Monitoring of benzene, toluene and xylenes （BTEX） was conducted along with traffic counts at 17 roadside sites in urban areas of HoChiMinh. Toluene was the most abundant substance, followed by p,m-xylenes, benzene, o-xylene and ethylbenzene. The maximum observed hour-average benzene concentration was 254 μg/m3 . Motorcycles contributed to 91% of the traffic fleet. High correlations among BTEX species, between BTEX concentrations and the volume of on-road motorcycles, and between inter-species ratios in air and in gasoline indicate the motorcycle-exhaust origin of BTEX species. Daily concentrations of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, p,m-xylenes and o-xylene were 56, 121, 21, 64 and 23 μg/m 3 , respectively. p,m-xylenes possess the highest ozone formation potential among the BTEX family.

In the current work, to predict and improve the formability of deep drawing process for steel plate cold rolled commercial grade （SPCC） sheets, three parameters including the blanking force, the die and punch comer radius were considered. The experimental plan according to Taguchi＇s orthogonal array was coupled with the finite element method （FEM） simulations. Firstly, the data from the test of stress-strain and forming limit curves were used as input into ABAQUS/Explicit finite element code to predict the failure occurrence of deep drawing process. The three parameters were then validated to establish their effects on the press formability. The optimum case found via simulation was finally confirmed through an experiment. In order to obtain the complex curve profile of cup shape after deep drawing, the anisotropic behavior of earring phenomenon was modeled and implemented into FEM. After such phenomenon was correctly predicted, an error metric compared with design curve was then measured.

Srepok watershed plays an important role in Central Highland in Viet *** impacts to developing social-economic ***,it is necessary to research elements which impact to natural resources in this *** Soil and Water Assessment Tool(SWAT)model and Geography Information System(GIS)were used to simulate water discharge in the Srepok *** objectives of the research were to apply GIS and SWAT model for simulation water discharge and then,we assessed land use change which impacted on water discharge in the *** observed stream flow data from Ban Don Stream gauge station was used to calibrate for the period from 1981 to 2000 and then validate for the period from 2001 to *** using SWAT-CUP software to calibration,NSI reached 0.63 and R square value achieved 0.64 from 2004 to 2008 in calibration and NSI gained good level at 0.74 and R square got 0.75 from 2009 to 2012 in validation step at Ban Don *** that,land cover in 2010 was processed like land cover in 2000 and set up SWAT model *** simulated water discharge in scenario 1(land use 2000)was compared with scenario 2(land use 2010),the simulation result was not significant difference between two scenarios because the change of area of land use was not much enough to affect the fluctuation of water ***,the effect of land cover on water resource could be seen clearly via total water *** percentage of surface flow in 2000 was twice times more than in 2010;retard and base flow in 2000 was slightly more than in ***,decreased surface flow,increased infiltration capacity of water and enriched base flow resulted in the growth of land cover.

Objective: To examine the in vitro and in vivo anti-inflammatory effects of the alkaloid enriched extract(ELA) from the roots of Eurycoma longifolia. Methods: The in vitro antiinflammatory effects of ELA were evaluated by examining its inhibitory activities against nitric oxide(NO) production and inducible nitric oxide synthase(iN OS) and cyclooxygenase2(COX-2) expressions in lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. The level of NO produced in the culture media was determined by Griess method. The i NOS and COX-2 protein expressions were analyzed by Western blot. The in vivo effect of ELA was evaluated on LPS-induced septic shock in mice model. Mice mortality was monitored for5 days after injection of LPS. The chemical contents of the ELA were determined by using various chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques. Results: The ELA was found to exhibit a significant anti-inflammatory effect in both in vitro and in vivo models. The results demonstrated that ELA dose-dependently inhibited LPS-induced NO production as well as the protein iN OS and COX-2 expressions. In the septic shock model, ELA dose-dependently protected mice from LPS-induced mortality. Further study on the isolated components of ELA indicated that 9,10-dimethoxycanthin-6-one may contribute significantly to the antiinflammatory effects of the extract. Conclusions: These results suggest that ELA exhibits the anti-inflammatory activity via suppression of pro-inflammatory mediators such as NO, iN OS,and COX-2 and protects mice from LPS-induced mortality in septic shock model.

Coastal erosion has become a worldwide concern, typically in the densely populated Asian mega-river deltas. Severe coastal erosion in the southern Red River Delta(RRD) has been intensively studied. Coastal morphological change in the northern RRD was examined in detail through DEM(Digital Elevation Model) analysis based on time series of bathymetrical maps(1965–2004) and landsat images(1975–2015) in this study. The results show that the northern RRD is featured by rapid coastal accretion in the past few decades, although suspended sediment flux has dropped by roughly 60% after the completeness of Hoa Binh Dam(HBD) in 1988 and relative sea level rose at 1.9 mm yr^(-1). However, accretion at the outer part of subtidal shoals and platforms was observed to slow down quickly or even turned into erosion in the last two decades. The resuspended sediments from the erosion zone can be transported landward to replenish the inner coastal zone, keeping the latter accretion in the near future to compensate for the sediment discharge decrease from the river. However, this lag effect should be terminated soon if other adverse effects go worse, e.g., damming rivers, sea-level rising, strengthening storms, land reclamation and other poor-designed coastal engineering. Coastal planners and managers should pay full attention to these changes.

