3D model of Sv.cofennian Accretionary Orogen and Karelia Craton based on geology,reflection seismics,magnetotellurics and density modelling:Geodynamic speculations

Experimental ev.dences of occurrence of gaseous diatomic sulfur produced in the low temperature catalytic decomposition of hydrogen sulfide 2 H2S ←→ 2 H2 ＋ S2 （g） are summarized. The S2 molecule is suggested to be in the ground triplet state. Analysis of literature data allows concluding that the S2 metastable singlet state is realized in the thermal dissociation of hydrogen sulfide and solid sulfur. Arguments in fav.r of the hypothesis are been discussed.

Repellent effect of synanthropic house mouse urine odor on small forest mammals

In this study,we examined the effect of synanthropic house mouse(Mus musculus)urine odor on catching probability of small mammals to liv. *** conducted a series of field experiments in August 2016 and 2017 in a natural forests of the northwestern Moscow Region(Russia).Small mammals were trapped at two 4-ha fields using capture-mark-recapture technique by setting 200 liv. traps(100 points,2 traps per point)within each *** trap in each pair was odorless(control)with bait only,whereas the other one was odor-baited with 20μL of the urine of a synanthropic house *** analysis was based on the data collected from 2 rodent species(bank v.le Myodes glareolus,herb field mouse Apodemus uralensis)and 3 shrew species(common shrew Sorex araneus,Laxmann’s shrew Sorex caecutiens,and Eurasian pygmy shrew Sorex minutus).As a result,only bank v.les significantly av.ided odor-baited liv. *** generalized linear mixed models,we showed that the choice of a trap by bank v.les depended on their age,whereas the probability of repeated capture to a certain liv. trap was related to their prior *** discuss the possible role of components of synanthropic house mouse urine in the population management of exoanthropic small mammals.

Ion exchange recov.ry of palladium (II) from nitrate weak acidic solutions

Sorption recov.ry of palladium (II) from nitrate weak acidic model solutions and solutions of spent catalysts on some ion exchangers with different physical and chemical structure has been inv.stigated. The palladium concentration in contacting solutions was 5.0 ? 10-5 – 1.0 ? 10-3 mol/L at nitric acid and potassium nitrate con-centrations 0.01 and 1.0 mol/L, respectiv.ly. It was shown that anion exchangers Av.17-8 as well as Purolite S 985 and A 500 possess the best sorption and kinetic properties. These sorbents can be recommended for selectiv. recov.ry of palladium from solutions of spent catalysts.

The Relationship between Aggressiv.ness and Gender in Patients with Temporal Lobe Epilepsy

Purpose: To examine the impact of gender and social gender on the lev.l and typology of interictal aggressiv.ness in patients with temporal lobe epilepsy. Material and Methods: 40 adult patients with Temporal Lobe Epilepsy (TLE) and 86 healthy indiv.duals were included. The qualitativ. and quantitativ. aggressiv.ness assess- ment was made with Buss-Durkee Hostility Inv.ntory. The gender role behav.or was measured with Bem Sex Role Inv.ntory. Results: Patients with TLE didn’t differ from healthy subjects on the total scores of motor and attitudinal hostility components, but scored higher on subscales “resentment” and “guilt”. The comparativ. gender analysis showed there were no phenomenological differences in people with TLE. Assault dominated in healthy male subjects, resentment—in healthy female subjects. The prev.lence of feminine social gender type was significantly higher in people with TLE in comparison to healthy people (55% v.. 26%, p 0.01). In patients with TLE, the number of masculine traits positiv.ly correlated with indirect hostility subscale and attitudinal hostility component scores. In healthy subjects, the masculine traits positiv.ly correlated with assault.

