We prese nt a morphological and molecular assessment of the Microhyla fauna of Myanmar based on new collections from central (Magway Division) and northem (Kachin State) parts of the country. In total, six species of Microhyla are documented, including M. berdmorei, M. heymonsi, M. butleri, M. mukhlesuri and two new species described from the semi-arid savarma-like plains of the middle part of the Irrawaddy (Ayeyarwady) River Valley. We used a 2 481 bp long 12S rRnA- 16S rRnA fragment of mtDnA to hypothesize gen ealogical relati on ships within Microhyla. We applied an in teg rati ve taxonomic approach combining molecular, morphological, and acoustic lines of evidenee to evaluate the taxonomic status of Mya nmar Microhyla. We dem on strated that the newly discovered populations of Microhyla sp. from the Magway Division represent two yet undescribed species. These two new sympatric species are assigned to the M. achatina species group, with both adapted to the seas on ally dry environments of the Irrawaddy Valley. Microhyla fodiens sp. nov. is a stout-bodied species with a remarkably enlarged shovel-like outer metatarsal tubercle used for burrowing and is highly diverge nt from other know n congeners (P-distancea8.8%). Microhyla irrawaddy sp. nov. is a small-bodied slender frog reconstructed as a sister species to M. kodial from southern India (P-distance=5.3%);however, it clearly differs from the latter both in external morphology and advertisement call parameters. Microhyla mukhlesuri is reported from Myanmar for the first time. We further discuss the morphological diag no sties and biogeography of Microhyla species recorded in Myanmar.

One important way to control the technical condition of the high-voltage power equipment element is the monitoring and interpretation of electromagnetic radiation. Analysis of the spectra of emitted high-voltage equipment EMR provides information on which determines the intensity discharge processes occurring in insulation and other structural elements of high voltage equipment under the operating voltage without interfering with the process.

Stimulation of decidua development by transplantation of endometrial stem cells

On all terms of pregnancy, insolvency of decidual reaction of endometrial cells is one of the reasons of miscarriages and fetal growth delay. The insufficient decidualization of endometrum leads to infertility in such pathologies, as Asherman’s syndrome and an endometrium atrophy. However, there are data on successful application of autologous bone marrow MSCs for Asherman’s syndrome treatment. The aim of this work was to assay the effect of endometrial mesenchymal stem cell (eMSC) transplantation for decidualization process in pseudopregnant rat. Our study showed that injection of human eMSC suspension into the uterine lumen of pseudopregnant rats facilitated more intensive development of decidua in comparison with phosphate buffed saline (PBS) injection in the control uterine horn. Histological analysis of decidua sections did not reveal any alterations in cell differentiation or tissue structure. In conclusion, we demonstrated for the first time that eMSC transplantation assists the development of all decidual tissue elements. It opens the possibility that eMSCs may be applied for cell therapy of infertility associated with decidualzation insufficiency.

Generalization of Abelian Gauge Symmetry, Dark Matter and Cosmological Expansion

A commutative generalization of the U(1) gauge symmetry group is proposed. The two-parametric family of two-connected abelian Lie groups is obtained. The necessity of existence of so-called imaginary charges and electromagnetic fields with negative energy density (dark photons) is derived. The possibilities when the overall Lagrangian represents a sum or difference of two identical Lagrangians for the visible and hidden sectors (i.e. copies of unbroken U(1)) are ruled out by the extended symmetry. The distinction between the two types of fields resides in the fact that for one of them current and electromagnetic kinetic terms in Lagrangians are identical in sign, whereas for another type these terms are opposite in sign. As a consequence, and in contrast to the common case, like imaginary charges attract and unlike charges repel. Some cosmological issues of the proposed hypothesis are discussed. Particles carrying imaginary charges are proposed as one of the components of dark matter. Such a matter would be imaginarily charged on a large scale for the reason that dark atoms carry non-compensated charges. It leads to important predictions for matter distribution, interaction and other physical properties being different from what is observed in dominant dark matter component in the standard model. These effects of imaginary charges depend on their density and could be distinguished in future observations. Dark electromagnetic fields can play crucial dynamical role in the very early universe as they may dominate in the past and violate weak energy condition which provides physical grounds for bouncing cosmological scenarios pouring a light on the problem of origin of the expanding matter flow.

Effect of electron injection in copper-contacted graphene nanoribbons

For practical electronic device applications of graphene nanoribbons (GnRs), it is essential to have abrupt and well-defined contacts between the ribbon and the adjacent metal lead. By analogy with graphene, these contacts can induce electron or hole doping, which may significantly affect the I/V characteristics of the device. Cu is among the most popular metals of choice for contact materials. In this study, we investigate the effect of in situ intercalation of Cu on the electronic structure of atomically precise, spatially aligned armchair GnRs of width n = 7 (7-AGnRs) fabricated via a bottom-up method on the Au(788) surface. Scanning tunneling microscopy data reveal that the complete intercalation of about one monolayer of Cu under 7-AGnRs can be facilitated by gentle annealing of the sample at 80 °C. Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) data clearly reflect the one-dimensional character of the 7-AGnR band dispersion before and after intercalation. Moreover, ARPES and core-level photoemission results show that intercalation of Cu leads to significant electron injection into the nanoribbons, which causes a pronounced downshift of the valence and conduction bands of the GnR with respect to the Fermi energy (ΔE ~ 0.5 eV). As demonstrated by ARPES and X-ray absorption spectroscopy measurements, the effect of Cu intercalation is restricted to n-doping only, without considerable modification of the band structure of the GnRs. Post-annealing of the 7-AGnRs/Cu/Au(788) system at 200 °C activates the diffusion of Cu into Au and the formation of a Cu-rich surface Au layer. Alloying of intercalated Cu leads to the recovery of the initial position of GnR-related bands with respect to the Fermi energy (E F), thus, proving the tunability of the induced n-doping.

Traditionally,urbanization has been seen as a negative phenomenon for ***,changes in the environmental parameters induced by urbanization might be favorable for some *** the past half-century,the common hamster has actively populated cities,establishing populations in some European,Russian and Kazakhstan *** on integrative methods,we investigated free-range common hamsters inhabiting Simferopol from 2015 to 2018 to reveal possible adaptations to the urbanized environment across several parameters,including lifespan,hibernation period,reproductive activity and body *** show that in urban areas,the common hamster demonstrates an extremely short hibernation period compared to other localities,possibly due to enhanced food resources from urban forestry(walnuts,locus and hazelnut),allowing the species to start breeding very early(February)and finish as late as *** present the first evidence of polyandry for this species:mating of receptive females with several males and subsequent confirmation of multiple *** high reproductive potential,the lifespan of the common hamster in urban conditions is generally very short(less than 1 year).We speculate that in the process of synurbization,the common hamster’s innate plasticity across many life history traits permits it to successfully colonize throughout a wide range of habitats,with the ability to form novel adaptations to urban environments.

Third-order non-linearities are important because they allow control over light pulses in ubiquitous high-quality centro-symmetric materials like silicon and *** four-wave mixing provides a direct measure of the third-order non-linear sheet susceptibility x^(3)(where L represents the material thickness)as well as technological possibilities such as optically gated detection and emission of *** picosecond pulses from a free electron laser,we show that silicon doped with P or Bi has a value of x^(3)Lin the THz domain that is higher than that reported for any other material in any wavelength *** immediate implication of our results is the efficient generation of intense coherent THz light via upconversion(also a x^(3)process),and they open the door to exploitation of nondegenerate mixing and optical nonlinearities beyond the perturbative regime.
