Background and Aims:This study aimed to determine the performance of the non-invasive score using noncontrastenhanced MRI(CHESS-DIS score)for detecting portal hy-pertension in ***:In this international multicenter,diagnostic study(***,NCT03766880),patients with cirrhosis who had hepatic venous pressure gradient(HVPG)measurement and noncontrast-enhanced MRI were prospectively recruited from four university hospitals in China(n=4)and Turkey(n=1)between December 2018 and April 2019.A cohort of patients was retrospectively recruited from a university hospital in Italy between March 2015 and November *** segmentation of the liver on fat-suppressed T1-weighted MRI maps,CHESS-DIS score was calculated automatically by an in-house developed code based on the quantification of liver surface ***:A total of 149 patients were included,of which 124 were from four Chinese hospitals(training cohort)and 25 were from two international hospitals(validation cohort).A positive correlation between CHESS-DIS score and HVPG was found with the correlation coefficients of 0.36(p<0.0001)and 0.55(p<0.01)for the training and validation cohorts,*** area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of CHESS-DIS score in detection of clinically significant portal hypertension(CSPH)was 0.81 and 0.9 in the training and validation cohorts,*** intra-class correlation coefficients for assessing the inter-and intra-observer agreement were 0.846 and 0.841,***:A non-invasive score using noncontrast-enhanced MRI was developed and proved to be significantly correlated with invasive ***,this score could be used to detect CSPH in patients with cirrhosis.

This research investigated the removal capacity of polymeric sub-micron ion-exchange resins(SMR) for removal of lead, copper, zinc, and nickel from natural waters in competition with natural organic matter(NOM). Polymeric SMR particles were created and tested to ensure that they were adequately dispersed in the solution. They removed little NOM(10%or less) from river water and wastewater, indicating that competition from NOM was not a major concern. SMR were able to remove 82% ± 0.2% of lead, 46% ± 0.6% of copper, 55% ±20% of zinc, and 17% ± 2% of nickel from river water spiked with 500 μg/L of each. Similarly,in wastewater, they were able to remove 86% ± 0.1% of lead, 38% ± 0.8% of copper, 28% ± 1%of zinc, and 11% ± 1% of nickel.

Endocrine disrupting compounds（EDCs） and pharmaceuticals pose a challenge for water and wastewater treatment because they exist at very low concentrations in the presence of substances at much higher concentrations competing for adsorption ***-micron sized resin particles（approximately 300 nm in diameter）（SMR） were tested to evaluate their potential as a treatment for EDCs including：17-β estradiol（E2）,17-α ethinylestradiol（EE2）,estrone（E1）,bisphenol A（BPA）,and diethylstilbestrol（DES） as well as 12 *** were able to remove 98%of spiked E2,80%of EE2,87%of BPA,and up to 97%of DES from *** a 0.5 ppm mixture of E2,EE2,E1,BPA and DES,the minimum removal was24%（E2） and the maximum was 49%（DES）.They were also able to remove the pharmaceuticals from deionized water and ***,SMR are a promising advanced treatment for removal of both EDCs and pharmaceuticals.

The Arzular mineralization is one of the best examples of epithermal gold deposits in the eastern Pontides orogenic belt. The mineralization is hosted by the subduction-related basaltic andesites and is mainly controlled by E W and NE SW trending fracture zones. The main ore minerals are galena. sphalerite, pyrite, chalcopyrite, tetrahedrite and gold. Homogenization temperatures of fluid inclu- sions are between 130 and 295 C for quartz and between 90 and 133 C for sphalerite. Sulphur isotope values obtained fiom pyrite, galena and sphalerite vary between 1.2‰ and 3‰ indicating that sulphur belongs to magmatic origin and was derived from the Lutetian non-adakitic granitic intrusions in the region. Oxygen isotope values are between 15.0‰, and 16.7‰ and hydrogen isotope values are between -87‰ and 91‰ The sulphur isotope thermometer yielded temperatures in the range of 244-291 C for the ore formation. Our results support the hypothesis that the Arzular mineralization is a low-sulfidation epithermal gold deposit associated with non-adakitic subduction- related granitic magmas that were generated by slab window-related processes in a south-dipping subduction zone during the Lutetian.

