Transfer Learning for Disease Diagnosis from Myocardial Perfusion SPECT Imaging

Coronary artery disease(CAD)is one of the most common pathological conditions and the major global cause of *** perfusion imaging(MPI)using single-photon emission computed tomography(SPECT)is a non-invasive method and plays an essential role in diagnosing ***,there is currently a shortage of doctors who can diagnose using SPECT-MPI in developing countries,especially *** on deploying machine learning and deep learning in supporting CAD diagnosis has been noticed for a long ***,these methods require a large dataset and are therefore time-consuming and *** study aims to develop a cost-effective and high-performance CAD classification model to support doctors in these *** this paper,we propose a transfer learning framework for a multi-stage training process with different learning *** process consists of two training stages:a warming up stage in which all layers of a pre-trained model(on ImageNet dataset)are frozen;and a finetuning stage in which a small amount of the top layers are unfrozen and then retrained with a lower learning *** dataset for this study consists of the polar maps from 218 *** popular CNN-based pre-trained models have been investigated,and ResNet152V2-based model has obtained the highest performances with an accuracy of 95.5%,area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC)score 0.932,sensitivity 94.4%,precision 96.4%,and F1-score 95.2%.These performances are competitive or even better than all state-of-the-art approaches in terms of classification accuracy and *** also apply the class activation mapping technique to help explain the model’s predictions and increase the model’s reliability,proving capable of assisting the SPECT image readers in the CAD diagnosis.

Privacy-preserving explainable AI: a survey

As the adoption of explainable AI(XAI) continues to expand, the urgency to address its privacy implications intensifies. Despite a growing corpus of research in AI privacy and explainability, there is little attention on privacy-preserving model explanations. This article presents the first thorough survey about privacy attacks on model explanations and their countermeasures. Our contribution to this field comprises a thorough analysis of research papers with a connected taxonomy that facilitates the categorization of privacy attacks and countermeasures based on the targeted explanations. This work also includes an initial investigation into the causes of privacy leaks. Finally, we discuss unresolved issues and prospective research directions uncovered in our analysis. This survey aims to be a valuable resource for the research community and offers clear insights for those new to this domain. To support ongoing research, we have established an online resource repository, which will be continuously updated with new and relevant findings.

Modeling Election Problem by a Stochastic Differential Equation

The proportion of the favorable among voters to a nominee might change over times and depend on different factors for example: talent, reputation, party and even name order on election. The unobservable factors which might have minor impacts on the approval rate are modelized by random elements. The approval rate is initially described by the differential equation and then by the random differential equation including the above unobservable factors. We figure out the formula of the solution for the stochastic differential equation and simulate these solutions to identify the changes of the approval rate over time.

Cost-effective CO_(2) adsorbents are gaining increasing attention as viable solutions for mitigating climate *** this study,composites were synthesized by electrochemically combining the post-gasification residue of Macadamia nut shell with copper benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylate(CuBTC).Among the different composites synthesized,the ratio of 1:1 between biochar and CuBTC(B 1:1)demonstrated the highest CO_(2) adsorption *** controlled laboratory conditions(0°C,1 bar,without the influence of ambient moisture or CO_(2) diffusion limitations),B 1:1 achieved a CO_(2) adsorption capacity of 9.8 mmol/g,while under industrial-like conditions(25℃,1 bar,taking into account the impact of ambient moisture and CO_(2) diffusion limitations within a bed of adsorbent),it reached 6.2 mmol/*** values surpassed those reported for various advanced CO_(2) adsorbents investigated in previous *** superior performance of the B 1:1 composite can be attributed to the optimization of the number of active sites,porosity,and the preservation of the full physical and chemical surface properties of both ***,the composite exhibited a notable CO_(2)/N_(2) selectivity and improved stability under moisture *** favorable characteristics make B 1:1 a promising candidate for industrial applications.

The Optimal Stopping Time for Selling an Asset When It Is Uncertain Whether the Price Process Is Increasing or Decreasing When the Horizon Is Infinite

Assume that we want to shell an asset with unknown drift but known that the drift is a two value random variable, and the initial distribution can be estimated. As time goes by, this distribution is updated and base on the probability of the drift takes the small one gives us the stopping rule. Research results show that the optimal strategy to sell the asset is if the initial probability that the drift receives a small value greater than a certain threshold then liquidates the asset immediately, otherwise the asset holder will wait until the probability of the drift receives a small value passing a certain threshold, it is the optimal time to liquidate the asset.

