Results of experimental research of the mixing process of coaxial flows in a pipe with swirled peripheral jet are presented in this paper. Distribution of temperature and concentration of gases on the axis and wall of the channel under the influence of such factors as the regime flow, ratio of density of flows and swirl degree of the peripheral jet are studied. Research of temperature, swirl angle, circulation in cross sections along with the channel have shown that their distributions have the jet-like character and are described by known dependences for the layer of mixture.

The methods and criteria of the physical theory of strength are used. The initial physical and mechanical parameters of the strength of steel 45 were determined analytically. Strength, fatigue and damage to steel were calculated for non-stationary mechanical and various thermal loads. The ratio between the physical and generally accepted mechanical parameters of the material strength is determined analytically. The result of the calculation of the new characteristics of the strength of the damaged material is given. The method takes into account plastic deformation, an arbitrary form of stress cycle, temperature mode. Additional physical criteria for evaluating the strength properties are proposed. We use our own calculation programs, which allow us to take into account the changed characteristics of the damaged material for various stress functions. The physical method allows you to analyze and quickly process the rheological data of sensors that control the parameters of the material under load. A method for rapid analysis and comparison of the results of indentation into the material in accordance with ISO 14577 using various indenters is proposed. Physical parameters of the material and new theoretical methods of calculation can be used to assess the properties of materials, monitor the condition and predict the strength and durability of the material of machines during operation.

In this review,we tried to systematize all the evidence(from PubMed[MEDLINE],Scopus,Cochrane Library,EBSCO,Embase,and Google Scholar)from 1993 to 2021 on the predictors of microsurgical varicocelectomy efficacy in male infertility *** the outcomes of varicocele repair,we considered semen improvement and pregnancy and analyzed them *** on the 2011 Oxford CEBM Levels of Evidence,we assigned a score to each trial that studied the role of the *** systematized the studied predictors based on the total points,which were,in turn,calculated based on the number and quality of studies that confirmed or rejected the studied predictor as significant,into three levels of significance:predictors of high,moderate,and low clinical *** total motile sperm count(TMSC)coupled with sperm concentration can be a significant predictor of semen improvement and pregnancy after *** addition,for semen improvement alone,scrotal Doppler ultrasound(DUS)parameters,sperm DNA fragmentation index(DFI),and bilateral varicocelectomy are reliable predictors of microsurgical varicocelectomy efficacy.

We provide an integrative taxonomic analysis of the Lipinia vittigera species complex from mainland Southeast Asia. Based on examination of external morphology, color pattern, and 681 base pairs of the cytochrome oxidase subunit I (COI) mitochondrial gene, we demonstrate the presence of four morphologically distinct lineages of Lipinia in Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and Malaysia, showing a sequence divergence ranging 15.5%–20.4%. All discovered lineages are discretely diagnosable from one another by a combination of scalation traits and color patterns. A review of the published distribution data and a re-examination of available type material revealed the following results:(1) distribution of L. vittigera (Boulenger, 1894) sensu stricto is restricted to Sundaland and the Thai-Malay Peninsula south of the Isthmus of Kra;(2) L. microcercus (Boettger, 1901) stat. nov. is elevated to full species rank;the species has a wide distribution from central and southern Vietnam across Cambodia to eastern Thailand;we regard Lygosoma vittigerum kronfanum Smith, 1922 and Leiolopisma pranensis Cochran, 1930 as its junior synonyms;(3) Lipinia trivittata sp. nov. occurs in hilly areas of southern Vietnam, Cambodia, and eastern Thailand;and (4) Lipinia vassilievi sp. nov. is currently known only from a narrow area along the Vietnamese-Cambodian border in the foothills of the central Annamite Mountain Range. We further provide an identification key for Lipinia occurring in mainland Southeast Asia.

Scanning Mode Application of Neutron-Gamma Analysis for Soil Carbon Mapping

Soil carbon mapping is extremely useful in assessing the effect of land management practices on soil carbon storage. Applications of neutron-gamma analysis in scanning mode for mapping of soil carbon are discussed. A Global Positioning System(GPS) device and softwares required to simultaneously acquire gamma signals and geographical positions during scanning operations were added to an existing measurement system. The reliability of soil carbon measurements in scanning mode was demonstrated to be in agreement with results acquired from static mode. The error analysis indicated that scanning measurements can be conducted with the same accuracy as static measurements in approximately one fourth the time. To obtain results suitable for mapping analogous to traditional chemical analyses(i.e.,± 0.5 in weight percent or ± 0.5 w%), scanning time over a given site should be ca. 15 min using the current measurement system configuration. Based on this measurement time, a reasonable towing speed of 3–5 km h^-1, the necessity for complete site coverage during scanning, the number of sites(within the surveyed field), and the required total measurement time can be estimated. Soil carbon measurements for 28 field sites(total area ca. 2.5 ha) were conducted in ca. 8 h. Based on acquired data,a soil carbon distribution map was constructed utilizing various softwares. The surveyed field area included an asphalt road that had carbon readings higher than the surrounding land. The clarity with which these carbon-rich zones were delineated on the constructed map represents evidence supporting the veracity of this method. Neutron-gamma analysis technology can greatly facilitate timely construction of soil carbon maps.

Super-oscillation is a counterintuitive phenomenon describing localized fast variations of functions and fields that happen at frequencies higher than the highest Fourier component of their *** physical implications of this effect have been studied in information theory and optics of classical fields,and have been used in super-resolution *** a general phenomenon of wave dynamics,super-oscillations have also been predicted to exist in quantum *** we report the experimental demonstration of super-oscillatory behavior of a single-quantum object,a *** super-oscillatory behavior is demonstrated by tight localization of the photon wavefunction after focusing with an appropriately designed slit mask to create an interference pattern with a sub-diffraction hotspot(~0.45λ).Such quantum super-oscillation can be used for low-intensity far-field super-resolution imaging techniques even down to single-photon counting regime,which would be of interest to quantum physics and non-invasive and label-free biological studies.

Arguments that global warming in the Earth’s atmosphere of the last 70 years is partially or entirely caused by changes in the solar magnetic field are presented in the work. Global warming is probably a consequence of ionizing radiation emitted from the Sun mainly in the “rise” phase of solar activity. The ionizing radiation is positively charged particles with high energy. They penetrate deep into the Earth’s atmosphere, creating increased content of ions serving as condensation nuclei. The condensation nuclei increase cloudiness in the lower atmosphere and lower the surface air temperature. When solar activity decreases as observed in the last 70 years, the reverse process occurs— cloud cover decreases, more solar electromagnetic radiation reaches the earth’s surface and increases the temperature. An additional argument for the presence of high-energy radiation that penetrates deeply into the Earth’s atmosphere and even reaches the Earth’s surface is the high statistically significant correlation between the fluxes of such radiation recorded by GOES series satellites in a geostationary orbit (36,000 km above the Earth’s surface) and the human mortality from deadliest diseases.
