This is the first report on a polysaccharide(RCJ2-Ib)isolated from Rosa Chinensis ***2-Ib was obtained through the extraction with water,precipitation with ethanol,separation with dEAE-52 column and purification with dEAE-Sepharose Fast Flow column and Sephadex G100 ***,FT-IR and NMR analyses revealed that RCJ2-Ib(3.3 k da)was a 1,4-linked polymannuronic acid containing substantialβ-danomers *** anticoagulant effect of RCJ2-Ib evaluated by using rabbit ear venous blood and an acute blood stasis rat model showed that RCJ2-Ib had obvious anticoagulant activity in regulating endogenous and exogenous coagulation pathways and reducing serum thromboxane B2 and *** addition,RCJ2-Ib could also increase the number of Lactobacillus and Escherichia *** a result,RCJ2-Ib has the potential to inhibit thrombosis and maintain the intestinal environment.

In order to ensure that the highest quality of literature is published, most journals utilize a peer review process for manuscripts submitted. Although the primary purpose for this process is to filter out "bad science", the process is not perfect. While there is a general consensus among researchers and clinicians that something must be done to improve upon the method for properly vetting manuscripts, there are conflicting opinions on how to best implement new policies. In this paper, we discuss the most well-supported suggestions to improve the process, with the hopes of increasing rigor and reproducibility, ensuring double-blinding, developing set guidelines, offering early training to reviewers, and giving reviewers better feedback and recognition for their work.

Background and Aims:There has been increasing evidence that vitamin d deficiency may increase the risk of metabolic *** metabolic syndrome is a major risk factor for non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLd),we aimed to investigate the association between vitamin d and the severity and mortality of ***:data was obtained from the United States Third National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey conducted in 1988-1994,with followup mortality data through *** was defined by ultrasonographic detection of hepatic steatosis in the absence of other liver diseases and categorized as normal,mild,moderate or *** severity of hepatic fibrosis was determined by NAFLd fibrosis score (NFS).ANOVA (F-test) was used to evaluate the association between vitamin d level and degree of NAFLd,and Cox proportional hazards regression analysis was used for survival ***:Vitamin d levels for normal,mild,moderate and severe steatosis were 25.1 ± 0.29 ng/mL,24.7 ± 0.42 ng/mL,23.7 ± 0.37 ng/mL and 23.6 ± 0.60 ng/mL,respectively (trend p d levels for low,intermediate and high NFS categories were 24.7 ± 0.38 ng/mL,23.4 ± 0.42 ng/mL and 21.5 ± 0.57 ng/mL,respectively (trend p dian-follow up over 19 years,vitamin d deficiency was significantly associated with diabetes-and Alzheimer's diseaserelated mortality (hazard ratio (HR):3.64,95%CI:1.51-8.82 and HR:4.80,95%CI:1.53-15.1,respectively),with a borderline significance in overall mortality (HR:1.16,95%CI:0.99-1.36,p =0.06).Conclusion:Vitamin d level was inversely related to the degree of liver steatosis and ***,vitamin d deficiency was associated with diabetes-and Alzheimer's disease-related mortality in NAFLd patients.

