This paper describes severe plastic deformation(SPD)procedures,which are utilized to form an ultrafine-grained structure in metallic *** the SPD process,a solid material sample is subjected to very high loads without a significant change in sample *** the present work,the high-pressure torsion(HPT)process,as one of the SPD techniques,which achieves a high degree of deformation and ensures refinement of the microstructure,will be discussed in more *** that grain size control is accepted as a method to obtain materials with desired characteristics,an overview of the properties of ultrafine-grained titanium-based biomaterials to be used in medicine is ***,particular attention is dedicated to the influences of HPT process parameters,primarily hydrostatic pressure,and number of revolutions during torsion,on the grain size and physical and mechanical characteristics(modulus of elasticity,microhardness,and tensile properties),corrosion resistance,and biocompatibility of the titanium-based biomaterials.A review of the literature indicates that titanium-based materials obtained by the SPD process show improved mechanical and physical properties without losing biocompatibility and corrosion resistance,which suggests that these methods of obtaining implants are something that should be further developed in the future.

The effects of a harmonically exciting monopole source on an infinitely long cylindrical cavity embedded entirely within a fluid-saturated poroelastic formation of infinite extent are examined theoretically. It is assumed that the source is located outside the cavity at a specified distance from the borehole axis. The magnitudes of the hoop and radial stresses beside the pore pressures exerted on the interface and inside the porous medium surrounding the borehole are calculated and discussed. Biot's poroelastic modeling along with three types of boundary conditions for the cylindrical interface including the ideal fluid, empty borehole, and rigid inclusion with a hard boundary is employed for the analysis. Utilizing a proper translational addition theorem for expressing the incident spherical wave in terms of cylindrical wave expansions, the proposed boundary conditions at the interface are satisfied. Stresses are formulated by means of wave potential functions in a three-dimensional(3D) manner. The effects of the frequency and the radial distance between the source and borehole on the induced stresses are examined for the first cylindrical modes over frequency spectra. Two permeability conditions for the interface and three types of soils for the porous formation are considered throughout the analysis. To give an overall outline of the study, a numerical example is presented. The results clearly indicate that the distance is a key parameter and has considerable effects on the induced stress values. In addition, the interface permeability condition and soil characteristics play an important role in determining the dynamic response of the borehole. Finally,the obtained results are compared with the relevant analyses existing in the literature for some limit cases, and good agreement is achieved.

Seismic codes estimate the maximum displacements of building structures under the design-basis earthquakes by amplifying the elastic displacements under the reduced seismic design forces with a deflection amplification factor(DAF). The value of DAF is often estimated as ρ× R, where R is the force reduction factor and ρ is the inelastic displacement ratio that accounts for the inelastic action of the structure according to the definition presented by FEMA P695. The purpose of this study is to estimate the ρ-ratio of moment resisting steel frames(MRSFs) designed according to the Egyptian code. This is achieved by conducting a series of elastic and inelastic time-history analyses by two sets of earthquakes on four MRSFs designed according to the Egyptian code and having 2, 4, 8 and 12 stories. The earthquakes are scaled to produce maximum story drift ratios(MSDRs) of 1.0%, 1.5%, 2.0% and 2.5%. The mean values of the ρ-ratio are calculated based on the displacement responses of the investigated frames. The results obtained in this study indicate that the consideration of ρ for both the roof drift ratios(RDRs) and the MSDRs equal to 1.0 is a reasonable estimation for MRSFs designed according to the Egyptian code.

Herein,we report the victorious synthesis of metal-organic frameworks(MoFs) on Tio_2 nanotubes(NTs)using a layer-by-layer(LbL) *** crystalline and homogenous thin films of MoFs were grown and characterized using XRD,SEM,FT-IR and UV/Vis ***,the utilization of the MoF films as sensitizers was probed in bespoke Graetzel type liquid junction solar *** constructed cell performance revealed an I_(sc) of 1.16 mA cm^(–2),Vocof 0.63 V,FF of 0.33,and E_(ff) of 0.42%.Further,pumpprobe transient laser spectroscopy was performed to investigate the energy and charge transfer dynamics of the MoFs/Tio_2 NTs *** results indicated 86% injection *** ultrafast pump-probe spectroscopy allows the investigation of this process and the differences between *** also showed that the relaxation of the MoF chromophores is in competition with electron injection in the Ti o2 *** this study provides a new insight into electron transfer from photoexcited metal-organic frameworks(MoFs) into titanium dioxide.

Microstructure and mechanical properties of ball-milled Al-8 wt pct Ni ribbon have been investigated by X-ray diffraction （XRD） and continuous Vickers hardness test, respectively. The results indicate that, the main phases of this alloy are α-Al and orthorhombic-Al3Ni. The lattice parameter of α-Al increases with increasing milling time. From the elastic constant of Al, the average contrast factors of the （111）, （200）, （220）, （311） and （222） Bragg＇s reflections for pure edge and pure screw dislocations in fcc crystals with α/2〈110〉{111} slip system were calculated. The average grain size and dislocation parameters as a function of milling time have been investigated using the modified Williamson-Hall plot and the Warren-Averbach equation, *** attempt has been made to correlate the micro-hardness of milled ribbon with their grain size through the Hall-Patch relationship：HV0.01 = 742.45 〈 D 〉^-1/2 ＋401.55 （kg/mm^2）.