本论文报道了不同养殖模式下三角帆蚌的生长发育及几个环境因子的研究结果。研究内容分为4部分:(1)池塘养殖条件下三角帆蚌生长情况和(2)河道养殖条件下三角帆蚌的生长情况;(3)三角帆蚌的性腺发育评价;(4)养殖水体浮游植物及水质因子分析。研究结果如下:三角帆蚌的整个生长周期,60至180日龄(秋季后期和冬季前期)壳长、壳宽、壳高是快速增长的阶段,180到270日龄出现增长延缓,180至270日龄(冬季后期和春季前期)是缓慢增长的阶段,尤其是210-240日龄(水温最低)是生长最慢的时间,270至330日龄(春季后期和夏季前期)由于水温逐渐增高所以生长逐渐增快。300至360日龄是增长最快的阶段。360至420日龄增长变慢。实验I(池塘)贝壳性状及体重高于实验II(河道)。池塘内(I)三角帆蚌90日龄三角帆蚌日增长率(ADG)达到最高为壳长0.548mm/日、壳高0.127mm/日、壳宽0.111mm/日,120日龄养殖时ADG为壳长0.388mm/日、壳高0.116mm/日、壳宽0.110mm/日,150日龄时壳长达到0.416mm/日、壳高0.103mm/日、壳宽0.218mm/日。河道内(II)三角帆蚌90日龄壳长、壳高、壳宽增长率分别为0.479mm/日,0.134mm/日,0.147mm/日。ADG结果表明了一个增长的趋势是壳长、壳高、壳宽增长速度最快在90至150日龄,然后ADG在180日龄至240日龄缓慢。池塘内(I)三角帆蚌60-90日龄壳长比生长率(SGR)达到最高(1.389±0.06%/日)和其它阶段差异有统计学意义(P0.05)。ADG最快点在150日龄时(池塘内的三角帆蚌达0.473±0,011(g/日),河道内的三角帆蚌达0.381±0.065(g/日))。150-180日龄日间体重增长速度减慢,池塘为0.059±0.022(g/日),河道为0.085±0.031(g/日)。210-240日龄增长速度更慢,池塘内的三角帆蚌为0.028±0.022(g/日),河道内的三角帆蚌为0.077±0.032(g/日)。240-270 I和II分别为0.412±0.024(g/日)和0.388±0.023(g/日)。三角帆蚌体重比增长速率(SGRw)在60-90日龄阶段达到最高,I和II分别为3.882%/日和4,668%/日。180-210日龄增长最慢,I和II分别为0,079%/日和0.998%/日。在全周期内平均SGRw I和II分别为1.410%/日和1.574%/日,差异没有统计学意义(P>0.05)。120-270日龄SGRw差异不明显(P>0.05)。池塘和河道水体的浮游植物组成十分丰富,包括大约8门,71种类。池塘内绿藻占优势;河道内硅藻占优势。池塘内特征的种类是Pediastrum sp。河道内叶绿素含量高于河道内,池塘内绿藻占78.3%,蓝藻占69.2%;河道内绿藻门占52.2%,蓝藻门占61.5%,河道内藻类主要是硅藻。池塘内的浮游植物量高于河道内,但多样性指数低于河道内。研究的水环境指标包括水温、p H值、透明度(SD)、溶解氧(DO)、盐度(S)、硬度(H)。水温研究时间池塘和河道平均范围分别在25.5 C-36.5 C和24 C-32.5 C。池塘水体的水温最高为36.5C(夏季后期和秋季前期),最低为25.5C(冬季后期和春季前期);河道内最高为32.5C,最低为24 C,二者均在三角帆蚌的适温范围内。平均透明度池塘高于河道(36.79厘米和33.42厘米)。池塘和河道的透明度都在理想范围(30-40厘米)。溶解氧(DO)在高范围内(池塘水体为4.5-6.5mg/l、河道水体为5.5-7mg/l),DO在11月份最低池塘水体为4.5mg/l,河道水体为5.5m

