Alignment efficient image-sentence retrieval considering transferable cross-modal representation learning

Traditional image-sentence cross-modal retrieval methods usually aim to learn consistent representations of heterogeneous modalities,thereby to search similar instances in one modality according to the query from another modality in *** basic assumption behind these methods is that parallel multi-modal data(i.e.,different modalities of the same example are aligned)can be obtained in *** other words,the image-sentence cross-modal retrieval task is a supervised task with the alignments as ***,in many real-world applications,it is difficult to realign a large amount of parallel data for new scenarios due to the substantial labor costs,leading the non-parallel multi-modal data and existing methods cannot be used *** the other hand,there actually exists auxiliary parallel multi-modal data with similar semantics,which can assist the non-parallel data to learn the consistent ***,in this paper,we aim at“Alignment Efficient Image-Sentence Retrieval”(AEIR),which recurs to the auxiliary parallel image-sentence data as the source domain data,and takes the non-parallel data as the target domain *** single-modal transfer learning,AEIR learns consistent image-sentence cross-modal representations of target domain by transferring the alignments of existing parallel ***,AEIR learns the image-sentence consistent representations in source domain with parallel data,while transferring the alignment knowledge across domains by jointly optimizing a novel designed cross-domain cross-modal metric learning based constraint with intra-modal domain adversarial ***,we can effectively learn the consistent representations for target domain considering both the structure and semantic ***,extensive experiments on different transfer scenarios validate that AEIR can achieve better retrieval results comparing with the baselines.

Development in oxide metallurgy for improving the weldability of high -strength low-alloy steel-Combined deoxidizers and microalloying elements

Isomeric fluorescence sensors for wide range detection of ionizing radiations

In order to achieve a wider range of ionizing radiations detection,novel fluorescence sensing materials have been developed that utilize the fluorescence enhancement phenomenon caused by the intramolecular photoinduced electron transfer(PET)*** perylene diimide isomers PDI-P and PDI-B were designed and synthesized,and their molecular structures were characterized by high-resolution Fourier transform mass spectrometry(HRMS),nuclear magnetic resonance hydrogen and carbon spectroscopy(~1H and~(13)C NMR).The interaction between ionizing radiation and fluorescent molecules was simulated by HCl *** results show that combining PDIs and HCl can improve fluorescence through the retro-PET *** the similarities in chemical structures,the fluorescent enhancement multiple of PDI-B with aromatic amine as electron donor is much higher than that of PDI-P with alkyl *** the direct irradiation experiments of ionizing radiation,the emission enhancement multiples of PDI-P and PDI-B are 2.01 and 45.4,***,density functional theory(DFT)and time-dependent density functional theory(TDDFT)calculations indicate that the HoMo and HoMo-1 energy ranges of PDI-P and PDI-B are 0.54 e V and 1.13 e V,respectively.A wider energy range has a stronger driving force on electrons,which is conducive to fluorescence *** femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy(fs-TAS)and transient fluorescence spectroscopy(TFS)tests show that PDI-B has shorter charge separation lifetime and higher electron transfer rate *** both isomers can significantly reduce LoD during PET process,PDI-B with aromatic amine has a wider detection range of 0.118—240 Gy due to its larger emission enhancement,which is a leap of three orders of *** breaks through the detection range of gamma radiation reported in existing studies,and provides theoretical support for the further study of sensitive and effective new materials for ionizing radiation dete

Transition metal sulfide(TMS)anodes exhibit the characteristics of phase stability and high capacity for lithium/sodium-ion batteries(liBs/SIBs).However,the TMS anodes often suffer from poor electronic conductivity,low ionic diffusion and large volume expansion during li/Na-ion intercalation significantly impairing the li/Na-storage ***,a long chain heterostructure composed of the Co_(9)S_(8) and SnS are first reported,which can generate rich phase interfaces,and small crystal *** unique structure can facilitate the properties of reactivity,conductivity and ionic *** addition,the heterostructure surface is modified by the N-doped carbon(N-DC@(CoSn)S),successfully improving the structural *** synergistic effects of Co_(9)S_(8)/SnS heterostructure and coated carbon layer effectively increase the capacity and cycling *** N-DC@(CoSn)S anode delivers enhanced high specific capacities of 820.6 mAh·g^(−1) at 1.0 A·g^(–1) after 500 cycles for liBs and 339.2 mAh·g^(–1)at 0.5 A·g^(–1) after 1000 cycles for SIBs,*** work is expected to provide a material design idea for preparing liBs/SIBs with high capacity and long cycling life.

