AIM:To evaluate the effectiveness of infliximab as a second-line therapy.in Crohn's disease patients after adalimumab failure. METHODS:A historical cohort study.in a community.based gastroenterology.practice evaluated Crohn's disease patients treated with infliximab (induction plus maintenance) after adalimumab failure. patients were identified using a large Spanish database (ENEIDA). RESULTS:We included 15 Crohn's disease patients who received infliximab after adalimumab failure. Five patients discontinued adalimumab due to loss of response, 3 due to adverse events and 7 due to partial response. After infliximab therapy.was started, all patients who had interrupted adalimumab due to loss of efficacy.regained response. All patients who discontinued adalimumab due to adverse events responded to infliximab and maintained this response; one of these patients had an uneventful course on infliximab, but 2 developed adverse events. None of the 7 patients who interrupted adalimumab due to partial response reached remission with infliximab. CONCLUSION:Switching from adalimumab to infliximab may.be useful in patients who develop adverse effects or loss of response, however, the benefit of infliximab in primary.nonresponders was not established.

Nanoparticles(Nps)can be transported via the nose-to-brain(N_(2)B)***,quantitative data on their spatiotemporal dy.amics and regulation of the N_(2)B transport are largely.*** survey.d metal oxide/hy.roxide Nps as magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)contrasts for quantitative N_(2)B *** containing divalent transition metals were the only.ones capable of N_(2)B *** T1-weighted(T1W)MRI,we showed that Mn_(3)O_(4)-Nps were readily.engulfed by.olfactory.receptor neurons(ORNs)without disrupting olfactory.sensing,we mapped their N_(2)B *** neurons,the Mn_(3)O_(4)-Nps were localized to the cy.osol,mitochondria,vesicles,moved at mixed fast and slow axonal transport velocities intraand extra-vesicularly.through *** Nps’axonal transport is dependent on neuronal activity.and microtubule *** Mn_(3)O_(4)-Nps were trans-sy.aptically.transmitted through at least four sy.apses across the olfactory.***-sy.aptic transmission of the Nps was dependent on N-ty.e Ca^(2+)channels and NMDA receptors but blocked by.GABAB receptor activation.A five-parameter Weibull signal increase/decrease model fitted to the T1W MRI data allowed for estimating kinetic parameters of Mn_(3)O_(4)-Np accumulation/*** and relative accumulation rates,but not elimination,correlated negatively.with the number of sy.apses from ORNs,indicating a coupling of the Nps’N_(2)B transport with spontaneous neuronal ***,olfactory.stimuli(2,5-dimethy.py.azine and acetophenone)significantly.modulated and rerouted the Mn_(3)O_(4)-Np N_(2)B transport odor ***,the Nps’trans-sy.aptic transmission was impaired by.aging and the onset of parkinson’s *** data suggest new approaches to diagnostics,functional neuroimaging,controlling N_(2)B drug delivery.

众多植物多糖中,阿拉伯半乳聚糖对嗜黏蛋白阿克曼菌(Akkermansia muciniphila,Akk)模式菌株(DSM22959)的促生长效果最佳。为进一步探究阿拉伯半乳聚糖对Akk代谢物的影响,本研究将阿拉伯半乳聚糖作为部分碳源对Akk进行体外发酵培养,确定了阿拉伯半乳聚糖的补充量以便于Akk发酵液样本的后续分析,采用高分辨非靶向代谢组学技术对Akk发酵液样本中的差异代谢物进行了检测及分析。研究发现,菌株发酵液中呈显著变化(VIp>1,p<0.05)的差异代谢物共85种,差异代谢通路共32条。结果表明,阿拉伯半乳聚糖可通过影响新陈代谢通路、氨基酸生物合成通路、2-氧代羧酸代谢通路、ABC转运蛋白通路等代谢途径,促使Akk产生更多具有特殊功效的代谢产物如次黄嘌呤、罗汉松酯酚、丙酸等,分别具有减肥、抗癌及降血压的潜能。本研究结果为未来将阿拉伯半乳聚糖作为Akk的益生元或与Akk联合作为合生元提供了理论依据。

Cancer patient care requires a multi-disciplinary.approach and multiple medical and ethical *** care during a pandemic health crisis requires prioritising the use of resources for patients with a greater chance of survival,especially.in developing *** coronavirus disease 2019 crisis has generated new challenges given that cancer patients are normally.not prioritised for admission in critical care ***,the development of new cancer drugs and novel adjuvant/neoadjuvant protocols has dramatically.improved the prognosis of cancer patients,resulting in a more complex decision-making when prioritising intensive care in pandemic *** this context,it is essential to establish an effective and transparent communication between the oncology.team,critical care,and emergency.units to make the best decisions,considering the principles of justice and ***,cancer treatment protocols must be adapted to prioritise according to oncologic response and *** technologies are powerful tools to optimise cancer care during pandemics,and we must adapt quickly.to this new scenario of clinical care and *** this new challenging pandemic scenario,multi-disciplinary.work and effective communication between clinics,technology.science,and ethics is the key.to optimising clinical care of cancer patients.

无创性血糖检测仍是糖尿病患者护理安全舒适的现实科学任务。本文研究了血糖光学特性与血糖浓度之间的相关性。用时域THz光谱研究了全血在0.3~0.5 THz频率范围内的透射谱。在注射胰岛素后的短时间内,由同一糖尿病患者产生了生物样品。得到了血液光学特性的频散特性。基于频散,给出了血糖浓度与折射率和介电常数的关系式。这项工作是复杂研究的一部分,重点是无创葡萄糖测量技术的发展。记录血糖水平与血液光学参数之间的依赖关系,使得将来可以使用反射光谱技术进行无创血糖水平检测。

We have recently.announced that the General Catalogue of Variable Stars enters the stage of its fifth, purely.electronic edition （GCVS 5.1）. We have included 1408 variable stars in the constellation Centaurus in this new version, GCVS 5.1. Working on this revision, we applied current possibilities from data mining, suggested new variability.ty.es for many.variable stars and found new light elements for a large number of periodic variables. This paper describes the work completed during the preparation of GCVS 5.1 for Centaurus and discusses in detail a number of the most astrophy.ically.significant cases.

Morphological and ecological divergence in two populations of European glass lizard,pseudopus apodus(Squamata:Anguidae)

The European glass lizard,pseudopus apodus(pallas,1775),is a large,legless lizard with wide distribution across south-eastern Europe and eastern and central *** date,morphological diversification among populations on a geographically.small scale has not y.t been reported in this ***,we investigated the morphological variations and corresponding differences in habitat utilization between two populations of *** inhabiting the same biogeographical zone within a relatively.close geographic *** hy.othesized that minor differences in habitat could induce a significant level of morphological differentiation,thus indicating morphological plasticity.in this species on a small geographical *** sampled 164 individuals(92 from the Croatian mainland and 72 from the island of Cres).Results showed that *** indeed exhibited morphological differences between populations in the same biogeographical zone within a relatively.close geographic area,with the Cres Island individuals being generally.larger than the individuals from the *** ecological characteristics were similar in both populations(e.g.,soil temperature,distance to hiding place),whereas others were distinct(e.g.,air temperature and humidity..In addition,vegetation cover differed between the two sites,with more vegetation present on the mainland than on the ***,the Cres Island population showed clear sexual dimorphism,which was absent in the mainland population.
