Gamma-ray bursts are the most luminous explosions in the Universe, whose origin and mechanism are the focus of intense interest. They appear connected to su- pernova remnants from massive stars or the merger of their remnants, and their bright- ness makes them temporarily detectable out to the largest distances yet explored in the universe. After pioneering breakthroughs from space and ground experiments, their study is entering a new phase with observations from the recently launched Fermi satellite, as well as the prospect of detections or limits from large neutrino and gravitational wave detectors. The interplay between such observations and theoretical models of gamma-ray bursts is reviewed, and cosmology. as well as their connections to supernovae

AIm:To identify the genes induced and regulated by the mYC protein in generating tumors from liver stem ***:In this study,we have used an immortal porcine liver stem cell line,PICm-19,to study the role of c-mYC in ***-19 cells were converted into cancer cells(PICm-19-CSCs)by overexpressing human *** identify mYC-driven differential gene expression,transcriptome sequencing was carried out by RnA sequencing,and genes identified by this method were validated using real-time *** vivo tumorigenicity studies were then conducted by injecting PICm-19-CSCs into the flanks of immunodeficient ***:Our results showed that mYC-overexpressing PICm-19 stem cells formed tumors in immunodeficient mice demonstrating that a single oncogene was sufficient to convert them into cancer cells(PICm-19-CSCs).By using comparative bioinformatics analyses,we have determined that>1000 genes were differentially expressed between PICm-19 and *** ontology analysis further showed that the mYCinduced,altered gene expression was primarily associated with various cellular processes,such as metabolism,cell adhesion,growth and proliferation,cell cycle,inflammation and ***,six genes expressed by PICm-19 cells(CDO1,C22orf39,DKK2,EnPEP,GPX6,SRPX2)were completely silenced after mYC-induction in PICm-19-CSCs,suggesting that the absence of these genes may be critical for ***:mYC-driven genes may serve as promising candidates for the development of hepatocellular carcinoma therapeutics that would not have deleterious effects on other cell types in the liver.

Herein,we report the victorious synthesis of metal-organic frameworks(mOFs) on TiO_2 nanotubes(nTs)using a layer-by-layer(LbL) *** crystalline and homogenous thin films of mOFs were grown and characterized using XRD,SEm,FT-IR and UV/Vis ***,the utilization of the mOF films as sensitizers was probed in bespoke Graetzel type liquid junction solar *** constructed cell performance revealed an I_(sc) of 1.16 mA cm^(–2),Vocof 0.63 V,FF of 0.33,and E_(ff) of 0.42%.Further,pumpprobe transient laser spectroscopy was performed to investigate the energy and charge transfer dynamics of the mOFs/TiO_2 nTs *** results indicated 86% injection *** ultrafast pump-probe spectroscopy allows the investigation of this process and the differences between *** also showed that the relaxation of the mOF chromophores is in competition with electron injection in the Ti O2 *** this study provides a new insight into electron transfer from photoexcited metal-organic frameworks(mOFs) into titanium dioxide.

The solid state synthesis of the phase"Ce_(3)nbO_(7+δ)",from stoichiometric quantities of CeO_(2)and nb_(2)O_(5),was investigated under air atmosphere,as previously described by Zhang et al.(Journal of Rare Earths,2007,25,730-733),A combination of powder X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray analysis,and laboratory Ce L_(3)X-ray absorption spectroscopy,demonstrates the product of the reaction to be a mixture of CeO_(2)and CenbO_(4).These data,and reexamination of the published X-ray diffraction data of"Ce_(3)nbO_(7+δ)",are consistent with this phase in fact being CeO_(2).no evidence for the formation of a phase of composition"Ce_(3)nbO_(7+δ)"is found,by solid state synthesis under air atmosphere.

