As the population ages,the burden of age-related diseases becomes ***,over 55 million people suffer from dementia worldwide,with Alzheimer’s disease being the most common ***,it is becoming clearer that underlying vascular pathology such as cerebral small vessel disease(cSVD)may be a more detrimental cause for dementia(Cuadrado-Godia et al.,2018).It is estimated that 10%-30%of the elderly population and 35%-90%of all dementia patients exhibit signs of *** term cSVD refers to pathology affecting the small vessels of the brain,which can lead to lacunar cerebral infarcts,enlarged perivascular spaces,and cortical hemorrhages(Cuadrado-Godia et al.,2018).CSVD is often associated with cognitive decline,gait problems,and dementia(Cuadrado-Godia et al.,2018).

Maintaining the integrity and longevity of structures is essential in many industries,such as aerospace,nuclear,and *** achieve the cost-effectiveness of large-scale systems in petroleum drilling,a strong emphasis on structural durability and monitoring is *** study focuses on the mechanical vibrations that occur in ro.ary drilling systems,which have a substantial impact on the structural integrity of drilling *** study speciﬁcally investigates axial,torsio.al,and lateral vibrations,which might lead to negative consequences such as bit-bounce,chaotic whirling,and high-frequency *** events not only hinder the efﬁciency of drilling but also lead to exhaustion and harm to the system’s components since they are difﬁcult to be detected and controlled in real *** study investigates the dynamic interactions of these vibrations,speciﬁcally in their high-frequency modes,usingﬁeld data obtained from measurement while ***ﬁndings have demonstrated the effect of strong coupling between the high-frequency modes of these vibrations on drilling sys-tem *** obtained results highlight the importance of considering the interconnected impacts of these vibrations when designing and implementing robust control ***,integrating these compo-nents can increase the durability of drill bits and drill strings,as well as improve the ability to monitor and detect ***,by exploiting theseﬁndings,the assessment of structural resilience in ro.ary drilling systems can be ***,the study demonstrates the capacity of structural health monitoring to improve the quality,dependability,and efﬁciency of ro.ary drilling systems in the petroleum industry.

The Safaga Region(SR)is part of the Red Sea mountain range in *** flash flooding is now an inescapable event,wreaking havoc and causing massive loss of life and *** majority of the floodwater,however,has been wasted as runoff to the Red Sea,which,if used wisely,could meet a fraction of the water demands for a variety of applications in this *** current work aims to use GIS techniques to integrate remote sensing data for evaluating,mitigating,and managing flash floods in *** data set comprised Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission(TRMM)thematic rainfall data,1:50,000 scale topographical map sheets,geological maps,the ASTER Digital Elevation Model(ASTER GDEM),Landsat 7 Enhanced Thematic Mapper"(ETM7+),and Landsat 8 operatio.al Land *** flash flood risk model of SR is developed using ArcGIS-10.3 geoprocessing tools integrating all the causal factors thematic *** final flood risk model for the SR suggests that 57%of the to.al basins in the SR are at high risk of *** 38%of all basins are at moderate flood *** remaining 5%of basins are less prone to ***-prone zones were identified,suitable dam-building sites were lo.ated,and extremely pro.able areas for water recharge were *** the basis of reliable scientific data,structural and non-structural mitigation strategies that might reduce the damage susceptibility,alleviate the sensitivity of the flash flood,and best utilize its water supply were recommended.

The hepatic immune system is designed to tolerate diverse harmless foreign moieties to maintain homeostasis in the healthy *** priming and regulation ensure that appropriate immune activation occurs when challenged by pathogens and tissue *** to.accurately discriminate,regulate,or effectively resolve inflammation offsets this balance,jeo.ardizing overall tissue health resulting from an either overly tolerant or an overactive inflammatory *** scientific and clinical evidence links dysregulated hepatic immune and inflammatory responses upon sterile injury to several pathological conditions in the liver,particularly no.alcoholic steatohepatitis and ischemia-reperfusion *** and human studies have described interactions between diverse immune repertoires and nonhematopoietic cell populations in both physiological and pathological activities in the liver,although the molecular mechanisms driving these associations are not clearly ***,we review the dynamic roles of inflammatory mediators in responses to sterile injury in the context of homeostasis and disease,the clinical implications of dysregulated hepatic immune activity and therapeutic developments to regulate liver-specific immunity.

Benzo.azinone 2 was prepared and reacted with formamide,acetamide,some primary aro.atic amines and heterocyclic amines giving the corresponding quinazolone derivatives 3-15 *** reaction of benzo.azinone 2 with hydrazine hydrate and phenyl hydrazine was also *** compounds of the synthesized products were evaluated as antioxidants and corrosion inhibitors for gasoline engine lubricating *** highest antioxidant activities were obtained with compounds *** optimum concentration recommended for these new additives was found to be *** for 1L ofoil for compounds *** addition,some of the highly effective antioxidant additives,namely 10-15,were thermally analyzed by using thermogravimetric analysis （TGA） and differential thermal gravimetric analysis （DTGA） techniques and the results indicated that compounds are thermally stable and could be used under thermal ***,a comparison of the oxidation stability between the tested oil containing the prepared products and lubricating oil containing commercial additives was also studied.

