A new generic open pit mine planning process with risk assessment ability

Conventionally, mining industry relies on a deterministic view, where a unique mine plan is determined based on a single resource model. A major shortfall of this approach is the inability to assess the risk caused by the well-known geological uncertainty, i.e. the in situ grade and tonnage variability of the mineral deposit. Despite some recent attempts in developing stochastic mine planning models which have demonstrated promising results, the industry still remains sceptical about this innovative idea. With respect to unbiased linear estimation, kriging is the most popular and reliable deterministic interpolation technique for resource estimation and it appears to remain its popularity in the near future. This paper presents a new systematic framework to quantify the risk of kriging-based mining projects due to the geological uncertainties. Firstly, conditional simulation is implemented to generate a series of equally-probable orebody realisations and these realisations are then compared with the kriged resource model to analyse its geological uncertainty. Secondly, a production schedule over the life of mine is determined based on the kriged resource model. Finally, risk profiles of that production schedule, namely ore and waste tonnage production, blending grade and Net Present Value （NPV）, are constructed using the orebody realisations. The proposed model was applied on a multi-element deposit and the result demonstrates that that the kriging-based mine plan is unlikely to meet the production targets. Especially, the kriging-based mine plan overestimated the expected NPV at a magnitude of 6.70% to 7.34% （135 M$ to 151 M$）. A new multivariate conditional simulation framework was also introduced in this paper to cope with the multivariate nature of the deposit. Although an iron ore deposit is used to prove the concepts, the method can easily be adapted to other kinds of mineral deposits, including surface coal mine.

Fabrication of zinc-based coordination polymer nano-cubes and post-modification through copper decoration

Coordination polymer particles (CPPs) with a high degree of porosity and multi-functional reaction sites are promising for diverse applications. The integration of open sites favorable for the post-modification of CPPs presents a unique opportunity for the rational design of inorganic materials with target-oriented functions. Herein, we report a shape-controllable synthetic protocol for zinc-based coordination polymer nanocubes (Zn-CPNs). In the synthesis, 2,6-bis[(4-carboxyanilino)carbonyl] pyridine ([N3]) ligand is employed as an efficient shape-directing modulator to control the size and shape of Zn-CPNs. More importantly, the [N3] ligand provides metal binding sites suitable for the decoration of other functional metals such as copper ions. The copper-modified Zn-CPNs (Cu_Zn-CPNs) show good activities in a heterogeneous catalytic reaction.

Background Characteristics of Atmospheric CO2 and the Potential Source Regions in the Pearl River Delta Region of China

Mole fractions of atmospheric CO2(XCO2)have been continuously measured from October 2014 to March 2016 at the Guangzhou Panyu Atmospheric Composition Site(23.00°N,113.21°E;140 m MSL)in the Pearl River Delta(PRD)region using a cavity ring-down *** 66.63%,19.28%,and 14.09%of the observed values were filtered as background,pollutant source,and sink due to biospheric uptake,respectively,by applying a robust local regression *** corresponding mean values were 424.12±10.12 ppm(×10-6 mol mol-1),447.83±13.63 ppm,and 408.83±7.75 *** background XCO2 levels were highest in spring and winter,moderate in autumn,and lowest in *** diurnal XCO2 was at a minimum from 1400-1600 LST(Local Standard Time)and a maximum at 0500 LST the next *** increase of XCO2 in spring and summer was mainly associated with polluted air masses from south coastal Vietnam,the South China Sea,and the southeast Pearl River *** the exception of summer,airflow primarily from marine regions southeast of Taiwan that passed over the Pearl River Estuary had a greater impact on XCO2,suggesting an important potential source region.

Association between measles antibodies in vaccinated and naturally infected mothers with protective antibodies and the occurrence of measles in their children:A cross-sectional study in the Bavi district of Hanoi

Objective:To determine the concentration and rate of decay of maternal IgG antibodies against measles prevalence in infants of vaccinated or naturally infected mothers and study initial measles immunization occurs in nine-month-old ***:In total,401 pregnant women and the same number of their subsequent newborns were recruited in the Bavi district of Hanoi in 2016-2017;they were divided into two groups:Older women(born before 1985,n=201)and younger women(born after 1990,n=200).Samples were collected at five time-points;week 36 of pregnancy,birth(cord),and 3,6,and 9 months after ***-specific IgG antibody levels were ***:In total,77.06% of the 401 pregnant women were seropositive for measles-specific IgG antibodies.A significantly greater proportion of mothers aged 30 and older(88.06%)and their newborn(93.53%)were seropositive compared to the mothers aged 25 and younger(66.00%),and their newborn(72.00%)(P<0.001).The infants of older mothers had significantly higher geometric mean titres(GMT)of measles IgG antibodies than the infants of younger mothers(P<0.001)at all time-points of the study *** proportion of measles IgG antibodies together with GMT decreased from 82.97%(506.96)at the age of three months to 23.19%(45.22)at the age of nine ***:This study provides a profile of maternal antibodies against measles in Vietnamese infants and investigates the early susceptibility to measles in both the infants of vaccinated mothers and mothers with naturally acquired *** data suggest that determining the appropriate age for measles vaccination is paramount for the elimination of measles in Vietnam.