Three-stage niobium mineralization at Bayan obo, China

The Chinese Bayan obo deposit is a world-class rare earth element(REE) deposit with considerable niobium(Nb) and iron(Fe) resources. A complete genetic understanding on all metals is fundamental for establishing genetic models at Bayan obo. With extensive research being focused on REE enrichment, the timing and controls of Nb enrichment remain unresolved at Bayan obo, which is mainly due to the challenges in dating, i.e. multistage thermal events, fine-grained minerals with complex textures and the rare occurrence of uranium-enriched minerals with mature dating methods. Based on robust geological and petrographic frameworks, here we conducted ion probe uranium-lead(U-Pb) dating of ferrocolumbite to unravel the timing, hence the genesis of Nb mineralization. Three types of hydrothermal ferrocolumbites—key Nb-bearing minerals—are identified based on their textures and mineral assemblages. They yield U-Pb ages of 1312 ± 47 Ma(n = 99), 438 ± 7 Ma(n = 93), and 268 ± 5 Ma(n = 19), respectively. In line with deposit geology, we tentatively link the first, second and third stage Nb mineralization to Mesoproterozoic carbonatite magmatism, ubiquitous early Paleozoic hydrothermal activity, and Permian granitic magmatism, respectively. While quantifying the contribution of metal endowment from each stage requires further investigation, our new dates highlight that multi-stage mineralization is critical for Nb enrichment at Bayan obo, which may also have implications for the enrichment mechanism of Nb in REE deposits in general.

Study of 26 Galactic open Clusters with Extended Main-sequence Turnoffs

Recent studies indicate that some Galactic open clusters(oCs)exhibit extended main-sequence turnoff(eMSTo)in their color–magnitude diagrams(CMDs).However,the number of Galactic oCs with eMSTo structures detected so far is limited,and the reasons for their formation are still *** work identifies 26 Galactic oCs with undiscovered eMSTos and investigates the causes of these *** population types and fundamental parameters of cluster samples are acquired using CMD fitting *** them,the results of 11 oCs are reliable as the observed CMDs are *** propose the crucial role of stellar binarity and confirm the importance of stellar rotation in reproducing eMSTo *** results also show that the impact of age spread is important,as it can adequately explain the structure of young oCs and fit the observed CMDs of intermediate-age oCs better.

Effect of Skeleton Grain Size on the Saturation of Gas Hydrate in Natural Sediments

Natural gas hydrate is prospected as a new and promising,highly clean energy resource that mainly occurs in perma-frost or at continental *** formation is subject to many soil conditions,such as grain size,matrix materials,pore morphology,and *** this study,we propose that grain size is the most decisive parameter that affects the saturation of gas hydrate in sediments based on data from ocean Drilling Program Leg 164 and Mallik 5L-38,which represent marine sediments and terrestrial sediments,*** study reveals that high gas hydrate saturation generally occurs in coarse-grained sand,regardless of whether sediment formation is homogeneous or inhomogeneous,and the sorting of sediments may affect the hydrate saturation to a certain *** grain size and sorting of sediments may be the most intuitive proxy method for a rough estimation of hydrate *** study is necessary to fully understand the relationship between hydrate morphology and sediment grain size,even though massive hydrates are typically found in fine clayey-rich sediments.

Transcriptome Analysis of Heterosis in Survival in the Hybrid Progenies of‘Haida No.1’and orange-Shelled lines of the Pacific oyster Crassostrea gigas

Heterosis has been exploited to enhance the yield and adaptability in various shellfish species;however,the molecular basis of it remains *** Pacific oyster Crassostrea gigas is one of the most economically important aquaculture species,and its productive traits can be improved by ***,an intraspecific cross between orange shell(o,10th generation)and‘Haida No.1’(H,13th generation)of *** was performed to assess the heterosis of survival *** rates of hybrid family(oH)and inbred families(HH and oo)were compared at larval stage,and eyed-pediveliger larvae of three families were subjected to transcriptome *** analysis results of best-parent heterosis and mid-parent heterosis showed that the hybrid family exhi-bited a high heterosis in survival relative to the parental *** oH-M(oH ***)and oH-P(oH ***)had 425 and 512 dif-ferentially expressed genes(DEGs),*** enrichment analysis of these DEGs revealed that the significantly enrich-ed genes function in virion binding,C-type lectin receptor signaling pathway,cellular defense response and other immune-related pro-cesses,which involves perlucin-like protein,CD209 antigen-like protein,ZNFX1,caspase-3 and acan *** differentially ex-pressed genes in oH-M and oH-P,together with the immune-related processes mentioned above may play an important role in the larval survival of *** addition,three genes(CYP450,fucolectin and perlucin-like)are associated with the orange shell and low survival of maternal oyster *** findings provide support for the application of hybrid with superior survival and will facilitate the understanding of heterosis formation in the Pacific oyster.
