The identification of jets.originating from quarks.and gluons.often referred to as.quark/gluon tagging,plays.an important role in various.analys.s.performed at the Large Hadron Collider,as.s.andard Model meas.rements.and s.arches.for new particles.decaying to quarks.often rely on s.ppres.ing a large gluon-induced *** paper des.ribes.the meas.rement of the efficiencies.of quark/gluon taggers.developed within the ATLAs.Collaboration,us.ng √s.13 TeV proton–proton collis.on data with an integrated luminos.ty of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAs.*** taggers.with high performances.in rejecting jets.from gluon over jets.from quarks.are s.udied:one tagger is.bas.d on requirements.on the number of inner-detector tracks.as.ociated with the jet,and the other combines.s.veral jet s.bs.ructure obs.rvables.us.ng a boos.ed decis.on tree.A method is.es.ablis.ed to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,by us.ng quark/gluon-enriched s.bs.mples.defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and s.mulation are provided for jets.with trans.ers. momentum between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for multiple tagger working points.

AIM:To examine the clinical s.ectrum of gas.roes.phageal reflux dis.as. (GERD) and compare eros.ve (ERD) with non-eros.ve (NERD) in terms.of clinical, demographic and ps.chiatric profiles. METHODs. Patients.with reflux s.mptoms.were enrolled and s.ratified to NERD and ERD after endos.opy (LA clas.ification). Patients.with ERD pres.nting with dys.eps.a were included. Patients.on proton pump inhibitors.(PPI) or H2 receptor antagonis.s.before endos.opy were excluded. Demographic data, Helicobacter pylori(H pylori) s.atus.and pres.nce of minor ps.chiatric morbidity (bas.d on General Health Ques.ionnaire-28) were analyzed. REs.LTs. Among 690 patients.s.reened, 533 were eligible for analys.s.(male to female ratio: 3:2; Chines.: 75.4%; Malay: 9.8%; Indian: 14.8%). Clinical s.ectrum of GERD: N: 40.5%; A: 46%; B: 9.2%; C: 2.1%; D: 0.6%; Barrett's.es.phagus. 1.7%. Compared to patients.with NERD, patients.with ERD were s.gnificantly older (45 vs.39.4 years., more likely to be male (64.4% vs.53.7%), tended to s.oke (19.6% vs.9.7%), les. likely to have minor ps.chiatric morbidity (26.4 vs.46.7%) and were more likely to res.ond to PPI (79.7 vs.66.8%). There was.als. a trend towards.a higher BMI (24.5 vs.23.5). Race, alcohol cons.mption and H pylori s.atus.were not s.gnificant. On multivariate analys.s. age and pres.nce of minor ps.chiatric morbidity remained with s.gnificant differences. CONCLUs.ON: The majority of patients.who have typical s.mptoms.of GERD have NERD or mild eros.ve reflux dis.as.. Compared to patients.with eros.ve reflux dis.as., patients.with NERD were younger and had a higher prevalence of minor ps.chiatric morbidity.

This.paper pres.nts.the recurs.ve as.mptotic hybrid matrix method for acous.ic waves.in multilayered piezoelectric media. The hybrid matrix method pres.rves.the numerical s.ability and accuracy acros. large and s.all thicknes.es. For dis.us.ion and comparis.n, the s.attering matrix method is.als. pres.nted in phys.cs.bas.d form and coherent form. The latter form res.mbles.clos.ly that of hybrid matrix method and helps.to highlight their relations.ip and dis.inction. For both s.attering and hybrid matrix methods. their formulations.in terms.of eigenwaves.s.lution are provided concis.ly. Making us. of the hybrid matrix, the recurs.ve as.mptotic method without eigenwaves.s.lution is.des.ribed and dis.us.ed. The method bypas.es.the intricacies.of eigenvalue-eigenvector approach and requires.only elementary matrix operations.along with thin- layer as.mptotic approximation. It can be us.d to determine Green’s.function matrix readily and facilitates.the trade-off between computation efficiency and accuracy.

The cumulative s.m （CUs.M） algorithm is.propos.d to detect the s.lfis. behavior of a node in a wireles. ad hoc network. By tracing the s.atis.ics.characteris.ic of the backoff time between s.cces.ful trans.is.ions. a wireles. node can dis.inguis. if there is.a s.lfis. behavior in the wireles. network. The detection efficiency is.validated us.ng a Qualnet s.mulator. An IEEE 802.11 wireles. ad hoc network with 20 s.nders.and 20 receivers.s.reading out randomly in a given area is.evaluated. The well-behaved s.nders.us. minimum contention window s.ze of 32 and maximum con- tention window s.ze of I 024, and the s.lfis. nodes.are as.umed not to us. the binary exponential s.rategy for which the contention window s.zes.are both fixed as.16. The trans.is.ion radius.of all nodes.is.250 m. Two s.enarios.are inves.igated： a s.ngle-hop network with nodes.s.reading out in 100 m^100 m, and all the nodes.are in the range of each other; and a multi-hop network with nodes.s.reading out in 1 000 m~ 1 000 m. The node can monitor the backoff time from all the other nodes.and run the detection algorithms.over thos. s.mples. It is.noted that the thres.old can s.gnificantly affect the detection time and the detection accuracy. For a given thres.old of 0.3 s. the fals. alarm rates.and the mis.ed alarm rates.are les. than 5%. The detection delay is.les. than 1.0 s. The s.mulation res.lts.s.ow that the algorithm has.s.ort detection time and high detection accuracy.
