This study investigates the effects of selected petrophysical properties on predicting flowing well bottomhole *** efficiently situate the essence of this investigation,genetic,imperialist competitive and whale optimization algorithms were used in predicting the bottomhole pressure of a reservoir using production data and some selected petrophysical properties as independent input variables.A total of 15,633 data sets were collected from Volvo field in Norway,and after screening the data,a total of 9161 data sets were used to develop apt computational intelligence *** data were randomly divided into three different groups:training,validation,and testing *** case scenarios were considered in this *** first scenario involved the prediction of flowing bottomhole pressure using only eleven independent variables,while the second scenario bothered on the prediction of the same flowing bottomhole pressure using the same independent variables and two selected petrophysical properties(porosity and permeability).Each of the two scenarios involved as implied in the first scenario,the use of three(3)heuristic search optimizers to determine optimal model *** optimizers were allowed to choose the optimal number of layers(between 1 and 10),the optimal number of nodal points(between 10 and 100)for each layer and the optimal learning rate required per task/*** results,showed that the models were able to learn the problems well with the learning rate fixed from 0.001 to 0.0001,although this became successively slower as the leaning rate *** the chosen model configuration,the results suggest that a moderate learning rate of 0.0001 results in good model performance on the trained and tested data *** the three heuristic search optimizers based on minimum MSE,RMSE,MAE and highest coefficient of determination(R^(2))for the actual and predicted values,shows that the imperialist competitive algorithm optimizer predicted

The world is confronted by the current pandemic of Corona Virus Disease(CoVID-19),which is a wake-up call for all nations irrespective of their development status or geographical *** the start of the century we have seen five big infectious outbreaks which proved that epidemics are no more regarded as historic and geographically confined *** Canadian government underlined that these infectious disease outbreaks are threats to global health security and disrupt societal wellbeing and *** this context,the Public Health Agency of Canada is proactive and has shown its preparedness for outbreaks of emerging and epidemic-prone diseases,and in dealing with these *** before the declaration of pandemic,Canada has proved its global health leadership by ensuring collective action and multisectoral coordination which still remains a serious challenge especially for low and middle-income countries with existing poor health *** this article we discuss how Canada is addressing the global challenges posed by the CoVID-19 pandemic through its leadership and practice of global health diplomacy.

Background:Mass media exposure plays a pivotal role in health communication and adoption of a healthy *** this study,we aimed to measure the prevalence of malaria prevention behaviour among adult women in eight malariaendemic countries in sub-Saharan Africa(SSA),and assess the influence of mass media exposure in the adoption of those ***:For this study,we collected cross-sectional data on 46,822 women aged between 15 and 49 years from the Malaria Indicator Surveys(MIS)conducted in Burkina Faso,Ghana,Mali,Malawi,Kenya,Nigeria,Sierra Leone and *** the outcome variable,malaria prevention behaviour was proxied by the use of insecticide treated nets(ITNs)and uptake of antimalarial drugs in last ***:The overall prevalence of sleeping under ITN and that of taking antimalarial drug during the last pregnancy was respectively 67.9%(95%CI=66.6-69.2)and 72.8%(95%CI=71.3-74.2).However,there were disparities in the prevalence of using ITN and antimalarial drug use across the study *** the multivariable regression analysis,not receiving malaria related information from radio,poster/billboards,community events,and health workers were found to be significantly associated with reduction in the odds of using ITN the previous *** the use of antimalarial drugs during last pregnancy,the odds were 23%[oR=0.773,95%CI=0.625-0.956]lower for those who did not receive malaria information on radio compared with those who ***:These findings indicate a potentially important role of malaria information received through mass media on utilisation of ITN among women in *** research is needed to explore the factors that limit the accessibility to malaria information through mass media.

