Cardiomyopathy in becker muscular dystrophy:Overview

Becker muscular dystrophy(BMD) is an X-linked recessive disorder involving mutations of the dystrophin gene. Cardiac involvement in BMD has been described and cardiomyopathy represents the number one cause of death in these patients. In this paper, the pathophysiology, clinical evaluations and management of cardiomyopathy in patients with BMD will be discussed.

Determination of the Administration Routes,Doses and Appropriate Age to Vaccinate With Ornitin Triple Vaccine For Cross-breed Colored Broilers in Vietnam

The study was to determine the appropriate dose and administration route of Ornitin Triple vaccine in cross-breed coloured broilers in Vietnam by evaluating the antibody titer against Ornithobacterium rhinotracheale(ORT)and local reactions at injection sites on chickens after *** study was divided into 2 *** trials were designed with 3 vaccine dose groups:0.0ml(control group),0.25ml and 0.5ml and 2 different administration routes:subcutaneous at neck(SC)and intramuscular at breast(IM)*** result showed that,no statistically significant difference was found between antibody titer of two administration routes as well as 2 vaccine doses until *** reactions at the injection sites of IM route was less severe than SC at neck and in higher dose would produce a more severe swelling *** weight gain was found to have a slight decrease in the vaccinated groups within 2 weeks after vaccination,however,no statistically significant difference was found in later stage(P>0.05).In conclusion,Ornitin Triple can be used to vaccinate by IM with the dose of 0.25ml for coloured broilers at early age(3-week-old),or 0.5ml for older birds and should be careful for some reactions at the injection sites.

Finite Element Modeling in Analyzing Physical Properties of the Pb-Free Piezoelectric Materials

New giant piezoelectric factor materials such as PZT, PZN-PZT, PMN-PT and PZN-PT etc. were researched during the last decade and are actually becoming commercially available. However, there is an urgent demand for high performance Pb-free piezoelectric to substitute for the current workhorse, the PZT family. Recently, many Pb-free systems have been reported that shows equally as excellent piezoelectricity as materials in PZT family at room temperature. In this present study, it uses the Finite Element modeling (FEM method) with the simulation program to compare the physic properties of piezoceramics in PZT family and Pb-free piezoceramic Ba(Zr0.2Ti0.8)O3-50(Ba0.7Ca0.3)TiO3 (BZT-50BCT) and show the advantage properties of BZT-50BCT. Furthermore, the results will be a premise of using the simulation method in researching the properties of new piezoelectric materials to shorten time as well as save money and time.

The diversity of aquatic resources in Thi Nai Lagoon decreased due to the lack of harmonious use and integrated long-term planning on the use of living *** remained a lack of mechanisms and regulations for coordination of activities in the lagoon by Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee(PPC).The aim of the study was to investgate the aquatic species and water quality in Thi Nai Lagoon,*** were collected at 23 different points on Thi Nai Lagoon,with three replicates at each *** were 106 species of fish presented on the lagoon and in different sizes,including 17 mollusc species and 15 crustaceans *** the dry season,there were 167 phytoplankton species in five divisions,10 classes in 39 orders in 59 families including 77 *** had eight chordata in 10 classes of 18 orders including 44 families,64 genus and 102 *** had the largest number of species,78 species,accounting for 76.5%of total *** the rainy season,only 48 species of Arthropoda,Cnidaria,Annelida,Chaetognatha and Rotifer were affected and some were not encountered in the wet season,such as mollusca and *** water quality variables were still good for aquaculture,within permitted limits of TCVN standard and criteria,there were still problems caused by production discharges and living activities of inhabitants around the lagoon,such as sedimentary matters.

Assesment of Frequency-Magnitude of Extreme Rainfall Events-Case Study of the MeKong River Delta

Extreme rainfall events are primary natural hazards, which cause a severe threat to people and their properties in populated cities, which are normally located in coastal areas in Vietnam. Analysing these events by using a data series observed over years will support us to draw a picture of how the climate change impact on local environments. The purpose of this report is to understand the characteristics of the extreme rainfall events in MEKONG river delta (south VietNam). Daily rainfall data in the period of 30 years for a meteorological station in each area were collected from the Vietnam National Hydro-meteorological Service. The extreme rainfall events were defined as those exceeding the 95th percentile for each station. The analytical results show that the rainfall values (95th percentile) are 37.4 mm/day at Nam Can station, 27 mm/day at my Thanh station, 22.4 mm/day at Hoa Binh station, 23.8 mm/day at Binh Dai station and 22.7 mm/day at Ben Trai station. The highest rainfall data ever recorded are 246.4 mm/day (Nam Can), 174.5 mm/day (my Thanh), 179 mm/day (Hoa Binh), 187.3 mm/day (Binh Dai) and 136.3 mm/day (Ben Trai) during 1983-2012. The result of the Mann-Kendall tests show that there was a significant creasing of the rainfall at Nam Can, my Thanh station in two periods (1983-2012, 1998-2012) while no clear trend of the rainfall was recoreded at Hoa Binh, Binh Dai, Ben Trai station. In order to estimate the return period of the extreme rainfall events, the method General Extreme Value Distribution was used to calculate frequent distribution. The magnitudes of daily maximum rainfall were from 2 to 100 years. The results of return period show that maximum rainfalls are 46.6 mm at Nam Can station (highest) and 31.4 mm at Hoa Binh station (lowest) during 50 years. Similarly, maximum rainfalls are expected to be about 55.1 mm at Nam Can station and 37.2 mm at Hoa Binh station for 100 years.
