Possibility of the measurement of radiated waves derived from the thermally emitted electron Bernstein wave （EBW） is numerically investigated based on the assumption of the super dense core （SDC） plasma generated in LHD. EBW that is thermally emitted in the electron cyclotron resonance （ECR） layer may couple with the electromagnetic wave and be emitted to the vacuum via the EBW-extraordinary-ordinary （B-X-O） mode conversion process. We consider the use of one of the transmission lines for electron cyclotron heating （ECH） in LHD as a receiving system of the emission. It is derived that the waves in the fundamental cyclotron frequency range are emitted as the EBW near their upper hybrid resonance （UHR） layer outside the last close flux surface （LCFS）. On the other hand, waves in the second harmonics cyclotron frequency range are emitted in the core region. It means that successful measurement of waves of the second harmonic frequency range emitted from extremely high dense core plasma with setting an aim angle for receiving indicates a possibility of the second harmonic ECH by EBW in the core region with setting the same aim angle and the same polarization for launching.

Non-Fourier heat conduction study for steady states in metallic nanofilms

As a fundamental theory of heat transfer, Fourier's law is valid for most traditional conditions. Research interest in non-Fourier heat conditions is mainly focused on heat wave phenomena in non-steady states. Recently, the thermomass theory posited that, for steady states, non-Fourier heat conduction behavior could also be observed under ultra-high heat flux conditions at low ambient temperatures. Significantly, this is due to thermomass inertia. We report on heat conduction in metallic nanofilms from large currents at low temperatures; heat fluxes of more than 1×1010 W m 2 were used. The measured average temperature of the nanofilm is larger than that based on Fourier's law, with temperature differences increasing as heat flux increased and ambient temperature decreased. Experimental results for different film samples at different ambient temperatures reveal that non-Fourier behavior exists in metallic nanofilms in agreement with predictions from thermomass theory.

A method for reducing the damage to a structure caused by an earthquake namely,using laminated rubber for seismic isolation is proposed,and the vibration characteristics of the rubber(which minimizes the seismic response of the structure during an earthquake)is optimized.A method called“Equivalent Linear System using Restoring Force Model of Power Function Type”(PFT-ELS)is applied to nonlinear vibration analysis of the *** that analysis,a building with 15 layers of the laminated rubber is *** seismic response of the building is analyzed,and the usefulness of the laminated rubber is demonstrated by comparing the seismic responses in the cases with and without the laminated *** addition,the hysteresis restoring-force characteristic of the laminated rubber,which minimizes the seismic response of the building,was optimized by using a genetic algorithm(GA).Based on these results,the optimum restoring-force characteristic for different earthquakes was *** a result,it was clarified that the developed optimization method can determine the vibration characteristics of the laminated rubber for minimizing the damage to the structure in the design phase.

Ovarian cancer has the highest mortality rate among gynecologic *** combination of cytoreductive surgery and chemotherapy is the standard regimen for the treatment of ovarian *** initial treatment is usually effective,but many patients with ovarian cancer experience recurrence,and treatment options for recurrent disease remain *** stem cells(CSCs)are suggested to play an essential role in cancer recurrence after initial ***,they are of great interest as CSCs may also be involved in chemotherapy ***,understanding the characteristics and mechanisms by which CSCs display resistance to therapeutic agents is important to design effective cancer *** this review,we describe and discuss current therapeutic regimens for ovarian cancer,as well as the various CSC markers,association between CSCs and disease progression,correlation of CSCs with poor prognosis,enrichment of CSCs in tumor tissues following repeated chemotherapy cycles,activation of major signaling pathways following chemotherapy,and potential inhibitors that suppress these signaling *** addition,clinical trials evaluating novel targeted therapies to overcome chemotherapy resistance will be *** combination of traditional chemotherapy and CSC-targeted therapy could be an effective and promising anticancer treatment for ovarian *** the biological properties of CSCs and the mechanism of chemotherapy resistance are critical to design and develop new therapeutic strategies to overcome CSC-associated chemotherapy resistance.
