This study is devoted to investigate the effect of induced magnetic field on fully developed magnetohydrodynamic(MHD)natural convection flow of electrically conducting fluid in a vertical annular micro-channel formed by two concentric cylinders in the presence of imposed radial magnetic *** velocity slip and temperature jump at the annular micro-channel surfaces are taken into *** influence of induced magnetic field arising due to the motion of an electrically conducting fluid is taken into *** governing equations of the motion are a set of simultaneous ordinary differential equations and their exact solutions in dimensionless form have been obtained under relevant boundary *** expressions for velocity field,the induced magnetic field,temperature field,induced current density and skin friction have been obtained.A parametric study of the physical parameters is conducted and a representative set of numerical results for the velocity field,the induced magnetic field,temperature,induced current density,volume flow rate and skin friction are illustrated graphically to show interesting features of the radius ratio,rarefaction,fluid wall interaction,Hartmann number and the magnetic Prandtl *** the course of investigation,it is found that for fixed value of Hartmann number,the skin friction profiles in the presence of induced magnetic field are higher compared to the case when the induced magnetic field is neglected.

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and Plasmodium species are the causative agents of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and malaria respectively with similar clinical presentations. The objective of this study is to determine the burden of co-infection of SARS-CoV-2 and malaria in the general population. Five (5 mLs) of blood samples were collected for SARS-CoV-2 and malaria parasite test. The malaria test was performed using a commercially available one-step malaria antigen Plasmodium falciparum histidine-rich protein 2 (Pf HRP-II) rapid test kit. The results of the study showed that the participants that were coinfected with SARS-CoV-2 IgG and malaria were 13 (2.5%) in Lagos, 1114 (39.1%) in Delta and 49 (2.3%) in Sokoto States. The prevalence of coinfection of SARS-CoV-2 and malaria in urban areas in Lagos, Delta and Sokoto States were 7 (2.2%), 1373 (48.1%), and 5 (0.2%) respectively. In rural areas, the prevalence of coinfection of SARS-CoV-2 and malaria in Lagos, Delta and Sokoto States were 6 (0.3%), 365 (12.8%), and 44 (2.1%) respectively in this study. This suggests that participants in the urban areas were more prone to co-infections than the rural areas in Lagos and Delta states, while it was otherwise in Sokoto State. In conclusion, the co-infection of SARS-CoV-2 and malaria was very high in Delta State compared to the other States. It is important for clinics to screen for both diseases when patients present with symptoms of malaria. This is because the infections have similar symptoms and the public is quick to assume malaria infection without diagnosing for COVID-19 and vice versa.

Growth in urban population,urbanisation,and economic development has increased the demand for water,especially in water-scarce ***,sustainable approaches to water management are needed to cope with the effects of the urbanisation on the water *** study aimed to design novel configurations of tidal-flow vertical subsurface flow constructed wetlands(VFCWs)for treating urban stormwater.A series of laboratory experiments were conducted with semi-synthetic influent stormwater to examine the effects of the design and operation variables on the performance of the VFCWs and to identify optimal design and operational strategies,as well as maintenance *** results show that the VFCWs can significantly reduce pollutants in urban stormwater,and that pollutant removal was related to specific VFCW *** based on the artificial neural network(ANN)method were built using inputs derived from data exploratory techniques,such as analysis of variance(ANOVA)and principal component analysis(PCA).It was found that PCA reduced the dimensionality of input variables obtained from different experimental design *** results show a satisfactory generalisation for predicting nitrogen and phosphorus removal with fewer variable inputs,indicating that monitoring costs and time can be reduced.

Background:The greater cane rat(GCR),reputed to be African's second largest rodent,is a precocial hystricomorph with an uncommon phenotype and life *** and socio-economic interests in the GCR have led to heightened research efforts targeted towards a better understanding of its biology and exploration of its economic and translational ***:Records of all online scientific publications on the GCR from Google,Google Scholar,PubMed,***,Ebscohost and Worldwide science,with the exception of research theses,proceedings,unpublished projects and abstracts,were collated and analyzed using descriptive ***:A total of 146 published scholarly articles spanning about six decades were retrieved,with 98%of the GCR publications originating from African *** boasts the highest number of publications(58.22%)followed by Ghana(21.23%)and South Africa(5.48%)while Senegal contributed the least(0.69%).Publications were sorted into ten field *** field with the highest number of articles(41.78%)was animal breeding and management recording,closely followed by anatomy(37.67%).Lesser contributions were made by parasitology(5.48%),biochemistry/hematology(4.8%),pharmacology/toxicology(4.11%),pathology(2.06%),and surgery/anesthesia and physiology(1.37%apiece).The fields with fewest contributions were microbiology and developmental biology(0.69%each).Conclusion:This study chronicles the spectrum of knowledge available on the GCR,highlighting the knowledge gap that still exists in various fields in order to provide advocacy for new frontiers in research efforts on this *** suggest the need for a clearly defined and well integrated national/regional policy aimed at establishing Africa's foremost micro-livestock rodent,the greater cane rat,on the world's scientific radar.

