The search for new biomarkers predictive of type 2 diabetes currently constitutes a research avenue in Bioclinical. Total homocysteine remains a preferred targ.t due to its involvement in the occurrence of deg.nerative complications in type 2 diabetics. The aim of this work was to study hyperhomocysteinemia and other biochemical markers associated with T2D in the Cong.lese population. This was an analytical case-control study carried out between October 2022 and October 2023. The study population consisted of 150 subjects including.100 T2D patients and 50 control subjects. The main clinical data were collected on a pre-established form. Homocysteine determination was carried out by the sandwich ELISA method. The other biochemical markers were measured by colorimetric enzymatic methods. Hyperhomocysteinemia was present in 27.3% (41/150) of the entire study population. Type 2 diabetics had a frequency of hyperhomocysteinemia of 36% (36/100) and control 10% (5/50) (p = 0.001). The mean hyperhomocysteinemia concentration was 31.9 μmol/l with extremes rang.ng.from 18 to 103 μmol/l. Means of biolog.cal markers between diabetics and controls showed a statistically sig.ificant difference (p = 0.01). The risk factors associated with this HHcy were: sex (OR = 3.5), ag. (OR = 9.4), sedentary lifestyle (OR = 3.4) and g.ycosylated hemog.obin (OR = 12) with a p-value g.est that hyperhomocysteinemia can be considered as a predictive biomarker in the bioclinic of Cong.lese type 2 diabetic patients.

To determine the cause(s)of perturbations seen in dayside equatorial g.ound mag.etog.ams,we conducted a systematic survey of simultaneous g.ound-based and g.osynchronous satellite-based observations during.the 90-day period from December 1,2020 to February 28,*** examined Huancayo g.ound mag.etometer observations from 14:00:00 to 20:00:00 UT each day,during.which Huancayo passed throug. local *** those data we chose perturbation events selected on the basis of larg.(>20 nT)event amplitude and classified the selected events as responding.primarily to solar wind pressure,or to variations in the north/south component of the interplanetary mag.etic field(IMF Bz),or perhaps in part to *** results show that an equivalent number of events were identified for each model during.this 90-day *** in the lag.ed solar wind dynamic pressure routinely correspond to nearly simultaneous sudden impulses recorded at both g.osynchronous orbit and on the *** in IMF Bz produce erosion sig.atures at g.osynchronous orbit and can correspond to g.ound events if lag.times for reconnection to enhance convection in the mag.etosphere are taken into account.

Acute pancreatitis(AP)is a leading.cause of g.strointestinal-related hospitalizations in the United States,resulting.in 300000 admissions per year with an estimated cost of over$2.6 billion *** severity of AP is determined by the presence of pancreatic complications and end-org.n *** moderate/severe pancreatitis can be associated with sig.ificant morbidity and mortality,the majority of patients have a mild presentation with an uncomplicated course and mortality rate of less than 2%.Despite favorable outcomes,the majority of mild AP patients are admitted,contributing.to healthcare cost and *** this Editorial we review the performance of an emerg.ncy department(ED)pathway for patients with mild AP at a tertiary care center with the g.al of reducing.hospitalizations,resource utilization,and costs after several years of implementation of the *** discuss the clinical course and outcomes of mild AP patients enrolled in the pathway who were successfully discharg.d from the ED compared to those who were admitted to the hospital,and identify predictors of successful ED discharg. to select patients who can potentially be triag.d to the *** conclude that by implementing.innovative clinical pathways which are established and reproducible,selected AP patients can be safely discharg.d from the ED,reducing.hospitalizations and healthcare costs,without compromising.clinical *** also identify a subset of patients most likely to succeed in this pathway.

Multi-objective method of selecting.performance-based local climatic zones using.binomial log.stic reg.ession in warm and humid climate

Urban ag.lomeration is a serious concern due to its hig. energ. usag. and impact on the local *** countries strive to determine the development path to optimize energ. *** present study aims to examine the local climatic zones(LCZs)performance in warm and humid climate throug. a multi-objective approach for the residential *** performance is assessed by evaluating.the urban microclimate and cooling.load consumption for both summer and winter months using.binomial log.stic *** study concludes that LCZ 2_(3)(compact mid-rise with open low-rise)and LCZ 6_(B)(open low-rise with scattered trees)perform better for 80%and 50%of total hours in warm and humid *** also proves the presence of sig.ificant performance differences between mid-rise and low-rise *** intra-zonal differences between the climatic variables are hig.er than the inter-zonal differences due to the impact of land surface temperature(LST).The hig. aspect ratio and low sky view factor of LCZ 2_(3) help the residents in that morpholog. in enhancing.better thermal comfort and reducing.cooling.load *** present study contributes to building.reg.lation policymakers by providing.information on the suitable morpholog. for warm and humid climate.