Vestibulo-ocular reflex(VOR) is an important biological reflex that controls eye movement to ensure clear vision while the head is in ***,VOR measurement is commonly done with a video head impulse test based on a velocity gain algorithm or a position gain algorithm,in which velocity gain is a VOR calculation on head and eye velocity,whereas position gain is calculated from head and eye *** aim of this work is first to compare the two algorithms' performance and to detect covert catch-up saccade,then to propose a stand-alone recommendation application for the patient's *** the first experiment,for ipsilesional and contralesional sides,the calculated position gain(0.94±0.17) is higher than velocity gain(0.84±0.19).Moreover,gain asymmetry of both lesion and intact sides using velocity gain is mostly higher than that from using position gain(four out of five subjects).Consequently,for subjects who have unilateral vestibular neuritis diagnosed from clinical symptoms and a vestibular function test,vestibular weakness is depicted by velocity gain much better than by position *** catch-up saccade and position gain then are used as inputs for recommendation applications.

Bile acids(BAs)are cholesterol derivatives synthesized in the liver and then secreted into the intestine for lipid *** are numerous scientific reports describing BAs,especially secondary BAs,as strong carcinogens or promoters of colon ***,BAs act as strong stimulators of colorectal cancer(CRC)initiation by damaging colonic epithelial cells,and inducing reactive oxygen species production,genomic destabilization,apoptosis resistance,and cancer stem cells-like ***,BAs promote CRC progression via multiple mechanisms,including inhibiting apoptosis,enhancing cancer cell proliferation,invasion,and *** are diverse signals involved in the carcinogenesis mechanism of BAs,with a major role of epidermal growth factor receptor,and its down-stream signaling,involving mitogen-activated protein kinase,phosphoinositide 3-kinase/Akt,and nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B *** regulate numerous genes including the human leukocyte antigen class I gene,p53,matrix metalloprotease,urokinase plasminogen activator receptor,Cyclin D1,cyclooxygenase-2,interleukin-8,and miRNAs of CRC cells,leading to CRC *** evidence suggests that targeting BAs is an efficacious strategies for CRC prevention and treatment.

Objective:To evaluate hepatitis B virus(HBV)vaccine coverage and its associated factors among health science students in ***:this cross-sectional study involving 459 health science students at Tra Vinh University was conducted between April and June *** were collected using a structured questionnaire with items on sociodemographic characteristics,knowledge and attitude about HBV,and vaccination status.A multivariable logistic regression model was used to explore the factors associated with vaccination ***:The majority of participants were female(65.8%)and enrolled at the medical school(56.2%).A total of 30.3%participants received the full dose of the HBV *** percentages of participants with sufficient knowledge and positive attitudes toward HBV infection were 75.2%and 43.4%,*** was 11.8 times higher in sixth-year medical students than any healthcare student in their first-year[adjusted odds ratio(aOR)11.8,95%CI 3.1-45.1,P<0.001],and the coverage was also significant higher in those who had sufficient knowledge(aOR 2.0,95%CI 1.1-3.9,P<0.05)and positive attitudes(aOR 3.0,95%CI 1.9-4.8,P<0.05)than in their ***:The majority of students were not fully vaccinated against HBV,indicating they were vulnerable to the *** and authorities should reinforce health education messages aimed at encouraging all students to get vaccinated with the HBV vaccine,enhance their awareness and knowledge of HBV,and improve attitudes toward HBV infection prevention.

Insufficient therapeutic strategies for acute kidney injury(AKI)necessitate precision therapy targeting its *** study reveals the new mechanism of the marine-derived anti-AKI agent,piericidin glycoside S14,targeting peroxiredoxin 1(PRDX1).By binding to Cys83 of PRDX1 and augmenting its peroxidase activity,S14 alleviates kidney injury efficiently in Prdx1-overexpression(Prdx1-OE)***,S14 also increases PRDX1 nuclear translocation and directly activates the Nrf2/HO-1/NQO1 pathway to inhibit ROS *** to the limited druggability of S14 with low bioavailability(2.6%)and poor renal distribution,a pH-sensitive kidney-targeting dodecanaminechitosan nanoparticle system is constructed to load S14 for precise treatment of AKI.L-Serine conjugation to chitosan imparts specificity to kidney injury molecule-1(kim-1)-overexpressed *** developed S14-nanodrug exhibits higher therapeutic efficiency by improving the in vivo behavior of S14 *** encapsulation with micelles,the AUC_(0-t),half-life time,and renal distribution of S14 increase 2.5-,1.8-,and 3.1-fold,*** main factors contributing to the improved druggability of S14 nanodrugs include the lower metabolic elimination rate and UDPglycosyltransferase(UGT)-mediated *** summary,this study identifies a new therapeutic target for the marine-derived anti-AKI agent while enhancing its ADME properties and druggability through nanotechnology,thereby driving advancements in marine drug development for AKI.
