@mWCNT nanocomposite

The continuous use of chemical dyes in various industries,and their discharge into industrial effluents,results in severe problems to human life and water *** have the ability to decolorize dyes and toxic chemicals in industrial effluents as green *** possible industrial applications have been limited by poor reusability,low stability,and loss of free laccase *** this research,lac-case was immobilized on zeolitic imidazolate framework coated multi-walled carbon nanotubes(Laccase@ZIF-8@mWCNTs)via metal affinity adsorption to develop an easy separable and stable *** optimum reaction conditions for immobilized laccase are at a pH of 3.0 and a temperature of 60℃.The immobilized laccase was enhanced in storage and thermal *** results indicated that Laccase@ZIF-8@mWCNTs still maintained 68%of its original activity after 10 times of repeated *** importantly,the biocatalytic system was applied for decolorization of different dyes(20 mg·L^(-1))without a mediator,and up to 97.4%for Eriochrome black T and 95.6%Acid red 88 was achieved in 25 *** with these properties may be used in a variety of environmental and industrial applications.

Effects of Bentonite,Hydrogel and Biochar Amendments on Soil Hydraulic Properties from Saturation to Oven Dryness

Effects of hydrogel, bentonite, and biochar as soil amendments on soil hydraulic properties and improving water availability from saturation to oven dryness were investigated. Soils were mixed with hydrogel (0.10%, 0.25%, and 0.50%), bentonite (0.5%, 1.0%, and 2.5%), and biochar (1.0%, 2.5%, and 5.0%) as soil amendments (weight:weight). Three methods (extended multistep outflow (XmSO), evaporation (EVA), and WP4 dewpoint potentiometer) were used to measure soil hydraulic properties from saturation to oven dryness. The cumulative XmSO results were more uniform across all the applied pressure steps for the amended soils. The EVA exhibited a shorter linear decrease during the first evaporation stage and a lower evaporation rate during the second evaporation stage. The WP4 results also exhibited that soil amendments increased the soil water content of the amended soils at low matric potentials. The results of soil water retention curves revealed that the unamended soil retained less water at any matric potential compared to the amended soils. Soil hydraulic conductivity decreased with increasing amount of soil amendments. The saturated hydraulic conductivity was higher for the unamended soil than the soils amended w计h 2.5% bentonite, 0.50% hydrogel, and 5.0% biochar by 11, 3, and 18 times, respectively. These results suggested that soil amendments improved soil water retentivity, which confirmed the appropriateness of these soil amendments for potential use in sandy soil improvements. However, field experiments and economical perception studies should be considered for further investigation.

Identifying deformational mechanisms and associated structures at various scales,ranging from regional-scale structures to microscopic fabric,is crucial for the assessment of tectonic ***-three samples were taken from the Qazzaz metamorphic core complex to estimate the finite strain for felsic and mafic *** samples included gneisses rocks,monzogranite,and metavolcano-sedimentary rocks for both the Thalbah and Bayda *** the Rf/j and Fry methods,the axial ratios(XZ)range about 2.20 to 7.10 and 1.90 to 9.10,*** various rock units,the strain measurements show moderate to highly *** of the observed samples show shallow WNW dipping along a N to WNW trend of finite strain(X).The short axes(Z)based to be subvertical foliation related with a subhorizontal *** results demonstrate that contacts generated at semi-brittle to ductile deformation and that the strain of magnitude has the same value for different lithologic *** concluded that nappe generation in orogens results from pure shear deformation.

Numerical damage evaluation of perforated steel columns subjected to blast loading

The structural performance of perforated steel columns(PSCs)is significantly more complex than the one of solid web I-shaped elements under the diversity of blast loading *** damage criterion of PSCs is not only related to initial deformation response during the blast but also the residual axial load capacity and it can be considered as a reliable index after the blast ***,the PSCs damages will be studied in two stages;direct and post blast *** the present study,the dynamic response of PSCs was numerically evaluated under different levels of blast threats using LS-DYNA *** explicit finite element(FE)analyses are carried out to investigate the effect of various parameters,such as web opening shapes,boundary conditions and strengthening details on the damage index and toughness of the PSCs compared to the parent steel *** results of the comparative study show that the damage and toughness decrease when the support condition changes from pinned to fixed ends through the two stages of *** give high toughness compared to its parent sections during blast shock stage while,a remarkable decrease in toughness is observed during the application of axial gravity after blast ***,the web opening shapes have slight effects on the global dynamic behavior of PSCs,particularly in terms of residual *** the contrary,the retrofitting strategy using both closed holes at end and vertical stiffeners have an effective enhancement to get higher toughness in case of the extreme blasts.