Epilepsy is a neurological disease characterized by excessive and abnormal hyper-synchrony of electrical discharges of the brain and a predisposition to generate epileptic seizures resulting in a broad spectrum of neurobiological insults,imposing psychological,cognitive,social and also economic burdens to the ***-gated sodium channels(VGSCs)are essential for the generation and propagation of action potentials throughout the central nervous *** of these channels has been implicated in the pathogenesis of *** inhibitors have been demonstrated to act as anticonvulsants to suppress the abnormal neuronal firing underlying epileptic seizures,and are used for the management and treatment of both genetic-idiopathic and acquired *** discuss the forms of idiopathic and acquired epilepsies caused by VGSC mutations and the therapeutic efficacy of VGSC blockers in idiopathic,acquired and pharmacoresistant forms of epilepsy in this *** conclude that there is a need for better alternative therapies that can be used alone or in combination with VGSC inhibitors in the management of *** current anti-seizure medications(ASMs)especially for pharmacoresistant epilepsies and some other types of epilepsy have not yielded expected therapeutic efficacy partly because they do not show subtype-selectivity in blocking sodium channels while also bringing side ***,there is a need to develop novel drug cocktails with enhanced selectivity for specific VGSC isoforms,to achieve better treatment of pharmacoresistant epilepsies and other types of epileptic seizures.

爆破开采一直是采矿工程担心的问题,因为爆破活动对环境造成了相当大的破坏,并对矿山附近的住宅和其他结构造成了影响。开发一个特定场地的模型,可以在炸药爆炸前估计其产生的预期的噪声和振动;本研究旨在开发一个经验模型,用于预测尼日利亚西南部Akoko Edo的石灰石和大理石采石场的噪音和振动,前提是估计值表明噪音和振动将对周围环境有害。为了确定所选石灰石和大理石样品的岩土性质,根据国际岩石力学学会(ISRM)标准制备了工件,并进行了含水量、密度、单轴综合系统试验。根据国际岩石力学学会标准确定了岩石的力学特性。利用地震仪测量爆破作业产生的噪声和振动,对钻孔和爆破参数进行了评价。岩石性质分析表明,灰岩和大理岩的平均吸水率分别为8.8%和10.66%,密度为2.41g/cm和2.42g/cm,单轴抗压强度分别为90 MPa和40.3MPa。石灰岩采石场爆破场地的最大起爆药量为580kg～1600kg,噪声级为3.5d B～15.8d B,振动级为0.25mm/s～3.6mm/s;大理岩爆破场地的最大起爆药量为600kg～1450kg,噪声级为7.24d B～13.86d B,振动级为2.56mm/s～4.5mm/s。石灰岩和大理石采石场爆破作业的线性模型对噪声和地面振动的R2分别为0.990～0.998。因此,线性模型可以合理地预测爆炸噪声水平和地面振动,具有较高的精度。针对石灰岩和大理石采石场爆破作业提出的多元回归模型与预测的噪声和地面振动具有较高的相关性。得到的R2分别为0.999和0.999和0.985和0.996。因此,该模型能够准确地预测爆炸噪声和地面振动。结果表明,随着瞬时电荷量的增大,地面振动和噪声也随之增大。因此,修改一次性引爆炸药群,以减少爆炸对地面和环境的影响。从爆破后果控制的角度出发,根据所建立的模型预测,要求作业人员与爆破点保持一定的安全距离。在没有直接测量仪器的情况下,可以将建立的预测模型应用于爆破作业现场,用于爆破前的噪声和地面振动程度预测,有效指导工程实践。

Background:The important roles of liver and kidney in the elimination of injurious chemicals make them highly susceptible to the noxious activities of various toxicants including cobalt chloride(CoCl_(2)).This study was designed to investigate the role of glycine in the mitigation of hepato-renal toxicities associated with CoCl_(2)***:Forty-two(42)male rats were grouped as Control;(CoCl_(2);300 ppm);CoCl_(2)+Glycine(50 mg/kg);CoCl_(2)+Glycine(100 mg/kg);Glycine(50 mg/kg);and Glycine(100 mg/kg).The markers of hepatic and renal damage,oxidative stress,the antioxidant defense system,histopathology,and immunohistochemical localization of neutrophil gelatinase associated lipocalin(NGAL)and renal podocin were ***:Glycine significantly reduced the markers of oxidative stress(malondialdehyde content and H_(2)O_(2) generation),liver function tests(ALT,AST,and ALP),markers of renal function(creatinine and BUN),and decreased the expression of neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin(NGAL)and podocin compared with rats exposed to CoCl_(2)toxicity without glycine *** lesions including patchy tubular epithelial necrosis,tubular epithelial degeneration and periglomerular inflammation in renal tissues,and severe portal hepatocellular necrosis,inflammation,and duct hyperplasia were observed in hepatic tissues of rats exposed to CoCl_(2)toxicity,but were mild to absent in glycine-treated ***:The results of this study clearly demonstrate protective effects of glycine against CoCl_(2)-induced tissue injuries and derangement of physiological activities of the hepatic and renal systems in *** protective effects are mediated via augmentation of total antioxidant capacity and upregulation of NGAL and podocin expression.

E-administration is performing administrative works via computer and its associated technologies such as the Internet. It is administrative efforts that center on the exchange of information and providing services to people and the business sector at high speed and low cost through computers and networks with the assurance of maintaining information security. It is based on the positive investment in information technology and communication in administrative practices. This paper presents the design of the e-administration platform that adopts the concept of cryptography for identity management. The architectural framework of the platform comprises subcomponents for service and forms identification, business process redesign, service architecture, amalgamation, and deployment. The cryptography model for securing the platform was designed based on the combination of authentication criteria presented in the Rijndael-Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), Lattice-based cryptography (LBC), and Secure Hash Algorithm (SHA512). It is required that a record be encrypted prior to its commitment to the database via a double encryption method. The AES algorithm-based encryption’s output will form the input to the LBC algorithm to obtain the final output.
