A new theoretical method to study super-multiperiod superlattices has been *** method combines the precision of the 8-band kp-method with the flexibility of the shooting method and the Monte Carlo *** method was applied to examine the finest quality samples of super-multiperiod Al_(0.3)Ga_(0.7)As/GaAs superlattices grown by molecular beam *** express photoreflectance spectroscopy method was utilized to validate the proposed theoretical *** the first time,the accurate theoretical analysis of the energy band diagram of super-multiperiod superlattices with experimental verification has been *** proposed approach highly accurately determines transition peak positions and enables the calculation of the energy band diagram,transition energies,relaxation rates,and gain *** has achieved a remarkably low 5%error compared to the commonly used method,which typically results in a 25%error,and allowed to recover the superlattice *** retrieved intrinsic parameters of the samples aligned with XRD data and growth *** proposed method also accurately predicted the escape of the second energy level for quantum well thicknesses less than 5 nm,as was observed in photoreflectance *** new designs of THz light-emitting devices operating at room temperature were suggested by the developed method.

Dimensionality and orientation of hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN)nanosheets are promising to create and control their unique properties for diverse ***,low-temperature deposition of vertically oriented h-BN nanosheets is a significant *** we report on the low-temperature plasma synthesis of maze-like h-BN nanowalls(BNNWs)from a mixture of triethylamine borane(TEAB)and ammonia at temperatures as low as 400℃.The maze-like BNNWs contained vertically aligned stacks of h-BN *** h-BN nanowalls with randomly oriented nanocrystalline structure are also *** and effective control of morphological type of BNNWs by the deposition-mperature is *** the lower synthesis temperature,thermal stability and oxidation resistivity of the maze-like BNNWs are higher than for the wavy *** structure and oxidation of the nanowalls was found to be the critical factor for their thermal stability and con trolled luminescence *** study dem on strated sign ificant antibacterial effect of both maze-like and wavy h-BN nanowalls against *** reported results reveal a significant potential of h-BN nanowalls for a broad range of applications from electronics to biomedicine.

Synthetic CaSiO3 sol-gel powder and SPS ceramic derivatives: “In vivo” toxicity assessment

The paper presents template strategy using siloxane-acrylate latex and its modified form to prepare nanostructured calcium silicate(wollastonite) containing nanosized gold and regular porosity. Optimal conditions for the annealing of silicate xerogel were outlined leading to nanoporous wollastonite with minimal porous defects(pore size corresponds to latex particles 150–200 nm). The fabrication of nanostructured wollastonite ceramics was suggested to use spark plasma sintering(SPS). The formation of porous ceramic framework(compressive strength ～120 MPa) via SPS consolidation of silicate xerogel(xonotlite) contained latex template(poreformer),a feature of the method for wollastonite template synthesis. The ceramic wollastonite samples have been implanted into ICR/CD1 mice to test the toxicity of the material "in vivo". The results are of great interest for the preparation of high-quality biomaterials for modern medicine using simple technological approaches and available raw materials.

Revealing True and False Brain States Based on Wavelet Analysis of Electroencephalogram

Statement of the Problem: As you know, there exist two different states in the brain’s mental activity: true and false. In recent years, a progressive method of wavelet transformation of the electroencephalogram (EEG) has been developed, which enabled us to establish the fundamental possibility of direct objective registration of the human brain’s mental activity. Earlier, we created an experimental model and software for recognizing true and false mental responses of a person based on the EEG wavelet transformation and described it in the article. The developed experimental model and information software made it possible to compare the two mental states of brain activity by electroencephalographic indicators, one of which is false and the other is true. The goal is to develop a fundamentally new information technology for recognizing true and false states in the brain’s mental activity based on the wavelet transformation of the electroencephalogram. Results: It was revealed that the true and false states of the brain can be distinguished using the method of continuous wavelet transformation and calculation of the EEG wavelet energy. It is shown that the main differences between true and false mental responses are observed in the delta and alpha ranges of the EEG. In the EEG delta rhythm, the wavelet energy is reliably higher in case of a false answer compared to a true one. In the EEG alpha rhythm, the wavelet energy is significantly higher with a true answer than a false one. Practical significance of the research: The data obtained open up the fundamental possibility of identifying true and false mental states of the brain on the basis of continuous wavelet transformation and calculation of the EEG wavelet energy.