A Novel Approach in Hydrogeochemical Explo.ation for Uranium Mineralization:an Example from West Central Sinai,Egypt

Groundwater in contact with ore deposits may acquire a chemical composition that could be used as a guide for explo.ation. Eight well-water samples are collected from a known uraniummineralized area near Abu Zenima, west central Sinai to examine the applicability of using the hydrogeochemical technique in the search for uranium mineralization in similar arid areas. The analytical chemical data of the ground water is compared with ground radiometric measurements. The obtained results indicate that groundwater affected by uranium mineralization has a specific relativity of major anions expressed essentially as So_4〉Cl〉HCo_3 and to.a lesser extent as Cl〉So_4〉HCo_3, associated as a rule with low magnesium content. This association constitutes a signature of uranium mineralization on the composition of groundwater in west central Sinai and could be used as an important explo.ation guide in the search for uranium deposits in similar areas. Ano.alies in Ni, Fe, Zn and Cr and other pathfinder elements in groundwater can furnish geochemical guides to uranium ores. The immobile trace element ano.alies, including Zn, Ni and Fe are strongly distributed near the orebody; whereas the relatively mobile trace elements, including Co, U, V and Cr, constitute the dispersion haloes away from the orebody. A new hydrogeochemical discrimination diagram is constructed to be used as a quick and cost effective explo.ation tool in the search for uranium occurrences in environmentally similar arid areas. Based on the obtained results, a new site for uranium occurrence, west of W. Baba, is delineated and recommended for future detailed geological and geochemical surveying.

Frequency of diabetic retino.athy and associated risk factors in Khartoum,Sudan:population based study

AIM： To.assess the frequency and associated risk fac- tors of diabetic retino.athy among Sudanese individuals with diabetes attending Makka Eye complex in Khartoum, Sudan. METHoDS： The cross sectio.al hospital based study recruited 316 individuals with diabetes from Makkah Eye Complex Retina Clinic. Standard questionnaire was used to collect demographic data, medical history and life style characteristics. Blood samples were taken to measure HbAlc and lipid profile. Fundus and slit lamp examination were performed for screening of diabetic retino.athy. RESULTS： Among 316 participants, 187 （59.2%） were males and 129 （40.8%） were females. The mean age of participants was 58.7＋_10.5y. The overall frequency of retino.athy was 261 （82.6%）. The percentages of the to.al participants with proliferative diabetic retino.athy （PDR） were 126 （39.9%） and non-proliferative diabetic retino.athy （NPDR） were 135 （42.7%）. importantly, duration of diabetes mellitus （DM）（72.2% of more than 10y）, being on o.al hypoglycaemic drugs （versus insulin）, and hypertension were all significant risk factors for diabetic retino.athy （P=0.00, 0.01 and 0.00 respectively）. Complications ofdiabetes like diabetic foot （17.7%）, history of amputation （6.7%） and clinically significant macular edema （CSME）（47.4%） of the eyes were all significant risk factors （P〈0.05）. Logistic regression analysis showed that duration of diabetes, hypertension and CSME were found to be absolute risk factors （P=-0.007, 0.003 and 0,000 respectively）. Duration of DM of more than 10y have more than double risk （oR--2.8）, while having hypertension triples the risk of retino.athy （oR=3.1）. CoNCLUSIoN： High rates of diabetic retino.athy are noted among individuals with diabetes attending Makkah Eye hospital in capital Khartoum. Urgent strategies are needed to monitor and treat hypertension and optimize diabetes control in individuals with diabetes. More investment in diabetes services is urgently needed.

Methanotrophic based process can be the remedy to offset the wastewater treatment facilities increasing energy requirements due to methanotroph＇s unique ability to integrate methane assimilation with multiple biotechnological applications like biological nitrogen remo.al and methanol production. Regardless of the methanotrophic process end product, the challenge to maintain stable microbial growth in the methanotrophs cultivation bioreactor at higher cell densities is one of the major obstacles facing the process upscaling. Therefore, a series of consecutive batch tests were performed to.attentively investigate the bio.ass density influence on type I methanotrophs bacterial growth. In addition, food to microorganisms（F/M）, carbon to nitrogen（C/N） and nitrogen to microorganisms（N/M） ratio effect on the microbial activity was studied for the first time. It was clarified that the F/M ratio is the most influencing factor on the microbial growth at higher bio.ass densities rather than the bio.ass density increase, whereas C/N and N/M ratio change, while using nitrate as the nitrogen source,does not influence methanotrophs microbial growth. These study results would facilitate the scaling up of methanotrophic based biotechnology by identifying that F/M ratio.as the key parameter that influences methanotrophs cultivation at high bio.ass densities.
