Roots a.d Nutrient Distribution under Drip Irriga.ion a.d Yield of Fa.a.Bea. a.d Onion

Drip irriga.ion proved to efficiently provide irriga.ion wa.er a.d nutrients to the roots of pla.ts, while ma.nta.ning high yield production. This resea.ch wa. esta.lished to study the root a.d nutrient distribution under drip irriga.ion. Fa.a.bea. a.d onion pla.ts were cultiva.ed in the experimenta. fa.m of the Fa.ulty of a.riculture of Suez Ca.a. University in Isma.lia.city with the a.plica.ion of norma. fertilizers to soil. The da.a.showed tha. soil moisture content in the soil pla.ted with fa.a.bea. increa.ed with the horizonta. dista.ce between drippers, contra.iwise moisture content decrea.ed with horizonta. dista.ce with the soil pla.ted with onion. The da.a.showed the vertica. distribution of root length, root length density a.d specific root length of fa.a.bea. a.d onion decrea.ed with increa.ing soil depth. The da.a.showed tha. a.monium a.d nitra.e pa.tern a. the soil pla.ted with the both pla.ts increa.ed between drippers a.d la.era.s. The pea. concentra.ion wa. recorded 35 mg/kg a. 60 - 80 cm soil depth for fa.a.bea. a.d onion, indica.ing tha. the NO3-N lea.hing wa. low by drip irriga.ion. a.a.la.le phosphorus wa. higher a. the surfa.e la.er tha. the subsurfa.e la.er a. the soil pla.ted with fa.a.bea. a.d onion. a.a.la.le pota.sium tended to move both horizonta.ly a.d downwa.d under drip irriga.ion.
