Numerical Modeling of Mass Transfer in the Interaction between River Biofilm and a Turbulent Boundary Layer

In this article dedicated to the modeling of vertical mass transfers between the biofilm and the bulk flow, we have, in the first instance, presented the methodology used, followed by the presentation of various results obtained through analyses conducted on velocity fields, different fluxes, and overall transfer coefficients. Due to numerical constraints (resolution of relevant spatial scales), we have restricted the analysis to low Schmidt numbers (Sc=0.1, Sc=1, and Sc=10) and a single roughness Reynolds number (Re*=150). The analysis of instantaneous concentration fields from various simulations revealed logarithmic concentration profiles above the canopy. In this zone, the concentration is relatively homogeneous for longer times. The analysis of results also showed that the contribution of molecular diffusion to the total flux depends on the Schmidt number. This contribution is negligible for Schmidt numbers Sc≥0.1, but nearly balances the turbulent flux for Sc=0.1. In the canopy, the local Sherwood number, given by the ratio of the total flux (within or above the canopy) to the molecular diffusion flux at the wall, also depends on the Schmidt number and varies significantly between the canopy and the region above. The exchange velocity, a purely hydrodynamic parameter, is independent of the Schmidt number and is on the order of 10% of in the present case. This study also reveals that nutrient absorption by organisms near the wall depends on the Schmidt number. Such absorption is facilitated by lower Schmidt numbers.

Primary and Secondary Microplastic and Nanoplastic Regulations: Perspectives on Water Industry Impacts

Plastic pollution, both primary and secondary, is an environmental challenge, prompting regulatory actions at global and regional levels. With increasing research about the impacts of micro- and nanoplastics on ecosystems and human health, governments worldwide have undertaken efforts to address this issue. The global community has advanced regulatory efforts that have led to the implementation of national laws or regulations in numerous countries. These measures ban or restrict the use of primary and secondary microplastics and nanoplastics. An overview of global and European regulatory frameworks is presented to provide context for the United States (US). In the endeavor to document plastics regulation development in the US, a description of regulatory agencies and their roles in advancing policy and rules as well as future direction and areas for improvement in regulating plastics are introduced. A discussion of what emerging regulations mean to utilities and industries is also provided along with a comparison of regulatory frameworks.

Constructing an AI Compiler for ARM Cortex-M Devices

The diversity of software and hardware forces programmers to spend a great deal of time optimizing their source code,which often requires specific treatment for each *** problem becomes critical on embedded devices,where computational and memory resources are strictly *** play an essential role in deploying source code on a target device through the *** this work,a novel backend for the Open Neural Network Compiler(ONNC)is proposed,which exploits machine learning to optimize code for the ARM Cortex-M *** backend requires minimal changes to Open Neural Network Exchange(ONNX)*** novel optimization techniques are also incorporated in the backend,such as quantizing the ONNX model’s weight and automatically tuning the dimensions of operators in *** performance of the proposed framework is evaluated for two applications:handwritten digit recognition on the Modified National Institute of Standards and Technology(MNIST)dataset and model,and image classification on the Canadian Institute For Advanced Research and 10(CIFAR-10)dataset with the AlexNet-Light *** system achieves 98.90%and 90.55%accuracy for handwritten digit recognition and image classification,***,the proposed architecture is significantly more lightweight than other state-of-theart models in terms of both computation time and generated source code *** the system perspective,this work provides a novel approach to deploying direct computations from the available ONNX models to target devices by optimizing compilers while maintaining high efficiency in accuracy performance.

1案例1.1简要案情因诉讼需要,某法院委托本鉴定所对吴某(男,33岁)和双胞胎男孩(吴某郎与吴某易,均为3岁)进行有无亲生血缘关系的鉴定。据法院提供的两子户籍证明及出生证明信息,可明确两者为同母双胞胎。按《亲权鉴定技术规范》(GB/T37223—2018)要求对吴某、吴某郎与吴某易分别采集血样。1.2检验方法1.2.1 DNA提取使用Chelex法提取检材DNA。1.2.2检测过程常染色体STR基因座检测:分别应用Microreader^(TM) 21 ID System和Microreader^(TM) 23sp ID System(北京阅微基因技术股份有限公司)对检材DNA的39个STR基因座和性别基因座复合扩增。

Moringa oleifera is well known as a highly nutritious plant and a water purifier in fish *** fish has many impressive qualities making them very suitable for ***,this study aimed to evaluate the effect of supplementation of Moringa oleifera aqueous extract(MOAE)at varying concentrations(0,100,200,and 400 mg/kg diet for 90 days)on growth performance,hematological,and some biochemical parameters of Nile ***,histological changes and immunohistochemical expression of caspase 3 in gills and livers were *** enhancements(Py function tests and non-significant changes in lipid profile were *** the other hand,fish fed 400 mg MOAE/kg diet revealed disturbance in the corresponding *** histological degenerative changes were detected in the gills and liver of fish fed 400 mg MOAE/kg *** comparison,fish fed 200 mg MOAE/kg diet showed the best histo-architectures of these organs compared with other *** immune expressions of caspase 3 were determined where gills and liver of fish fed 400 mg MOAE/kg diet revealed extensive number of positive caspase 3 cells indicating severe apoptotic ***,a dietary MOAE at 200 mg/kg diet is recommended to improve the growth performance,hematological parameters,liver and kidney functions in Nile ***,caution must be considered when using MOAE at a concentration over 200 mg/kg diet.
