Ho.ever, their ro.e in pro.ta.e ca.cer develo.ment ha. been spa.ingly explo.ed a.d with co.tra.ting findings. No.a.ly their rela.io.ship with pro.ta.e ca.cers ca.es seen in Sub-Sa.a.a. a.rica.is yet to.be explo.ed. Design: a.retro.pective study invo.ving histo.o.ica.ly dia.no.ed ca.es o. a.eno.a.cino.a. o. the pro.ta.e. Ca.es were cla.sed a.co.ding to.the WHo.ISUP Glea.o. Pro.no.tic gro.ps [G1 - G5]. Immuno.isto.hemica. a.a.ysis wa. perfo.med using mo.o.lo.a. a.tibo.ies fo. HER2 a.d EGFR, while in situ hybridiza.io. emplo.ed DNa.pro.es fo. the co.respo.ding genes. Sco.es o. +2 a.d +3 were rega.ded a. po.itive fo. bo.h a.tibo.ies, while a.ta.get gene: centro.ere ra.io.o. >2 wa. set a. the thresho.d fo. a.plifica.io.. Results: a.to.a. o. 44 ca.es were included in the study. The a.ina. type wa. the co.mo.est mo.pho.o.ica.ly, with Glea.o. gro.p 5 [Glea.o. sco.es 8 - 10] a.co.nting fo. clo.e to.ha.f o. the ca.es [47.7%]. The HER2 a.tibo.y sta.ned nega.ively in the ma.o.ity o. ca.es [93.2%], being po.itive in o.ly 3 [6.8%] o. ca.es seen. High level expressio. o. EGFR [+2/+3] wa. o.served in 25% o. ca.es, lo. level expressio. wa. identified in 6 [13.6%] ca.es. a.l HER2 po.itive ma.igna.cies displa.ed o.erexpressio. o. EGFR. In situ-hybridiza.io. revea.ed the a.sence o. high level a.plifica.io. fo. bo.h HER2 a.d EGFR, while po.yso.y wa. no. detected in a.y o. the ca.es. Co.clusio.: The o.erexpressio. o. EGFR in pro.ta.e ca.cers ha. been demo.stra.ed in a.na.ive a.rica. po.ula.io., a.firming its suita.ility fo. ta.geted thera.y. o.erexpressio. o.
