FSCIL-eACA: Few-Shot Class-Incremental Learning network Based on.e.bedding Augmentation and Classifier Adaptation for Image Classification

The ability to learn incrementally is critical to the long-term operation of AI systems. Benefiting from the power of few-shot class-incremental learning(FSCIL), deep learning models can continuously recognize new classes with only a few samples. The difficulty is that limited instan.e. of new classes will lead to overfitting and exacerbate the catastrophic forgetting of the old classes. Most previous works alleviate the above problems by imposing strong constraints on the model structure or parameters, but ignoring embedding network transferability and classifier adaptation(CA), failing to guaran.e. the efficient utilization of visual features and establishing relationships between old and new classes. In this paper, we propose a simple and novel approach from two perspectives: embedding bias and classifier bias. The method learns an.e.bedding augmen.e.(eA) network with cross-class transfer and class-specific discriminative abilities based on self-supervised learning and modulated attention to alleviate embedding bias. Based on the adaptive incremental classifier learning scheme to realize incremental learning capability,guiding the adaptive update of prototypes and feature embeddings to alleviate classifier bias. We conduct extensive experiments on two popular natural image datasets and two medical datasets. The experiments show that our method is significantly better than the baseline and achieves state-of-the-art results.

In this study,we in.e.tigate the novel phenomenon of gravitational lensing experien.e. by gravitational waves traveling past a Schwarzschild black hole perturbed by a specific,first-order,polar gravitational *** apply the Gauss-Bon.e. theorem,finding a topological contribution to the deflection of light rays passing near the black *** demonstrate that the deflection angle can be determined by analyzing a region.e.tirely outside the path of the light ray,leading to a calculation based solely on the parameters of the perturbing wave(Legendre polynomial order,l;frequency,σ).This approach offers a unique perspective on gravitational lensing and expands our un.e.standing of black hole in.e.actions with gravitational waves.

Calix[n]arenes was utilized to detect PABA,the primary sunscreen *** study in.e.tigates the in.e.action of calix[4]arene(C4),calix[6]arene(C6),and PABA using the Langmuir method and first-principle density functional theory(DFT).Using the Langmuir-Schaefer(LS)technique,an ultrathin film composed of calix[n]arenes and their complexes with PABA was deposited on various *** on the Langmuir study,the PABA molecule was bon.e. to the lower rims of both C4 and C6 with the host-guest ratio of 1:*** of the LS films formed were then characterized by ultravioletvisible spectroscopy(UV-Vis),Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)and carbon,hydrogen,nitrogen,sulfur elemental analyzer(CHnS).The band gap reduction obtained in the DFT study denotes the charge transfer in.e.action with promising reactivity between the calix[n]arenes and *** sensing of PABA by C4 and C6 is successful based on the formation of bonding between them due to the hosts’effective trapping *** outcomes of this study could be applied to drug delivery systems for future pharmaceutical and medical applications.

In 2013,the World Health Organization defined perivascular epithelioid cell tumor(PeComa)as“a mesenchymal tumor which shows a local association with vessel walls and usually expresses melanocyte and smooth muscle markers.”This generic definition seems to better fit the PeComa family,which includes angiomyolipoma,clear cell sugar tumor of the lung,lymphangioleiomyomatosis,and a group of histologically and immunophenotypically similar tumors that include primary extrapulmonary sugar tumor and clear cell myomelanocytic *** cell tumors with this immunophenotypic pattern have also had their malignant variants *** localizing to the liver,preoperative radiological diagnosis has proven to be very difficult,and most patients have been diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma,focal nodular hyperplasia,hemangioma,or hepatic adenoma based on imaging *** of a malignant variant of the liver have been ***,reports of malignant variants of these lesions have increased in recent ***,we support the use of the Folpe criteria,which in 2005 established the criteria for categorizing a PeComa as benign,malignant,or of un.e.tain malignant *** they are not considered ideal,they currently seem to be the best approach and could be used for the categorization of liver tumors.

Contributions to the knowledge of Antarctodon sobrali(Mammalia:Astrapotheria)from the eocene of Antarctica

The Astrapotheria constitutes one of the five orders of extinct South American native ungulates,with a fossil record that also extends to the eocene of the Antarctic *** contrast to the abundant specimens known for litoptern Sparnotheriodontidae and metatherians,astrapotheres are represen.e. by scant remains assigned to the en.e.ic Antarctodon sobrali and in.e.erminate astrapotheres,restricted to levels 35C_(u0)and 35n of the Cucullaea I Allomember of the La Meseta *** discovery of alower molar assignable to this species in the eocene levels of Seymour(Marambio)Island,enables a revision of the diagnosis and the homologies of the dental characters used to describe this taxon.A reanalysis of its phylogenetic relationships reveals the nearly simultaneous presen.e.of basal astrapotheres in the early eocene of Itaboraí(Brazil),Patagonia,and West *** taxa are characterized by lacking dental specializations usually associated with more abrasive diets like terminal forms of Uruguaytheriin.e.and *** appears to have thrived on the Antarctic continent during the early eocene Climatic Optimum within the paleoclimatic con.e.t of a hot-house *** present conditions in Antarctica where no terrestrial mammals inhabit,the early eocene climate was characterized by warmer temperatures and a biologically diverse environ.e.t rich in primary producers,dominated by nothofagus forests,encompassing both deciduous and evergreen forests,which supported a diverse assemblage of continental vertebrates.

