Experimental evaluations were conducted to determine the water sorptivity,setting time,and resistance to a highly acidic environment,of mortar with alkali-activated ground granulated blast furnace slag(GBS)binder and also of combinations of fly ash and GBS *** were activated using mixtures of NaOH and Na_(2)SiO_(3)*** molarity of NaOH in the mixtures ranged from 10 mol·L^(−1)to 16 mol·L^(−1),and the Na_(2)SiO_(3)/NaOH ratio was varied from 1.5 to *** samples were produced using three binder combinations:1)GBS as the only binder;2)blended binder with a slag-to-fly ash ratio of 3:1;and 3)mixed binder with 1:1 ratio of slag to fly *** samples were mixed and cured at(22±2)°C till the day of the *** impact of activator solution alkalinity,activator ratio Na_(2)SiO_(3)/NaOH,GBS content on the rate of water absorption were *** 7,28,and 90 d of immersion in a 10%sulfuric acid solution,the resistance of a geopolymer matrix to degradation was assessed by measuring the change in sample *** influence of solution alkalinity and relative fly ash content on setting times was ***-activated mortar with a slag-to-fly ash ratio of 3:1 had the least sorptivity compared to the two other binder combinations,at each curing age,and for mortars made with each of the NaOH alkaline activator *** sorptivity decreased with age and sodium hydroxide concentrations,suggesting the production of geopolymerization *** reduction in weight of sample occurred after immersion in the strong acid H_(2)SO_(4)solution for three months,regardless of binder *** was due to the synthesis of hydration and geopolymerization products in the presence of curing water,which outweighed the degradation of the geopolymer matrix caused by sulfuric acid.

Inspired by molecular ca.alysts,researchers developed atomically precise nitrogen-coordinated single or dual metal sites imbedded in graphitized carbon（M-N-C） to fully utilize metallic sites for *** ca.alysts performed remarkably well in the electroca.alytic oxygen reduction reaction（ORR） due to their distinct coordination and electrical structures,Nonetheless,their maximum efficacy in practical applications has yet to be *** agenda identifies tailoring the coordination environment,spin states,intersite distance,and metal-metal interaction as innovative approaches to regulate the ORR performance of these ***,it is necessary to undertake a precise assessment of these methodologies and the knowledge obtained to be implemented in the design of future M-N-C ca.alysts for ***,this review aims to a.alyze recent progress in M-N-C ORR ca.alysts,emphasizing their innovative engineering with aspects such as alteration in intersite distance,metal-metal interaction,coordination environment,and spin ***,we critically discuss how to logically monitor the atomic structure,local coordination,spin,and electronic states of M-N-C ca.alysts to modulate their ORR *** have also highlighted the challenges associated with M-N-C ca.alysts and proposed suggestions for their future design and fabrication.

Compacted layers of expansive soils are used in different engineering projects,such as subgrades,engineered clay barriers,and buffers for radioactive waste *** layers are exposed to a variety of stresses and wetting conditions during field *** between hydraulic and mechanical repeated loading provides insight understanding to the induced progressive deformation of expansive *** study was conducted to investigate the hydromechanical behavior of unsaturated compacted expansive clay under repeated loadingeunloading(RLU)*** series of onedimensional(1D)oedometer tests were conducted under controlled matric suction up to 1500 kPa using the axis translation technique(Fredlund soil-water characteristic curve device,SWC-150).The first test series was carried out at different levels of controlled matric suction for non-repeated loading eunloading(NRLU)*** cycles were applied in the second test series at different repetitivestress levels and under different levels of matric *** results indicated increasing axial wetting strainε_(a)(s),axial swell pressure ss(s),compression index C_(c)(s),and swell index C_(s)(s)with suction *** estimated loadecollapse(LC)curves obtained from NRLU series(LCN)and RLU series(LCR)indicated increasing yield stress sy(s)with increasing *** is attributed to the developed apparent cohesion between soil particles,which in turn rigidifies the material *** repetitive loading induced a notable reduction of compression index C_(c)(s)at the same level of suction,whereas swell index C_(s)(s)seems to be independent of repetitive ***,repetitive loading exceeding initial yield stresses results in plastic hardening and,hence,enlargement of yield stress locus(*** curve).

We study the Lpboundedness of singular integral operators along surfaces of revolution on product spaces. The Lpboundedness for these operators are obtained under very weak conditions on kernels. Our results are new and they improve several previously known results. Furthermore, they are natural extensions of many known results on singular integrals in the one-parameter setting and they subsume many other corresponding results on the product space setting.

In terms of battery design and evaluation,Electric Vehicles(EVs)are receiving a great deal of attention as a modern,eco-friendly,sustainable transportation *** this paper,a novel battery pack is designed to maintain a uniform temperature distribution,allowing the battery to operate within its optimal temperature *** proposed battery design is part of a main channel where a portion of cool air will pass from an inlet then exit from an outlet where a uniform temperature distribution is ***,a 3-D model of a battery cell was created,followed by thermal simulation for 15C,25C,and 35C ambient *** simulation results reveal that the temperature distribution is nearly uniform,with slightly higher values in the middle portion of the cell ***,using finite element a.alysis(FEA),it was determined that the heat flux per unit area is nearly uniform with a slight increase at the ***,a machine learning model is proposed by utilizing a neural network(NN).Lastly,the heat flux values were predicted using the NN model that was *** model was assessed based on statistical measures where a root mean square error(RMSE)value of 0.87%was *** NN outperformed FEA in terms of time consumption with a high prediction accuracy,leveraging the potential of adopting machine learning over FEA in related operational assessments.

This study aimed to address the remediation of crude oil-contaminated soil by employing four different factorial setups:I-used the earthworms(Eudrilus eugeniae)for vermiremediation,II–utilized the bacteria(Pseudomonas aeruginosa FA-7)for bioaugmentation,III–combined earthworms+bacteria to perform vermiremediation+bioaugmentation,and IV–served as abiotic ***,garden soil weighing 1 kg and 50 g of desiccated cow dung were introduced into the experimental groups and abiotic ***,different quantities of crude oil ranging from 5 to 20 mL were *** on the results,from 5 mL of oil-contaminated soil,the factorial setup-III removed the maximum proportion of total petroleum hydrocarbons(TPH)in V+B1(58.06%).The abiotic control treatments AC1(1.11%)exhibited the lowest TPH removal *** bioremediated soil had significantly(Pal properties than the initial crude oil contaminated *** instance,earthworm and microbial action resulted in considerable reductions in pH(4.72%),total organic carbon(44.03%),total nitrogen(42.42%),total phosphorus(52.17%),and total potassium(22.64%)by the end of the *** the 60th day of factorial setup-III,the bacterial population(386.470±0.432 CFU×10^(6) g^(−1)),actinomycetes(188.043±0.246 CFU×10^(8) g^(−1)),and fungi(16.603±0.202 CFU×10^(5) g^(−1))were *** germination rates of Trigonella foenum-graecum seeds were increased by 86.6%in factorial setup III(V+B1)when compared to other factorial ***,the incorporation of vermiremediation and bioaugmentation provides a distinctive platform for effective oil-contaminated soil remediation.
