AIM： To analyze.the.e.ide.iological, clinical and laboratory findings of infe.tious ***： A re.rospe.tive.study on case. of infe.tive.ke.atitis, atte.de. our institution from Mar. 2013 to Fe.. 2015, was done.at Mansoura Ophthalmic Ce.te., e.ypt. Corne.l scrapings we.e.pe.forme. and proce.se. for dire.t microscopy and culture.in appropriate.me.ia using standard laboratory ***： Out of 245 patie.ts e.rolle. for study, 247 corne.l scrapings we.e.obtaine.. Ocular trauma was the.most common pre.isposing factor （51.4%）, followe. by diabe.e. me.litus （15.1%）. Culture. we.e.positive.in 110 scraping sample. （44.5%）： 45.5% sample. had pure.fungal infe.tion, 40% had pure.bacte.ial infe.tions and 10% had mixe. fungal and bacte.ial growths. Acanthamoe.a was de.e.te. in 5 （4.5%） sample.. The.most common fungal pathoge. was Aspe.gillus spp. （41%）. The.most common bacte.ial isolate. we.e.Staphylococcus aure.s （38.2%） and Pse.domonas ae.uginosa （21.8%）.CONCLUSION： Incide.ce.of fungal ke.atitis is high in our re.ion. The.ape.tic approach can initially be.base. on clinical fe.ture. and se.sitivity/re.istance.patte.ns. Microbiological re.e.rch should dire.t the.antimicrobial tre.tme.t. Antibiotic re.istance.to fluoroquinolone. and aminoglycoside. is an important conside.ation.

Our study inve.tigate. the.die. of the.southe.nmost ge.ko in the.world, Homonota darwini. Fifty-thre. spe.ime.swe.e.capture. during spring and summe. in four locations in Patagonia, Arge.tina. The.stomach conte.ts of the.spe.ime.s we.e.de.tifie., and we.found that pre. consiste. of six main groups: Cole.pte.a, Hyme.opte.a, Homopte.a and Arane.e. and the.dults and larvae.of moth Le.idopte.a. Le.idopte.a was the.major die.ary compone.t. The.pre.e.ce.of ants and moths as commonpre. sugge.ts an ambush fe.ding strate.y. In spring, fe.ale. consume. more.ants than male. although no othe. die.ary diffe.e.ce.be.we.n male. and fe.ale. we.e.e.ide.t. We.found nine.ge.kos with e.pty stomachs and six parasitize. by *** of e.pty stomachs corroborate. pre.ious obse.vations of othe. nocturnal ge.kos and non-ge.ko lizards. Re.uce. foragingsucce.s of nocturnal lizards could be.due.to difficulty in pre. de.e.tion due.to dim light, re.uce. or e.ratic activity of inse.tpre. at night, or shorte. activity time. of ge.kos re.ative.to diurnal succe.s. Se. and se.son we.e.not associate. with the.incide.ce.f e.pty stomachs. Principal compone.t analysis showe. that four food alte.native. corre.ate. with se.son. The.constraint ofnocturnality, couple. with low night-time.te.pe.ature. re.tricting fe.ding to only a fe. hours afte. sunse., appe.r to have.cause.a ge.e.ality of die. which may limit e.e.gy acquisition.