Examples of practical approaches to molecular epidemiology of human cancer are described. Biomarkers of carcinogen exposure or inherited host factors for cancer susceptibility are discussed. Major advances have been made in the detection of carcinogenmacromolecular adducts through the use of high performance liquid chromatography, immunoaffinity chromatography, the32P-postlabeling assay, enzyme immunoassays, gas chromatography/mass spectroscopy and synchronous spectrophotofluorimetry. The polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon-dNA adducts are the most extensively studied in this field and together with antibodies to these adducts found in human serum, they have become useful indicators of exposure to carcinogens. Assays for various kinds of alky1-dNA adducts have also been developed and the presence of these adducts have been documented in human tissues. AIM To establish the impact of portal hypertension(PH) on wait-list/post-transplant outcomes in patients with polycystic liver disease(PCLd) listed for liver transplantation. METHOdS A retrospective single-centre case controlled study of consecutive patients listed for liver transplantation over 12 years was performed from our centre. PH in the PCLd cohort was defined by the one or more of following parameters:(1) presence of radiological or endoscopic documented varices from our own centre or the referral centre;(2) splenomegaly(> 11 cm) on radiology inabsence of splenic cysts accounting for increased imaging size;(3) thrombocytopenia(platelets diological evidence of hepatic venous outflow obstruction from a single cyst. RESULTS Forty-seven PCLd patients(F: M = 42: 5) were listed for liver transplantation(LT)(single organ, n = 35; combined liver-kidney transplantation, n = 12) with 19 patients(40.4%) having PH. When comparing the PH group with non-PH group, the mean listing age(PH group, 50.6(6.4); non-PH group, 47.1(7.4) years; P = 0.101), median listing MELd(PH group, 12; non-PH group, 11; P = 0.422) median listing UKELd score(PH group, 48; non-PH group, 46; P = 0.344) and need for renal replacement therapy(P = 0.317) were similar. In the patients who underwent LT alone, there was no difference in the duration of ICU stay(PH, 3 d; non-PH, 2 d; P = 0.188), hospital stay length(PH, 9 d; non-PH, 10 d; P = 0.973), or frequency of renal replacement therapy(PH, 2/8; non-PH, 1/14; P = 0.121) in the immediate post-transplantation period. CONCLUSION Clinically apparent portal hypertension in patients with PCLd listed for liver transplantation does not appear to have a major impact on wait-list or peri-transplant morbidity.

This article proposes the concept of policy blending to improve our understanding of the densely interactive quality of political initiatives in early 1950s China. Using three cases studies, I argue that policy blending, defined as the process by which previous political experiences shaped the implementation and interpretation of those subsequent to them （sometimes in ways contrary to the government＇s intentions）, occurred frequently during this period, to the extent that people＇s understanding of the first years of Chinese Communist Party rule cannot be separated from this phenomenon. Using examples from marriage registration, the Marriage Law and the national discussion of the 1954 draft Constitution, I advance the historiographical argument that the early 1950s should not be demarcated by, or taught mainly with reference to, ＂temporally encapsulated＂ policies with clear beginnings and ends （i.e., policy ＂a＂ occurred in year ＂b,＂ followed by policy ＂c＂ in year ＂d＂）. Rather, policies seeped into each other, producing a blurry--but sometimes accurate--＂impression＂ of state power. I further suggest that the concept of policy blending can be helpful in understanding subsequent political initiatives as well.

Oilseed Brassica species are vulnerable to heat and drought stress,especially in the early reproductive *** evaluated plant imaging of whole plant and flower tissue,leaf stomatal conductance,leaf and bud temperature,photochemical reflectance index,quantumyield of photosynthesis,and leaf gas exchange for their suitability to detect tolerance to heat(H)and/or drought(d)stress treatments in 12 Brassica genotypes(G).A replicated factorial experiment was set up with 7 d of stress treatment fromthe beginning of anthesis with various levels of three factors H,d,and𝐺.Most phenomics tools detected plant stress as indicated by significant main effects of H,d,and H×*** plant volume was highly correlated with fresh weight changes,suggesting that whole plant imaging may be a useful surrogate for fresh weight in future ***,the maximum carboxylation rate of photosynthesis,increased rapidly on day 1 in H and H+d treatments,and there were significant interactions of G×H and G×*** of genotypes on day 1 inHandH+dtreatments was positively correlated with their harvested seed *** onday 1 andday3were clustered with seed yield in H and H+d treatments as shown in the heatmaps of genotypic ***,the rate of triose phosphate use,also showed significant positive genotypic correlations with seed yield in H+d *** volume showed significant interactions of G×H and G×d on day 7,and flower volume of genotypes on day 7 inHwas positively correlated with their harvested seed *** were few interactions of G×H or G×d for leaf stomatal conductance,leaf and bud temperature,photochemical reflectance index,and quantum yield of ***,TPU,and volume of flowers are potential nondestructive phenomic traits for heat or combined heat and drought stress tolerance screening in Brassica germplasm.