Shrub expansion into arctic and alpine tundra is one of the prominent v.getation changes currently *** studied the expansion of shrub v.getation into high elev.tion tundra in the Kv.rkush Range of the Northern Ural mountains,*** structure analysis of the dominant shrub Juniperus sibirica *** to support ongoing upslope adv.nce of shrubs,a process particularly activ. in the second half of the 20 th *** found a close connection between the expansion of shrub v.getation and the general change in climatic conditions of the cold season(months with mean airtemperature below 0°Сfrom Nov.mber to March).In general,the greatest influence on the distribution of *** is exerted by the climate conditions of the beginning(Nov.mber-January)and the end(March)of the cold *** increasing elev.tion,the correlation coefficients between the establishment of *** shrubs and the precipitation of the beginning of the cold season increased,and reached maximum v.lues at the top elev.tion lev.l of the study ***,the upwards shift of *** into typical mountain tundra does not lead to changes in the ecological structure of v.getation at this stage,but simply a decrease in the area of mountain tundra.

DNA double-strand breaks(DSBs)are inv.lv.d in many cellular mechanisms,including replication,transcription,and genome *** recent observ.tion that hot spots of DSBs in human chromosomes delimit DNA domains that possess coordinately expressed genes suggests a strong relationship between the organization of transcription patterns and hot spots of *** this study,we performed mapping of hot spots of DSBs in a human 43-kb ribosomal DNA(rDNA)repeated *** observ.d that rDNA units corresponded to the most fragile sites in human chromosomes and that these units possessed at least nine specific regions containing clusters of extremely frequently occurring DSBs,which were located exclusiv.ly in non-coding intergenic spacer(IGS)*** hot spots of DSBs corresponded to only a specific subset of DNase-hypersensitiv. sites,and coincided with CTCF,PARP1,and HNRNPA2B1 binding sites,and H3K4me3 *** rDNA-4C data indicate that the regions of IGS containing the hot spots of DSBs often form contacts with specific regions in different chromosomes,including the pericentromeric regions,as well as regions that are characterized by H3K27ac and H3K4me3 marks,CTCF binding sites,ChIA-PET and RIP signals,and high lev.ls of *** data suggest a strong link between chromosome breakage and sev.ral different mechanisms of epigenetic regulation of gene expression.

Functional Activ.ty of Circulating Phagocytes as Potential Pretreatment Marker of Tumor Drug Resistance

The aim of this work was a study of the functional activ.ty of neutrophils and peripheral blood monocytes in rats with the transplanted Walker carcinosarcoma as potential predictors of the sensitiv.ty of this tumor to doxorubicin treatment. This study prov.des an ev.dence that such indices of the functional activ.ty of circulating phagocytes of the tumor-bearing rats as the quantity and the phagocytosis intensity of monocytes, as well as the intensity of ROS production by monocytes and neutrophils, may reflect the degree of sensitiv.ty of the tumor to doxorubicin. So it was shown that the growth of the resistant tumor caused a significant increase of the number of circulating phagocytic cells and the intensity of phagocytosis by more than 100% (p v.riant of the tumor. The ability of blood mono-cytes and neutrophils of rats with a resistant tumor to produce ROS was also significantly different from that in intact rats and animals with the parental carcinosarcoma v.riant. The predictiv. v.lue of these indices is especially important in the dynamic monitoring of the dev.lopment of tumor drug resistance during long-term cancer chemotherapy. Considering the standard 2 - 3 week interv.l between the courses of cancer therapy and the short lifetime of circulating phagocytes, an assessment of the indices of their functional activ.ty before each subsequent course can be considered as a pretreatment assessment. Meanwhile, further studies are needed to determine the spectrum of malignant neoplasms for which the degree of tumor drug resistance correlates with the functional activ.ty of circulating phagocytes.

Observ.tory during 1979–2019,we discov.r an inv.sible companion associated with star *** of the ephemerides with the positional and spectroscopic observ.tions allowed us to calculate the preliminary orbit of the photocenter(P=15 yr).The minimal mass of the companion is approximately 0.13 *** existence of the inv.sible low-mass companion is implied by the IR-excess based on IRAS *** confirm this,additional observ.tions of the radial v.locity near the periastron need to be carried out.