Language education centers primarily on fostering linguistic skills and language communication skills for students. In the process of teaching Chinese language, it is in the classroom that is the place tofoster student’s linguistic competence and language communication capacity. Therefore, classroom teaching becomes the main place tofoster the language ability and language communication capacity for students while the extracurricular activities are the place for students to apply the knowledge they have learned in the classroom in to the real world. Conducting a survey to investigate extracurricular activities for Chinese language majors at Thai Nguyen University, School of Foreign Languages, the paper proposes solutions to improve the effectiveness of extracurricular activities for students and create excitement for students in learning.

Organic photovoltaic devices with high open-circuit voltage based on oligothiophene derivatives

For the purpose of developing organic photovoltaic devices with good performance characteristics, we have fabricated two devices using 4T-CHO, 5T-CHO and PTCDA. The ITO/4T-CHO/PTCDA/Al device has a Voc of 2.45 V and photoelectric conversion efficiency of 2.76%. The ITO/ST-CHO/PTCDA/Al device has a Voc of 2.1 3V and photoelectric conversion efficiency of 2.90%. The two devices have higher Voc （2.45 and 2.13 V）. It is possible that intennolecular hydrogen bonding between -CHO group of nT-CHO and carboxylic dianhydride of PTCDA contribute to enhance the efficiency by promoting interracial electron transfer and eliminating the subconducting band trap sites.

For the purpose of developing flexible organic photovoltaic devices, we have fabricated two flexible devices using 5-formyl- 2,2′：5′,2″：5″,2′″-quaterthiophene （4T-CHO）, 5-formyl-2,2′：5′, 2″：5″,2′″：5′″,2″″-quinquethiophene （5T-CHO） and 3,4,9,10-perylenetertracarboxylic dianhydride （PTCDA）. The PET-ITO/4T-CHO/PTCDA/A1 device has an open circuit voltage （Voc） of 1.56 V, photoelectric conversion efficiency of 0.77%. The PET-ITO/5T-CHO/PTCDA/A1 device has a Voc of 1.70 V, photoelectric conversion efficiency of 0.84%. The two flexible devices have high Voc （1.56 and 1.70 V）. It is possible that intermolecular hydrogen bonding between -CHO group of nT-CHO and carboxylic dianhydride of PTCDA contributes to enhancing the efficiency by promoting interfacial electron transfer and eliminating the subconducting band trap sites.

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused millions of deaths and hundreds of millions of confirmed infections *** pandemic has prompted researchers to produce medications or vaccines to reduce or stop the progression and spread of this disease.A variety of previously licensed and marketed medications are being tested for the treatment and recurrence of SARS-CoV2,including favipiravir(Avigan).Favipiravir was recognized as an influenza antiviral drug in Japan in 2014,and has been known to have a potential in vitro activity against SARS-CoV-2,in addition to its broad therapeutic safety *** was recently approved and officially used in many countries *** review provides insights and up-to-date knowledge of the current role of favipiravir in the treatment of COVID-19 infection,focusing on preclinical and ongoing clinical trials,evidence of its efficacy against SARS-CoV-2 in COVID-19,side effects,anti-viral mechanism,and the pharmacokinetic properties of the drug in the treatment of *** to its teratogenic effects,favipiravir cannot be offered to expectant or pregnant *** practical efficacy of such an intervention regimen will depend on its dose,treatment duration,and cost as well as difficulties in application.

Antioxidant Activity and Anti-Hyperglycemic Effect of Lagenaria Siceraria Fruit Extract

Lagenaria siceraria （Molina） Standl., known as bottle gourd is widely available throughout Vietnam as an edible vegetable. Bottle gourd is a commonly fruit but there are little reports about its biological activities. The aim of the present study was to evaluate antioxidant activity and anti-hyperglycemic potential of ethanolic extract of bottle gourd. The ethanolic extract was tested for its antioxidant activity on chelating power, the ferric reducing/antioxidant power assay （FRAP） and the 1, 1-diphenyl-2-picryl-hydrazyl （DPPH） free radical scavenging assay. The results showed that chelating activity was 80.02%, FRAP value was 92.84 μmol Fe^2＋/g and active radical scavenging which showed an IC50 was 49.50 μg/ml. The five different doses of ethanolic extract were treated by oral tolerance to mice body before oral glucose tolerance and blood glucose level was measured using glucose oxidase method. The result indicated that inhibition percentage of ethanolic extract of bottle gourd at the dose of 400 mg/kg in glucose-induced hyperglycemic mice was effectively similar to standard drug glibenclamide. The results obtained indicate that ethanolic extract from bottle gourd is the potential antioxidant and anti-hyperglycemic agent.

The gut microbiota plays an important role in host health and *** understanding of the fish microbiota lags far behind our knowledge of that of humans and other ***,research has highlighted the importance of the microbiota in the health,performance,and various physiological functions of *** microbiota has been studied in various fish species,including model animals,economic fish,and wild fish *** composition of the fish microbiota depends on host selection,diet,and environmental *** intestinal microbiota affects the nutritional metabolism,immunity,and disease resistance of the fish host,while the host regulates the intestinal microbiota in a reciprocal way through both immune and non-immune *** and novel gnotobiotic fish models have been developed,which are important for the mechanistic study of host–microbiota interactions in *** this review,we discuss recent progress in fish microbiota *** describe various aspects of this research,including both studies on fish microbiota variations and fundamental research extending our knowledge of host–microbiota interaction in *** on how fish microbiota research may benefit fish health and industrial sustainability are also discussed.
