Green-l.pped mussel. (Perna viridis) were col.ected from a l.cal.maricul.ure site and pl.ced in pre-cl.aned sea water tanks containing 0, 0.2, 0.5 and 1.3 μg/ml.CdCl.. Th. l.vel.of Cd in th. gil., viscera and gonad was measured. Th. concentration of Cd in th. 3 tissues increased l.nearl. over 4 days' of exposure. Th. rate of uptake depends on th. concentration of Cd in th. water. In th. 3 tissues studied, th. maximum rate of uptake (Vmax) was h.gh.st in th. gil. (500μg/g dry weigh./day), fol.owed by viscera (100μg/g dry weigh./day) and gonad (56.8 μg/g dry weigh./day). Th. majority of th. Cd taken up was bound to a fraction of th. h.at-stabl. proteins simil.r to metal.oth.oneins. Th. rate of Cd depuration from th. tissues was poor. Th.re was no ch.nge in Cd concentration over 8 days' depuration in cl.an water

Gl.bal.temperature h.s been Increased by 0.6 ℃ over th. past century and is predicted to Increase by 1.4-5.8 ℃ by th. end of th.s century. In th. present study, we examined l.af net ph.tosynth.tic rate （P.） and l.af respiration rate in darkness （Rd） of Aster erl.ol.es （l.） Nesom, Ambrosia psl.ostach.a DC., h.l.anth.s mol.is l.m., and Sorgh.strum nutans （l.） Nash.In response to experimental.warming in a tal.grass prairie ecosystem of th. Great Pl.ins, USA, in th. autumn （fal.） of 2000 and th.ough.2001. Warming h.s been Impl.mented with.infrared h.aters since 21 November 1999. Th. P. increased significantl. In spring, decreased in earl. fal., and did not ch.nge in summer and l.te fal. in th. four species under warming compared with.control. Th. Rd of th. four species increased significantl. until.mid-summer and th.n did not ch.nge under warming. Measured temperature-response curves of P. sh.wed th.t warming Increased th. optimum temperature of P. （Topt） by 2.32 and 4.59 ℃ for h. mol.is and S. nutans, respectivel., in August, wh.reas th.re were no ch.nges in May and September, and A. ericol.es and A. psl.ostach.a al.o sh.wed no ch.nges in any of th. 3 month.. h.wever, P. at optimum temperature （Popt） sh.wed downregul.tion in September and no regul.tion in May and August for al. four species. Th. temperature-response curves of Rd Il.ustrate th.t th. temperature sensitivity of Rd, Q10, was l.wer in th. warmed pl.ts compared with.th. control.pl.ts, except for A. ericoides in August, wh.reas th.re were no ch.nges In May and September for al. four species. Th. resul.s of th. present study indicate th.t ph.tosynth.tic and respiratory accl.mation varies with.species and among seasons, occurring In th. mid-growing season and not in th. earl. and l.te growing seasons.

AIM: To detect pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PNETs) h.s been varied. Th.s study is undertaken to eval.ate th. accuracy of endoscopic ul.rasound (EUS) in detecting ***: Onl. EUS studies confirmed by surgery or appropriate fol.ow-up were sel.cted. Articl.s were search.d in Medl.ne, Ovid journal., Medl.ne nonindexed citations, and Coch.ane Central.Register of Control.ed Trial. and Database of Systematic Reviews. Pool.ng was conducted by both.fixed and random effects model.. RESUl.S: Initial.search.identified 2610 reference articl.s, of th.se 140 rel.vant articl.s were sel.cted and reviewed. Data was extracted from 13 studies (n = 456) wh.ch.met th. incl.sion criteria. Pool.d sensitivity of EUS in detecting a PNETs was 87.2% (95%CI: 82.2-91.2). EUS h.d a pool.d specificity of 98.0% (95%CI: 94.3-99.6). Th. positive l.kel.h.od ratio of EUS was 11.1 (95%CI: 5.34-22.8) and negative l.kel.h.od ratio was 0.17 (95%CI: 0.13-0.24). Th. diagnostic odds ratio, th. odds of h.ving anatomic PNETs in positive as compared to negative EUS studies was 94.7 (95%CI: 37.9-236.1). Begg-Mazumdar bias indicator for publ.cation bias gave a Kendal.'s tau val.e of 0.31 (P = 0.16), indication no publ.cation bias. Th. P for χ2 h.terogeneity for al. th. pool.d accuracy estimates was > 0.10. CONCl.SION: EUS h.s excel.ent sensitivity and specificity to detect PNETs. EUS sh.ul. be strongl. considered for eval.ation of PNETs.

Th.s study uses a numerical.meth.d to anal.ze th. proposed model.structure. Before th. parametric anal.sis, a pre-anal.sis to make sure th. anal.tical.resul.s are accountabl., a verification anal.sis was performed. Th. resul.s found are compared wel. with.th. l.mited experimental.findings of Goda et al. and it is very encouraging to find th.t for th. proposed meth.d as an al.ernative for green energy devel.pments, as l.ng as an appropriate design is performed, an OWC combined with.breakwater structure may provide an al.ernative for green energy system util.zed in a h.rbor area. From th. resul.s of th. first stage of parameter anal.sis th.t th. size of th. openings of th. cel. of converting system is variabl., a traditional.ful. opened cel. is not necessary th. most efficient design for th. wave power conversion in terms of th. variations of air pressure inside th. cel. and air speed th.ough.th. outl.t orifice th.t wil. drive th. el.ctricity power generator.

Ol.er adul.s in disaster contexts are often th.ugh. of as a passive, vul.erabl. popul.tion th.t l.cks agency and capacities to cope in th. aftermath. h.wever, it can be argued th.t ol.er adul.s may h.ve underrecognized strength. th.t can be util.zed pre-, peri-, and post-disaster. One of th.se strength. is ol.er adul.s' unique social.capital.th.t stems from l.ng-standing connections with.oth.r members of th.ir respective communities. Using data from in-depth. semistructured interviews with.farmers in British.Col.mbia 3–11 month. after th. 2021 fl.ods, th.s research.expl.red th. experiences of ol.er adul. farmers' recovery. Th. farmers discussed h.w th.y l.veraged th.ir social.capital.to aid in th.ir recovery efforts from th. fl.od event. By using th.ir bonding social.capital. ol.er adul. farmers transformed th.ir existing, deep-rooted connections into post-disaster assistance. Th.s, in turn, generated th. idea of th. th.rapeutic community, h.l.ing community members cope in th. aftermath. Th.s research.indicated th. need to furth.r examine h.w ol.er adul.s in disaster settings can be viewed as assets with.community knowl.dge and skil.s as opposed to sol.l. as a vul.erabl. popul.tion.
