Worldwide,infections caused by drug‐resistant pathogens constitute a significant challenge threatening therapeutic *** to the World Health Organization(WHO),antimicrobial resistance(AMR)ranks among the top 10 global public health *** with a high rate of multiple host adaptivity,significant genetic diversity(multiple lineages),high virulence factors,and genetic exchange have been isolated from various sources(humans,animals,and the environment)even without exposure to prior *** now,the source of AMR and how resistant clones are selected in the environment remain largely elusive,and potential anthropogenic transmission has been reported in different *** drug‐resistant pathogens,lineages,resistant clones,outbreak clusters,plasmid replicates,and genes that play a critical role in resistance dissemination have been *** of certain multidrug‐resistant(MDR)determinants has also been shown to enhance or support the propagation of *** far,significant advances have been made in understanding the burden of ***,overcoming AMR requires a holistic approach,as there is no single approach with sufficient precision to curb the *** strengthening AMR surveillance efforts is essential,as we have shown,there is also a need to intensify efforts to strengthen therapeutic interventions,especially in priority regions such as ***,we discussed the burden of AMR and the dissemination of AMR in humans,animals,and the environment(non‐medical drivers).We further delved into the big questions on Africa and discussed how therapeutic interventions involving vaccines and other viable biomaterials could be pivotal in reducing the burden of AMR to the barest minimum.

Calibration of Four Nonlinear Failure Envelopes from Triaxial Test Data and Influence of Nonlinearity on Geotechnical Computations

It is now recognized that many geomaterials have nonlinear failure envelopes. This non-linearity is most marked at lower stress levels, the failure envelope being of quasi-parabolic shape. It is not easy to calibrate these nonlinear failure envelopes from triaxial test data. Currently only the power-type failure envelope has been studied with an established formal procedure for its determination from triaxial test data. In this paper, a simplified procedure is evolved for the development of four different types of nonlinear envelopes. These are of invaluable assistance in the evaluation of true factors of safety in problems of slope stability and correct computation of lateral earth pressure and bearing capacity. The use of the Mohr-Coulomb failure envelopes leads to an overestimation of the factors of safety and other geotechnical quantities.

Image j Analysis of Six Different Annealed Temperatures of 0.17% C of HSLA Steels

Annealing is a heat treatment procedure in which the mechanical properties of a material are being altered, and such alterations cause changes in its properties such as strength and hardness. It is usually carried out to improve ductility and toughness, to reduce hardness and to remove carbides. This study deals with the use of image analysis processing method for the measurement of structure of six annealed samples of 0.17% High Strength Low Alloy (HSLA) Steels (840°C - 990°C) with 30°C interval and 30 minutes soaking time. From the optical microscope images using Image j program, some parameters like calculation of area, pixel value statistics, distances and angles measurements, edge detection, such as the circularity, ferret angle, solidity and perimeter, average area and the percentage area were examined. The annealed sample of 960°C gave the highest grain count of 543 with a perimeter of 41.518;standard deviation 7.057 and a mean of 28.722 which shows that annealing greatly improved the fatigue life of the steel. From the mechanical analysis result, the annealed sample at 840°C has a highest hardness value of 129.4 BHN and gave the lowest impact value of 58.75 j. This study shows a significant decrease in the hardness value as the annealing temperature increased which signifies that annealing temperature enhanced the fatigue property and tensile strength (wear strength) of the steel in study.
