Geochemical and Pb-Sr-Nd isotopic compositions of granitoids from western Qinling belt: Constraints on basement nature and tectonic affinity

Geochemical and Pb-Sr-Nd isotopic compositions of five Indosinian granitoid intrusions from the western Qinling belt provide insights into basement nature and tectonic affinity. the results show that the western Qinling granitoids incline towards basic in their bulk chemical composition. the granitoids belong to high-K to shoshonitic series with K2O/Na2O=1.04-1.86 and are dominantly metaluminous with A/CNK=0.90-1.05 (most samples have A/CNK of they have similar trace elemental compo- sitional patterns. In Sr-Nd isotopic compositions, they display some extent heterogeneity with Isr=0.70682-0.70845, εNd(t)=?4.85 to ?9.17 and tDM=1.26-1.66 Ga. they are characterized by high ra- diogenic Pb isotopic compositions. their initial Pb isotopic ratios are 206Pb/204Pb=17.996-18.468, 207Pb/204Pb=15.565-15.677 and 208Pb/204Pb=38.082-38.587. Geochemical and Sr-Nd isotopic composi- tions reveal that magma for the granitoids was derived from partial melting of high-K (Rb) basaltic rocks, which might be formed in 900-1400 Ma. It is suggested that a large amount of the Proterozoic high-K (Rb) basaltic rocks, which underlie the Phanerozoic sedimentary cover, constitute the crustal basement of the western Qinling belt. Pb-Sr-Nd isotopic compositional comparison between the east- ern Qinling and the western Qinling Indosinian granitoids indicates that the crustal basement of the western Qinling is distinct from that of the eastern Qinling. the Baoji-Chengdu railway close to south-north orientation can be taken as an approximate boundary between both basements. the Pb-Nd isotopic compositional characteristics of the western Qinling granitoids suggest that the basement of the western Qinling belt has an affinity with the Yangtze block.

A cluster line approach to finding new Fe-B-Y-Nb-Zr bulk metallic glasses

the glass forming ability of the [(Fe12/13Y1/13)100?xBx]96Nb2Zr2 (x=9–26) system was investigated using a series of cluster lines. three types of clusters, an icosahedron (Fe12Y), a capped Archimedes anti-prism (Fe8B3) and a capped trigonal prism (Fe9B), as well as a binary eutectic (Fe83B17) were considered. Bulk glassy alloy rods of 3 mm in diameter were synthesized using a copper mold suction-casting method. the glass transition temperature was observed for all samples in the boron range of 15.9at%-25.7at%, with the alloy at 15.9at% of boron having the best thermal properties. the ferrous-based bulk metallic glasses (BMG) obtained have high reduced glass transition temperatures with the maximum reaching 0.63 and large supercooled liquid regions with the maximum reaching 111 K. Magnetic testing revealed a large value of coercive force and remanent magnetization, being 11 kA/m and 0.1 t, re- spectively.

Given the popularity of smart environment in a hospital involving the participation of a large group of patients,scheduling of patients towards their desired destination is still being a challenging *** the development of Internet of things(Io t),smart environments are increasingly being deployed in various public scenarios and in particular,hospitals are an important target environment for smart *** paper models a dynamic scheduling policy based on a patient flow scenario in order to solve the queuing issue and facilitate people’s *** dynamic scheduling policy aims to forward incoming patients to dissolve jams especially at the peaks by giving accurate predication of appointment *** main modelling technique is a formal method—Performance evaluation process algebra(PEPA).the findings show that the dynamic scheduling policy is able to efficiently improve the patient flow.

Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Cold Metal transfer Welding Similar and Dissimilar Aluminum Alloys

Integrating structures made from aluminum alloys in automotive industry requires a large amount of joining. As a consequence, the properties of the joints have a significant influence on the overall performance of the whole structure. Robot cold metal transfer welding is a relatively new joining technique and has been used in this work to join 6082-t4 and 5182-O aluminum alloy sheets by using ER5356 and ER4043 filler metals. Microstructure characterization was performed by optical microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and the mechanical properties were measured by tensile and hardness tests. A correlation is made between welding variables, mechanical properties and the microstructure of welded joints. Results indicate that robot cold metal transfer welding provides good joint efficiency with high welding speed, good tensile strength, and ductility. Owing to the low heat input of robot cold metal transfer welding process, the heat affected zone microstructure was quite similar to base metals, and weld metal microstructure was the controlling factor of joint efficiency. the best performing were the 5182/5182 joints welded with ER5356 and these had mechanical property coefficients of 100%, 98%, and 85% for yield strength, ultimate tensile strength, and elongation, respectively.

