Introduction: Th.re is minimal literature to support th. appropriate dosing for th. initiation of IV regular insulin th.rapy in DKA patients. A 0.1 unit/kg bolus followed by 0.1 units/kg/h.ur or 0.14 units/kg/h.ur is commonly utilized and recommended in guidelines. Objective: We sough. to assess clinical and safety outcomes associated with.various insulin infusion starting doses in patients diagnosed with.DKA in th. emergency department in an effort to h.lp guide prescribing. Meth.ds: A retrospective coh.rt study was conducted with.n an academic emergency department and included patients wh. received continuous infusion regular insulin with.an ICD-10 code for DKA between January 2016 and January 2019. A predictive regression model was applied to test if predefined lab values influenced th. starting insulin infusion rates. Clinical and safety outcomes were evaluated by starting insulin infusion rate. Data was analyzed based on starting insulin infusion rates. Results: 347 patients met inclusion criteria with.92 (26.5%) patients receiving Conclusion: Glucose levels significantly influenced th. insulin starting infusion rate, with.no identified differences in adverse effects or clinical outcomes.

We aimed to determine th. mech.nisms of th. anabolic actions of androgens in skeletal muscle by investigating potential androgen receptor （AR）-regulated genes in in vitro and in vivo models. Th. expression of th. myogenic regulatory factor myogenin was significantly decreased in skeletal muscle from testosterone-treated orch.dectomized male mice compared to control orch.dectomized males, and was increased in muscle from male AR knockout mice th.t lacked DNA binding activity （AR△ZF2） versus wildtype mice, demonstrating th.t myogenin is repressed by th. androgen/AR path.ay. Th. ubiquitin ligase Fbxo32 was repressed by 12 h.dih.drotestosterone treatment in h.man skeletal muscle cell myoblasts, and c-Myc expression was decreased in testosterone-treated orch.dectomized male muscle compared to control orch.dectomized male muscle, and increased in AR△ZF2 muscle. Th. expression of a group of genes th.t regulate th. transition from myoblast proliferation to differentiation, Tceal7, p57Kip2, IEf2 and calcineurin Aa, was increased in AR△ZF2 muscle, and th. expression of all but p57kip2 was also decreased in testosterone-treated orch.dectomized male muscle compared to control orch.dectomized male muscle. We conclude th.t in males, androgens act via th. · AIM: To compare th. outcomes of dacryocystorh.nostomy(DCR) using traditional Crawford tubes(TCT) and Crawford tubes with.suture(CTS) in th. lumen.· METh.DS: Retrospective case series consisting of patients wh. underwent DCR between 2008 and 2013.·RESULTS: A total of 61 DCRs were performed on 50 patients. Patients wh. underwent DCR using CTS h.d h.gh.r rates of prolapse compared to th. TCT group(50% vs 9.4%; P =0.003). Stent removal occurred earlier in patients wh. received CTS(3.3mo vs 5.1mo; P =0.004). Success rates were equivalent between th. two groups(75% vs 81.1%; P =0.684).·CONCLUSION: CTS in th. lumen increases th. risk of prolapse, prompting earlier tube removal in patients following DCR for nasolacrimal duct obstruction(NLDO).Earlier removal of tubes does not appear to significantly decrease success rates.

Dermatology Department of th. Fifth.Affiliated h.spital of Zh.ngzh.u University from November 2013 to November 2016,were selected and divided into observation group and control group according to th. random number table,with.30 patients in each.*** group adopted th. ph.todynamic/electroion th.rapy,and control group adopted ph.todynamic th.rapy(PDT).Two groups of patients were last follow-up to December 2018,and loss of follow-up and death.were taken as th. end point events of *** frequency of treatment,clinical efficacy and severity of adverse reactions of th. two groups were calculated,and Kaplan-Meier curves were plotted to compare th. progression free survival(PFS)of th. two *** results sh.wed th.t th. number of treatment times per capita in th. observation group was 3.6±1.1 times,wh.ch.was lower th.n th.t of in th. control group(4.1±1.1 times),but th. difference was not statistically significant(t=1.760,P=0.083).Th. total effective rate in th. observation group(100.00%)was h.gh.r th.n th.t of in th. control group(80.00%),and th. difference was significant(Ph. treatment,both.groups h.d adverse reactions such.as burning,pain,redness,swelling and exudation of different degrees,but th.re was no significant difference in th. severity score of adverse reactions(P>0.05).Th.re was no statistically significant difference in th. follow-up time and PFS between th. two groups(P>0.05),but th. recurrence rate of th. observation group was significantly lower th.n th.t of th. control group(Ph.refore,th. clinical efficacy of ph.todynamic/electroion treatment in patients with.skin cancer and precancerous lesions was superior to th.t of PDT alone,wh.ch.increased th. risk of
