Knowledge regarding the influence of individual traits on interaction patterns in nature can help understand the topological role of individuals within a network of intrapopulation *** tested hypotheses on the relationships between individuals'positions within networks(specialization and centrality)of 4 populations of the mouse opossum Gracilinanus agilis and their traits(i.e.,body length,body condition,tail length relative to body length,sex,reproductive condition,and botfly parasitism)and also seasonal effects in the Brazilian *** with lower body length,better body condition,and relatively shorter tail were more specialized(i.e.,less connected within the network).Individuals were also more specialized and less connected during the warm-wet *** relationship between individuals'position in the network and body traits,however,was independent of *** propose that specialization may arise not only as a result of preferred feed-ing strategies by more capable individuals(i.e.,those with better body condition and potentially prone to defend and access high-quality food resources)but alsobecause of morphological ***/younger individuals(consequently with less experience in foraging)and short-tailed individuals(less skilled to explore the vertical strata of the vegetation)would feed only on a subset of the available food resources and consequently become more ***,individuals are more specialized during the warm-wet season because of high competition(population-dense period)and higher ecological opportunities(resource-rich period).Therefore,our study reveals the relevance of individual traits inshaping interactionpatternsandspecialization inpopulations.

Geothermal is a clean energy source that is freely available in the subsurface. The exploitation of this vital resource needs intensive exploration in order to identify and quantify its occurrence. The three parameters considered when assessing the viability of a geothermal system include;heat source, fractures and fluids. Geological structures are important in transportation of fluids to and from the heat source aiding in recharge of the geothermal system and enhancing productivity. Remote sensing method was applied in mapping the structures at Barrier Volcanic complex (BVc) by using hill shading technique which utilized four illumination angles of the sun (azimuth) i.e. 45°, 90°, 150°, and 315°, constant elevation of 45° and exaggeration of 10. The data used was Shuttle Radar Topographic Mission (SRTM) Satellite Imagery. ArcGIS Software was used for lineaments delineation and density mapping, PcI Geomatica was used to generate major faults, while Georose and Rockworks 17 were used to generate the rose diagrams. Geological structural analysis was done by delineating lineaments, determining the density distribution of lineaments and finally determining the structural trends of lineaments. The generated major faults in the area and the location of the occurrence of surface manifestations were compared with the generated lineaments. A total of 260 lineaments were generated whereby at 45° there was a total of 60 lineaments, at 90° 95 lineaments, at 150° 61 lineaments, and at 315° 44 lineaments. The results of structural analysis in the area as shown by the rose diagrams indicate an NNE-SSW and N-S trending of structures. In conclusion, the study area is highly fractured as indicated by the presence of numerous lineaments. These lineaments provide good recharge to the geothermal system and enhance the geothermal reservoir in the area.

马来半岛位于低纬热带地区，厄尔尼诺-南方涛动（El Nino-Southern Oscillation，简称ENSO）如何影响该区域的气候，尤其是降水仍然存在争议。本文以马来半岛东北部登嘉楼州Setiu潟湖钻孔NTT-3为研究对象，通过粒度、总有机碳及总氮含量、c/N比值和XRF岩心扫描等分析，探讨该钻孔的沉积环境变化及其对ENSO的响应。研究结果显示，钻孔记录中自1970年前后（84 cm处）出现两种不同的变化趋势。1970年之前钻孔下部沉积物粒度、有机和无机地球化学特征趋势波动明显，沉积速率较低。而1970年以来，潟湖沉积环境总体稳定，沉积物中的有机组分主要来自红树林，同时伴有河流输入的淡水浮游植物的贡献。频谱分析结果显示1970年以来钻孔上部存在明显的ENSO周期变化。强El Nino现象基本对应低Zr/Rb比值和低Zr/Ti比值，而强La Nina现象基本对应高Zr/Rb比值和Zr/Ti比值。该结论不仅支持了现代观测对马来半岛东部沿海地区气候变化的认识，同时也在地质记录中发现了ENSO变化的直接证据，对全面认识和理解ENSO对亚洲气候变化的影响、区域陆海相互作用过程和环境响应等方面具有重要现实意义。

During metal machining, the satisfactoriness of cost-quality-time matrix convergence effectively depends on the supreme selection of cutting parameters. This study investigated the energy use minimisation and quality surface generation through optimised cutting parameters application, as sustainability enhancement during dry turning of EN19 material. cutting parameter optimisation is a serious challenge confronting the machining industry as they strive to achieve low energy use and better component quality generation from their operations. The utility material, EN19, is a medium-carbon low alloy steel which typically gets applied in the manufacturing of multiple profiled cylindrical machine tool, rail locomotives and motor vehicle component parts, inter alia. Taguchi Full Factorial experimental plan was used to organise the empirical experiments. ANOVA and the main effects plot signal-to-noise ratio optimisation analysis were utilised in the study to establish the influence of process parameters on the response parameters—surface roughness and energy use. The aim was to investigate and determine the correlation of the machining strategy parameters with the outcome of low energy use and quality surface texture of the components as the cutting parameters were varied, and optimised for minimum surface roughness and energy use. Results of the extensive experimental study, produced optimum cutting speed, rake angle variation and feed rate which respectively influence the response parameters positively for energy use minimisation and improved surface quality. Validation experiments confirmed model findings.

Long-term impact of artificial intelligence on colorectal adenoma detection in high-risk colonoscopy

BAcKGROUND Improved adenoma detection rate(ADR)has been demonstrated with artificial intelligence(AI)-assisted ***,data on the real-world appli-cation of AI and its effect on colorectal cancer(cRc)screening outcomes is *** To analyze the long-term impact of AI on a diverse at-risk patient population undergoing diagnostic colonoscopy for positive cRc screening tests or *** AI software(GI Genius,Medtronic)was implemented into the standard proced-ure protocol in November *** was collected on patient demographics,procedure indication,polyp size,location,and *** screening outcomes were evaluated before and at different intervals after AI introduction with one year of *** We evaluated 1008 colonoscopies(278 pre-AI,255 early post-AI,285 established post-AI,and 190 late post-AI).The ADR was 38.1%pre-AI,42.0%early post-AI(P=0.77),40.0%established post-AI(P=0.44),and 39.5%late post-AI(P=0.77).There were no significant differences in polyp detection rate(PDR,baseline 59.7%),advanced ADR(baseline 16.2%),and non-neoplastic PDR(baseline 30.0%)before and after AI *** In patients with an increased pre-test probability of having an abnormal colonoscopy,the current generation of AI did not yield enhanced cRc screening metrics over high-quality *** the potential of AI in colonoscopy is undisputed,current AI technology may not universally elevate screening metrics across all situations and patient *** studies that analyze different AI systems across various patient populations are needed to determine the most effective role of AI in optimizing cRc screening in clinical practice.