Wastewater degradation by iron/copper nanoparticles and the microorganism growth rate

Nowadays, trends in wastewater treatment by zero-valent iron（ZVI） were turned to use bimetallic NZVI particles by planting another metal onto the ZVI surface to increase its reactivity. Nano size zero-valent iron/copper（NZVI/Cu0） bimetallic particles were synthesized in order to examine its toxicity effects on the wastewater microbial life, kinetics of phosphorus, ammonia stripping and the reduction of chemical oxygen demand（COD）.Various concentrations of NZVI/Cu0 and operation conditions both aerobic and anaerobic were investigated and compared with pure NZVI experiment. The results showed that addition10 mg/L of NZVI/Cu0 significantly increased the numbers of bacteria colonies under anaerobic condition, conversely it inhibited bacteria activity with the presence of oxygen. Furthermore,the impact of nanoparticles on ammonia stripping and phosphorus removal was also linked to the emitted iron ions electrons. It was found that dosing high concentration of bimetallic NZVI/Cu0 has a negative effect on ammonia stripping regardless of the aeration condition. In comparison to control, dosing only 10 mg/L NZVI/Cu0, the phosphorus removal increased sharply both under aerobic and anaerobic conditions, these outcomes were obtained as a result of complete dissolution of bimetallic nanoparticles which formed copper-iron oxides components that are attributed to increasing the phosphorus adsorption rate.

Applying and Comparison of Chaotic-Based Permutation Algorithms for Audio Encryption

This research presents,and claries the application of two permutation algorithms,based on chaotic map systems,and applied to a le of speech *** are the Arnold cat map-based permutation algorithm,and the Baker’s chaotic map-based permutation *** algorithms are implemented on the same speech signal ***,both the premier and the encrypted le histograms are documented and *** speech signal amplitude values with time signals of the original le are recorded and plotted against the encrypted and decrypted ***,the original le is plotted against the encrypted le,using the spectrogram frequencies of speech signals with the signal *** permutation algorithms are used to shufe the positions of the speech les signals’values without any changes,to produce an encrypted speech le.A comparative analysis is introduced by using some of sundry statistical and experimental analyses for the procedures of encryption and decryption,e.g.,the time of both procedures,the encrypted audio signals histogram,the correlation coefcient between specimens in the premier and encrypted signals,a test of the Spectral Distortion(SD),and the Log-Likelihood Ratio(LLR)*** outcomes of the different experimental and comparative studies demonstrate that the two permutation algorithms(Baker and Arnold)are sufcient for providing an efcient and reliable voice signal encryption ***,the Arnold’s algorithm gives better results in most cases as compared to the results of Baker’s algorithm.

Performance study of selective encryption in comparison to full encryption for still visual images

Securing digital images is becoming an important concern in today's information security due to the extensive use of secure images that are either transmitted over a network or stored on disks. Image encryption is the most effective way to fulfil confidentiality and protect the privacy of images. Nevertheless, owing to the large size and complex structure of digital images, the computational overhead and processing time needed to carry out full image encryption prove to be limiting factors that inhibit it of being used more heavily in real time. To solve this problem, many recent studies use the selective encryption approach to encrypt significant parts of images with a hope to reduce the encryption overhead. However, it is necessary to realistically evaluate its performance compared to full encryption. In this paper, we study the performance and efficiency of image segmentation methods used in the selective encryption approach, such as edges and face detection methods, in determining the most important parts of visual images. Experiments were performed to analyse the computational results obtained by selective image encryption compared to full image encryption using symmetric encryption algorithms. Experiment results have proven that the selective encryption approach based on edge and face detection can significantly reduce the time of encrypting still visual images as compared to full encryption. Thus, this approach can be considered a good alternative in the implementation of real-time applications that require adequate security levels.

Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)is a devastating worldwide pandemic infection caused by a severe acute respiratory syndrome namely coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)that is associated with a high spreading and mortality *** the date this review was written,SARS-CoV-2 infected about 96 million people and killed about 2 million *** arguments disclosed the high mortality of COVID-19 due to acute respiratory distress syndrome or change in the amount of angiotensin-converting enzyme 2(ACE2)receptor expression or cytokine storm strength *** a similar pattern,hepatic impairment patients co-infected with SARS-CoV-2 exhibited overexpression of ACE2 receptors and cytokine storm overwhelming,which worsens the hepatic impairment and increases the mortality *** this review,the impact of SARS-CoV-2 on hepatic impairment conditions we ***,we focused on the recent studies that indicated cytokine storm as well as ACE2 as the main factors for high COVID-19 spreading and mortality while hinting at the potential therapeutic strategies.