Experimental Study on the Mobility of Channelized Granular Mass Flow

Granular mass flows （e.g., debris flows/avalanches） in landslide-prone areas are of great concern because they often cause catastrophic disasters as a result of their long run-out distances and large impact forces. to investigate the factors influencing granular mass flow mobility, experimental tests were conducted in a flume model. Granular materials consisting of homogeneous sand and non- homogeneous sandy soil were used for studying particle size effects. Run-out tests with variable flow masses, water contents, and sloping channel confinement parameters were conducted as well. the results indicated that granular mass flow mobility was significantly influenced by the initial water content; a critical water content corresponding to the smallest flow mobility exists for different granular materials. An increase in the total flow mass generally induced a reduction in the travel angle （an increase in flow mobility）. Consistent with field observations, the travel angles for different granular materials decreased roughly in proportion to the logarithm of mass. the flume model tests illustrate that the measured travel angles increase as the proportion of fine particles increases. Interestingly, natural terrain possesses critical confinement characteristics for different granular mass flows.

Phytochemical Content, Radical Scavenging Ability &Enzyme Inhibiting Activities of Selected Spices (Cinnamon, Cardamom and Cloves)

Cinnamon, cardamom and cloves have been widely used for medicinal purposes as well as essential cooking ingredients for flavor. the objective of the research was to investigate the antioxidant content, antioxidant capacity, and inhibition of lipid and carbohydrate metabolizing enzyme activities of selected spices (cinnamon, cardamom & cloves) methanol (ME) and water extracts (WE). the phytochemical content was determined by total phenolic and total flavanoid content. the antioxidant potential was determined by measuring 2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging activity and Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power (FRAP) in spice’s (ME) and (WE) extracts. total phenolic (GAE mg/100g dry weight) and flavonoid (mg CE/100g dry weight) content were the highest in Cloves (ME) 174.4 and 101.06. the lowest values for phenolic content were seen in ME and WE of Cardamom at 31.24 and 7.55. the DPPH IC50 values ranged from 0.22mg/mL (Cloves ME) to 0.60mg/mL (Cardamom ME). FRAP (μmol Fe2+/100g dry weight) for Cinnamon, Cardamom (ME) was 2438.5 and 325. Clove (ME) had a significantly higher reducing potential of 6888.5 which might have been attributed by the high amounts of phenolics and flavonoids in the spice. FRAP in spice extracts (WE) was lower with values of 2296.5 and 218.5 and 2310.5, respectively. the highest inhibition of the α-glucosidase was observed by Clove (ME) 86.5%, which also had the highest amylase enzyme inhibition at 71%. However, inhibition of the lipase enzyme was highest by the Cinnamon (WE) extracts 44.3%. the potential of phytochemicals in spices was studied and if consumed in high amounts could offer antioxidative properties and regulate key digestive enzymes which may lead to prevention or decreased progression of diseases such as Cancer, Diabetes and Cardiovascular diseases.

Record-breaking organic solar cells(OSCs)based on blends of polymer donors and small molecule acceptors often show undesirable degradati on,which severely precludes their practical *** n,we demonstrate a facile and cost-effective approach to con struct thermally stable OSCs at 150℃ by incorporating a small amount of a polymer insulator polyacenaphthylene(PAC)with high glass-transition temperature over 230℃ into polymer:acceptor *** model PtB7-th:EH-IDtBR blend with 10 wt%PAC maintained above 85%of its initial efficiency upon continuous heating at 150℃ for over 800 h,while the efficiency of the blend without PAC sharply dropped by 70%after-300 *** to high miscibility with acceptors,PAC confines the motion of the acceptor molecules and suppresses the acceptor crystallization at elevated temperatures,leading to significantly improved ***,the effectiveness of this blending approach was also validated in many other OSC systems,showing great potential for achieving high-performance thermally stable electronics.