BACKGROUnD There is limited literature on managing the airway of patients with linear immunoglobulin A(IgA)bullous dermatosis,a rare mucocutaneous disorder that leads to the development of friable *** clinical decision making is necessary when there is a risk of bleeding into the airway,and a multidisciplinary team approach may lead to decreased patient morbidity during these high-risk scenarios,especially when confronted with an unusual cause for *** SUmmARY A 45-year-old African American female presented to our ambulatory surgical center for right corneal transplantation due to corneal perforation after blunt trauma in the setting of cicatricial conjunctivitis and diffuse corneal neovascularization from linear IgA bullous *** diagnosis of IgA dermatosis was recent,and the patient had been lost to *** severity of the disease and extent of airway involvement was unknown at the time of the *** airway bleeding was noticed upon intubation and the otorhinolaryngology team had to be called to the operating *** patient required transfer to the intensive care unit where a multidisciplinary team was involved in her *** patient was extubated on postoperative day *** A multidisciplinary approach to treating this disease is the best course of action before a surgical *** our case,key communication between the surgery,anesthesia,and dermatology teams led to the quick and safe treatment of our patient’s *** surgery should not be considered for these cases unless they are in full remission and there is no mucous membrane involvement.

Recent scientific consensus suggests that climate-related disasters are becoming more frequent and ***,increasing importance is given to disaster risk reduction(DRR)and climate change adaptation(CCA)in global *** projected global warming at 1.5℃and the climate variability that the Philippine archipelago experiences make DRR-CCA the key priorities of both the national and local government *** this study,we assessed and measured the degree of mainstreaming of DRR-CCA in the comprehensive development plans(CDPs)of the five component cities in the province of nueva Ecija in the *** are among the areas in Central Luzon that are susceptible to hydrometeorological and geologic *** distributed survey questionnaires to 25 employees of the local government units in the five component cities in nueva Ecija who are directly involved in planning *** triangulated their responses using archival data(review of written policies and plans).The main findings of the study indicate that in spite the presence of laws and policies on DRR-CCA,their implementation is only in the preliminary *** results also provide insights to policymakers and future researchers on the challenges and opportunities influencing the systemic mainstreaming of DRR-CCA in the province.

Bats account for 30% of mammal diversity in SE Asia and are potential bioindicators of wider biodiversity impacts resulting from habitat loss and climate change. As existing sampling techniques in the region typically fail to record bats that habitually fly in open areas and at higher altitudes, current inventory efforts are less than comprehensive. Acoustic sampling with bat detectors may help to overcome these limitations for insectivorous bats, but has yet to be tested in mainland SE Asia. To do so, we sampled bats while simultaneously recording the echolocation calls of insectivorous species commuting and foraging in a variety of karst habitats in north Vietnam. monitoring of cave-dwelling bats was also undertaken. Discriminant function analysis of 367 echolocation calls produced by 30 insectivorous species showed that acoustic identification was feasible by correctly classifying 89. 1% of calls. In all habitats, acoustic sampling and capture methods recorded significantly more species each night than capture methods alone. Capture methods consequently failed to record 29% （ten spp. of aerial insectivores） of the bat fauna in commuting and foraging habitats and 11% （two spp. ） of that in our cave sample. Only four of these species were subsequently captured following significantly greater sampling effort. This strongly suggests that acoustic methods are indispensable for maximizing bat inventory completeness in SE Asia. As accurate inventories and monitoring are essential for effective species conservation, we recommend the inclusion of acoustic sampling in future studies of bat assemblages across the region [ Current Zoology 55 （5）： 327 - 341, 2009].

The conservation status of all the amphibians in China is analyzed,and the country is shown to be a global priority for conservation in comparison to many other countries of the *** Chinese regions are particularly rich in amphibian diversity:Hengduan,nanling,and Wuyi ***-manders are more threatened than frogs and *** smaller families show a high propensity to become seriously threatened:Bombinatoridae,Cryptobranchidae,Hynobiidae and *** other parts of the world,stream-breeding,high-elevation forest amphibians have a much higher likeli-hood of being seriously *** loss,pollution,and over-harvesting are the most serious threats to Chinese ***-harvesting is a less pervasive threat than habitat loss,but it is more likely to drive a species into rapid *** conservation challenges are mentioned with recommendations for the highest priority research and conservation actions.
