Thermalization and relaxation mediated by phonon management in tin-lead perovskites

Understanding and control of ultrafast non-equilibrium processes in semiconductors is key to making use of the full photon energy before relaxation,leading to new ways to break efficiency limits for solar energy *** this work,we demonstrate the observation and modulation of slow relaxation in uniformly mixed tin-lead perovskites(MASn_(x)Pb_(1-x)I_(3)and csSn_(x)Pb_(1-x)I_(3)nanocrystals).Transient absorption measurements reveal that slow cooling mediated by a hot phonon bottleneck effect appears at carrier densities above~10^(18)cm^(−3)for tin-lead alloy nanocrystals,and tin addition is found to give rise to suppressed *** the alloy nanoparticles,the combination of a newly introduced high-energy band,screened Fröhlich interaction,suppressed Klemens decay and reduced thermal conductivity(acoustic phonon transport)with increased tin content contributes to the slowed *** inorganic nanocrystals where defect states couple strongly with carriers,sodium doping has been confirmed to benefit in maintaining hot carriers by decoupling them from deep defects,leading to a decreased energy-loss rate during thermalization and an enhanced hot phonon bottleneck *** slow cooling we observe uncovers the intrinsic photophysics of perovskite nanocrystals,with implications for photovoltaic applications where suppressed cooling could lead to hot-carrier solar cells.

The solid state synthesis of the phase"ce_(3)NbO_(7+δ)",from stoichiometric quantities of ceO_(2)and Nb_(2)O_(5),was investigated under air atmosphere,as previously described by Zhang et al.(Journal of Rare Earths,2007,25,730-733),A combination of powder X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray analysis,and laboratory ce L_(3)X-ray absorption spectroscopy,demonstrates the product of the reaction to be a mixture of ceO_(2)and ceNbO_(4).These data,and reexamination of the published X-ray diffraction data of"ce_(3)NbO_(7+δ)",are consistent with this phase in fact being ceO_(2).No evidence for the formation of a phase of composition"ce_(3)NbO_(7+δ)"is found,by solid state synthesis under air atmosphere.

AIM:To identify the genes induced and regulated by the MYc protein in generating tumors from liver stem ***:In this study,we have used an immortal porcine liver stem cell line,PIcM-19,to study the role of c-MYc in ***-19 cells were converted into cancer cells(PIcM-19-cScs)by overexpressing human *** identify MYc-driven differential gene expression,transcriptome sequencing was carried out by RNA sequencing,and genes identified by this method were validated using real-time *** vivo tumorigenicity studies were then conducted by injecting PIcM-19-cScs into the flanks of immunodeficient ***:Our results showed that MYc-overexpressing PIcM-19 stem cells formed tumors in immunodeficient mice demonstrating that a single oncogene was sufficient to convert them into cancer cells(PIcM-19-cScs).By using comparative bioinformatics analyses,we have determined that>1000 genes were differentially expressed between PIcM-19 and *** ontology analysis further showed that the MYcinduced,altered gene expression was primarily associated with various cellular processes,such as metabolism,cell adhesion,growth and proliferation,cell cycle,inflammation and ***,six genes expressed by PIcM-19 cells(cDO1,c22orf39,DKK2,ENPEP,GPX6,SRPX2)were completely silenced after MYc-induction in PIcM-19-cScs,suggesting that the absence of these genes may be critical for ***:MYc-driven genes may serve as promising candidates for the development of hepatocellular carcinoma therapeutics that would not have deleterious effects on other cell types in the liver.

Low anterior resection can be a challenging operation, especially in obese male patients and in particular after radiotherapy. Transanal total mesorectal excision(Ta TME) might offer technical advantages over laparoscopic or open approaches particularly for tumors in the distal third of the rectum. The aim of this article is to review the current experience with Ta TME. The limits and future developments are also explored. Although the experience with Ta TME is still limited, it might be a promising alternative to laparoscopic TME, especially for difficult cases where laparoscopy is too demanding. The preliminary data on complications and short-term oncological outcomes are good, but also emphasize the importance of careful patient selection. Finally, there is a need for large-scale trials focusing on long-term outcomes and oncological safety before widespread adoption can be recommended.

BAcKGROUND There is limited literature on managing the airway of patients with linear immunoglobulin A(IgA)bullous dermatosis,a rare mucocutaneous disorder that leads to the development of friable *** clinical decision making is necessary when there is a risk of bleeding into the airway,and a multidisciplinary team approach may lead to decreased patient morbidity during these high-risk scenarios,especially when confronted with an unusual cause for *** SUMMARY A 45-year-old African American female presented to our ambulatory surgical center for right corneal transplantation due to corneal perforation after blunt trauma in the setting of cicatricial conjunctivitis and diffuse corneal neovascularization from linear IgA bullous *** diagnosis of IgA dermatosis was recent,and the patient had been lost to *** severity of the disease and extent of airway involvement was unknown at the time of the *** airway bleeding was noticed upon intubation and the otorhinolaryngology team had to be called to the operating *** patient required transfer to the intensive care unit where a multidisciplinary team was involved in her *** patient was extubated on postoperative day *** A multidisciplinary approach to treating this disease is the best course of action before a surgical *** our case,key communication between the surgery,anesthesia,and dermatology teams led to the quick and safe treatment of our patient’s *** surgery should not be considered for these cases unless they are in full remission and there is no mucous membrane involvement.

Rediscovering Don Swanson:The Past,Present and Future of Literature-based Discovery

Purpose： The late Don R. Swanson was well appreciated during his lifetime as Dean of the Graduate Library School at University of chicago, as winner of the American Society for Information Science Award of Merit for 2000, and as author of many seminal articles. In this informal essay, I will give my personal perspective on Don＇s contributions to science, and outline some current and future directions in literature-based discovery that are rooted in concepts that he ***/methodology/approach： Personal recollections and literature review. Findings： The Swanson A-B-c model of literature-based discovery has been successfully used by laboratory investigators analyzing their findings and hypotheses. It continues to be a fertile area of research in a wide range of application areas including text mining, drug repurposing, studies of scientific innovation, knowledge discovery in databases, and bioinformatics. Recently, additional modes of discovery that do not follow the A-B-c model have also been proposed and explored （e.g. so-called storytelling, gaps, analogies, link prediction, negative consensus, outliers, and revival of neglected or discarded research questions）. Research limitations： This paper reflects the opinions of the author and is not a comprehensive nor technically based review of literature-based discovery. Practical implications： The general scientific public is still not aware of the availability of tools for literature-based discovery. Our Arrowsmith project site maintains a suite of discovery tools that are free and open to the public （http：//***）, as does BITOLA which is maintained by Dmitar Hristovski （http：// http：//***/bitola）, and Epiphanet which is maintained by Trevor cohen （http：//***/）.