Recent advancements in additive manufacturing(AM)have revolutionized the design and production of complex engineering *** these advancements,their mathematical modeling and computational analysis remain significant *** research aims to develop an effective computational method for analyzing the free vibration of functionally graded(FG)microplates under high temperatures while resting on a Pasternak foundation(PF).This formulation leverages a new thirdorder shear deformation theory(new TSDT)for improved accuracy without requiring shear correction ***,the modified couple stress theory(MCST)is incorporated to account for sizedependent effects in *** PF is characterized by two parameters including spring stiffness(k_(w))and shear layer stiffness(k_(s)).To validate the proposed method,the results obtained are compared with those of the existing ***,numerical examples explore the influence of various factors on the high-temperature free vibration of FG *** factors include the length scale parameter(l),geometric dimensions,material properties,and the presence of the elastic *** findings significantly enhance our comprehension of the free vibration of FG microplates in high thermal *** addition,the findings significantly enhance our comprehension of the free vibration of FG microplates in high thermal *** addition,the results of this research will have great potential in military and defense applications such as components of submarines,fighter aircraft,and missiles.

Effect of Combinations of Sucrose and Cryoprotectants on the Survival of Catfish Embryos （Pangasidae hypophthamus）

Although cryopreservation of embryos has been used in most terrestrial animals, the application of this technique has not been succeeded for aquatic animals. In this study, the authors investigate the effect of different combinations of sucrose （SUC, C12H22OH） and cryoprotectants （CPAs） on the survival of the catfish embryos （Pangasidae hypophthalmus） at low temperatures （4, 0 and -20 ℃） for short-term storage. For this aim, embryos with somites and optic cups were exposed to different combinations of sucrose with methanol （SUC ＋ MeOH）, 1.2-propylene glycol （SUC ＋ PROH） and ethylene glycol （SUC ＋ EG） at four concentrations ratios：（1） 0.5 M SUC ＋ 0.5 M CPA; （2） 1 M SUC ＋ 0.5 M CPA; （3） 0.5 M SUC ＋ 1 M CPA; （4） 1 M SUC ＋ 1 M CPA for 40 min at 4, 0 and -20 ℃. Embryos kept in water at room temperature （RT）, 4, 0 and -20℃ were used as controls. The survival rate was expressed as a percentage of hatched embryos per total embryos treated. The results showed that the hatching rate declined significantly when embryos were stored in water at 0 ℃ and -20℃. For embryos at 0 ℃ storage, the highest survival rate （87.78%） was obtained with 1 M SUC ＋ 1 M MeOH combination while at -20 ℃, only embryos in the combined treatments of 0.5 M SUC ＋ 1 MEG and 0.5 M SUC ＋ 1 M PROH reached the hatching stage （40% and 83.33%, respectively）. In conclusion, the results showed that the catfish embryos are sensitive to sub-zero temperatures and the combined treatment of 0.5 M sucrose and 1 M propylene glycol can be used to protect catfish embryos from damages caused by low temperature （0 ℃ and -20 ℃）.

Schistosomal appendicitis:A serious and often misdiagnosed condition

Schistosomal appendicitis(SA)is a rare but serious complication of schistosomiasis,a parasitic disease affecting over 250 million people worldwide.A recent retrospective study by Wang et al provides important insights into the clinicopathological characteristics of *** study compared 136 cases of SA to 5418 cases of non-SA over a ten-year *** findings include a higher average age of SA patients(61.73 years vs 35.8 years for non-SA),a higher proportion of acute on chronic appendicitis(33.1%vs 16%),and a significantly higher incidence of colorectal cancer(11.7%vs 2.2%).Despite these differences,SA remains a diagnostic challenge due to its nonspecific clinical presentation and lack of specific laboratory *** study also highlights the persistent prevalence of SA,accounting for 1.6%-3.4%of all appendicitis cases each year from 2013 to *** findings underscore the need for enhanced awareness,early detection,and prompt treatment of SA in endemic *** the association with colorectal cancer,patients with SA require thorough screening and *** research into the pathogenesis and diagnostic markers of SA is *** the global battle against schistosomiasis continues,targeted efforts to diagnose and manage SA can significantly improve patient outcomes.