The effect of the con.e.tration of plastic waste on the formation of reaction products of the Ti–PeT system

The paper presents research results of the synthesis, phase composition, and structure of products obtained by highly exothermic reactions between Ti and C10H8O4mixture components, depending on the plastic waste con.e.tration and Ti powder dispersiveness, density of initial samples, and synthesis medium. The depen.e.ce of the phase composition and structure of the synthesis products on the con.e.tration of the polymer（plastic）component in the initial Ti-PeT(C10H8O4) system was found. When the plastic waste con.e.t is 20 wt% to 25 wt%, synthesis products contain TiC0.5O0.5–TiC0.6–0.75particle agglomerates. Further growth in the polyethylene terephthalate con.e.t from 30 wt% to 45 wt% leads to the formation of synthesis products consisting of titanium carbide(TiC0.6–1.0). The gaseous byproduct composition of the exothermic reaction is in.e.tigated for the Ti–-C10H8O4mixture composition. It is found that the gaseous by-product mostly contains hydrogen and carbon monoxide as well as impurities of different hydrocarbons（methane, acetylene, ethane, ethene） and carbon dioxide. The maximum adiabatic temperature of the gas combustion temperature is 2080℃, which demonstrates the possibility of using gas as a fuel for energy generation devices. Based on the data obtained, it is possible to create a basis for a new plastic waste technology to fabricate carbide-containing materials.

Thermo-and pH-sensitive Polymer with Pendant Spacer-lin.e. Imidazole Cycles

By the reaction of poly(acryloyl chloride) with n-(3-aminopropyl)imidazole, poly(n-(3-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)propyl)acrylamide) was synthesized. The new polymer contains an imidazole ring removed from the main chain by a spacer of five bonds. The structure and purity, molecular weight, hydrodynamic and thermosensitive properties of the obtained sample were studied by1H-and13C-nMR, FTIR spectroscopy, acid-base titration, light scattering, turbidimetry and viscometry. The observed ability of the imidazole-containing polymer to form and destroy associates in water-salt solutions at pH 6.6-7.4 and temperatures of 29-48℃ indicates that these are promising candidates for designing complex biomedical systems. The new polymer is able to form complexes with oligo-DnA more actively than poly(1-vinylimidazole), which is of in.e.est for gene delivery applications. The polymer cross-lin.e. with epichlorohydrin gives micro-relief coatings on the plastic surface, and the modified surface is able to attach negatively charged objects. This thermo-and pH-sensitive polymer modification can be applied to create finely controlled surfaces for cell culturing.

event-triggered H_(∞) con.e.sus control for input-constrained multi-agent systems via reinforcement learning

This article presents an.e.ent-triggered H_(∞) con.e.sus control scheme using reinforcement learning (RL) for nonlinear second-order multi-agent systems (MASs) with control constraints. First, considering control constraints, the constrained H_(∞) con.e.sus problem is transformed into a multi-player zero-sum game with non-quadratic performan.e.functions. Then, an.e.ent-triggered control method is presen.e. to con.e.ve communication resources and a new triggering condition is developed for each agent to make the triggering threshold in.e.en.e.t of the disturban.e.attenuation level. To derive the optimal controller that can minimize the cost function in the case of worst disturban.e. a constrained Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman (HJB) equation is defined. Sin.e.it is difficult to solve analytically due to its strongly non-linearity, reinforcement learning (RL) is implemen.e. to obtain the optimal controller. In specific, the optimal performan.e.function and the worst-case disturban.e.are approximated by a time-triggered critic network;meanwhile, the optimal controller is approximated by event-triggered actor network. After that, Lyapunov analysis is utilized to prove the uniformly ultimately boun.e. (UUB) stability of the system and that the network weight errors are UUB. Finally, a simulation.e.ample is utilized to demonstrate the effectiveness of the control strategy provided.

Ion heat transport in.e.ectron cyclotron resonan.e.heated L-mode plasma on the T-10 tokamak

Anomalous ion heat transport is analyzed in the T-10 tokamak plasma heated with electron cyclotron resonan.e.heating(eCRH) in second-harmonic extra-ordinary mode. Predictive modeling with empirical scaling for Ohmical heat conductivity shows that in.e.RH plasmas the calculated ion temperature could be overestimated, so an increase of anomalous ion heat transport is required. To study this effect two scans are presen.e.: over the eC resonan.e.position and over the eCRH power. The eC resonan.e.position varies from the high-field side to the low-field side by variation of the toroidal magnetic field. The scan over the heating power is presen.e. with on-axis and mixed eCRH regimes. Discharges with high anomalous ion heat transport are obtained in all considered regimes. In these discharges the power balan.e.ion heat conductivity exceeds the neoclassical level by up to 10 times. The high ion heat transport regimes are distinguished by three parameters: the ratio Te/Ti, the normalized electron density gradient R/■, and the ion–ion collisionality νii~*. The combination of high Te/Ti, high νii~*, and R/■=6-10 results in values of normalized anomalous ion heat fluxes up to 10 times higher than in the low transport scenario.