Vitamin A Deficiency (VAD) is a major public health issue and of global concern, as it affects millions of preschool children and pregnant women worldwide. Bio-fortification has emerged as a technology with potential to sustainably alleviate VAD especially in the sub-Saharan Africa, using staples like cassava. This work studied bioavailability of beta carotene (BC) in two processed gari samples from bio-fortified cassava varieties: 01/1412 and 01/1371, using 40 weanling albino rats, grouped into four, acclimatized for 1 week and fed experimentally for 4 weeks. Plasma beta carotene (PBC) was determined with HPLC while bioavailable BC calculated using conventional linear dose response plot. The mean rat weight gain was 5.3 g with significant difference (pong them while mean PBC was 60.5 and 61.2 μg/dL for 01/1412 and 01/1371 respectively. From this study, a large variation of PBC among animals was found with a weak linear relationship between feed and PBC, showing that BC bioavailability is not limited to intake. The BC bioavailability of the samples was between 11% and 18% with sample from variety 01/1371 recording higher percentage (18%). Gari from bio-fortified cassava roots processed traditionally, had appreciable bioavailable BC, which can contribute to the fight against VAD and improve nutritional status in developing countries although the magnitude of the problem requires a combination of strategies, of which bio-fortification is just one. However, further work is necessary on public awareness and adoption of the product.

Application of artificial intelligence in predicting the dynamics of bottom hole pressure for under-balanced drilling:Extra tree compared with feed forward neural network model

This study used six fields data alongside correlation heat map to evaluate the field parameters that affect the accuracy of bottom hole pressure(BHP)*** six oil field data were acquired using measurement while drilling device to collect surface measurements of the downhole pressure data while *** the two case studies,measured field data of the wellbore filled with gasified mud system was utilized,and the wellbores were drilled using rotary jointed drill *** Randomized Tree and feed forward neural network algorithms were used to develop models that can predict with high accuracy,BHP from measured field *** modeling purpose,an extensive data from six fields was used,and the proposed model was further validated with two data from two new *** gathered data encompasses a variety of well data,general information/data,depths,hole size,and *** developed model was compared with data obtained from two new fields based on its capability,stability and *** result and model’s performance from the error analysis revealed that the two proposed Extra Tree and Feed Forward models replicate the bottom hole pressure data with R2 greater than *** high values of R^(2) for the two models suggest the relative reliability of the modelling *** magnitudes of mean squared error and mean absolute percentage error for the predicted BHPs from both models range from 0.33 to 0.34 and 2.02%-2.14%,for the Extra tree model and 0.40-0.41 and 3.90%e3.99%for Feed Forward model respectively;the least errors were recorded for the Extra Tree ***,the mean absolute error of the Extra Tree model for both fields(9.13-10.39 psi)are lower than that of the Feed Forward model(10.98-11 psi),thus showing the higher precision of the Extra Tree model relative to the Feed Forward *** has shown that underbalanced operation does not guarantee the improvement of horizontal well’s extension ability,because it mainly depends on t

Background： Sheep is important in the socio-economic lives of people around the world. It is estimated that more than half of our once common livestock breeds are now endangered. Since genetic characterization of Nigerian sheep is still lacking, we analyzed ten morphological traits on 402 animals and 15 microsatellite DNA markers in 384 animals of the 4 Nigerian sheep breeds to better understand genetic diversity for breeding management and germplasm conservation. Results： Morphological traits of Uda and Balami were significantly （P 〈 0.05） higher than Yankasa, which were both higher than West African Dwarf （WAD） sheep. Stepwise discriminant analysis showed tail length, rump height, chest girth, ear length and chest depth as the most discriminating variables for classification. Mahalanobis distances show the least differentiation between Uda and Balami and the largest between WAD and Balami sheep. While 93.3% of WAD sheep were correctly assigned to their source genetic group, 63.9% of Yankasa, 61.2% of Balami and 45.2% of Uda were classified correctly by nearest neighbour discriminant analysis. The overall high Polymorphism Information Content （PIC） of all microsatellite markers ranged from 0.751 to 0.927 supporting their use in genetic characterization. Expected heterozygosity was high for all loci （0.783 to 0.93）. Mean heterozygote deficiency across all populations （0.17] to 0.534） possibly indicate significant inbreeding （P 〈 0.05）. Mean values for FST, FIT and F^s statistics across all loci were 0.088, 0.394 and 0.336 respectively. Yankasa and Balami are the most closely related breeds （DA = 0.184） while WAD and Balami are the farthest apart breeds （DA-- 0.665）, which is coincident with distance based on morphological analysis and population structure assessed by STRUCTURE. Conclusions： These results suggest that within-breed genetic variation in Nigerian sheep is higher than between-breeds and may be a valuable tool for genetic improvement and conservation. The