Multivariate approaches like machine learning are commonly used in estimation of biochemical traits from spectral and color characteristics of foodstuffs and agricultural *** present study,windfall apples of Golden Delicious,Oregon Spur and Granny Smith cultivars were dried in open-sun,controlled greenhouse,microwave oven(200W),hybrid system(100W+60℃),convective dryer(70℃)and freeze-dryer(−55℃).Spectral,chromatic and biochemical characteristics of dried apples were determined and assessed through machine learning *** phenolic matter,DPPH(2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl),FRAP(Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power)and ascorbic acid content were estimated with the use of five different machine learning algorithms(artificial neural networks,k-nearest neighbor,random forest,gaussian processes and support vector regression).The most successful results were achieved in estimation of total phenolic content(R≥0.85).Additionally,Multilayer Perceptron,Support Vector Regression and Gaussian Processes were identified as the best machine learning algorithms in estimation of biochemical compositions of dried apples.

Aim:To determine the tolerance and acceptance of hepatic venous pressure gradient(HVPG)measurements in patients with liver ***:This prospective international multicenter study included 271 patients with cirrhosis who were scheduled to undergo HVPG measurement between October 2019 and June *** related to the tolerance and acceptance of HVPG measurements were collected using descriptive ***:HVPG measurements were technically successful in all 271 patients,with 141(52.0%)undergoing HVPG measurement *** complication rate was 0.4%.Postoperative pain was significantly lower than preoperative expected pain(p<0.001)and intraoperative pain(p<0.001),and intraoperative pain was also significantly lower than preoperative expected pain(p=0.036).No,mild,moderate,severe,and intolerable discomfort scores were reported by 36.9%,44.6%,11.1%,6.3%,and 0.4%of these patients,respectively,during HVPG measurement and by 54.6%32.5%,11.4%,1.5%,and 0%,respectively,after HVPG *** these patients,39.5%had little understanding and 10%had no understanding of the value of HVPG measurement,with 35.1%and 4.1%regarding HVPG measurements as being of little or no help,*** patients reported that they would definitely(15.5%),probably(46.9%),or possibly(29.9%)choose to undergo additional HVPG measurements again,and 62.7%regarded the cost of the procedure as ***:HVPG measurement was safe and well‐tolerated in patients with cirrhosis,but patient education and communication are warranted to improve the acceptance of this procedure.

Measurement of choroidal thickness and macular thickness during and after pregnancy

AIM: To investigate the effect of pregnancy on subfoveal choroidal thickness(SFCT) and macular thickness in both pregnant and not pregnant healthy ***: Twenty-nine healthy pregnant women in their third trimester and 36 age-matched healthy women were enrolled in a prospective, cross-sectional *** and parafoveal thickness in the four quadrants and SFCT were measured by optical coherence tomography(OCT) in the healthy pregnant women(*** group) and healthy women(i.e. control group).OCT measurements were again measured 3mo after delivery in the study ***: Mean SFCT measurements in the control group, pregnant women of the study group, and after delivery of the study group were 320.86 ±59.18 μm,387.97 ±59.91 μm, and 332.40 ±26.03 μm, *** was a statistically significant difference in the mean SFCT values between pregnant women of the study group and the control group(P =0.000). Foveal and parafoveal thickness values were not statistically significant in either the study or control ***: SFCT increases during pregnancy and returns to normal range in the three months after delivery. Macular thickness does not show any change during pregnancy.

AIM: To evaluate QT dispersion(QTD) in patients with central serous chorioretinopathy(CSC).METHODS: This clinical, comperative, case-control study included 30 patients with CSC at acute phase(Group 1) and 30 age- and sex-matched healthy subjects(Group 2, the control group). From all subjects, a 12-lead surface electrocardiography was obtained. The heart rate(HR), QT maximum(QT max), QT minimum(QT min), QT corrected(QT c), QTD and T mean were manually measured and analyzed. Student’s t-test and Pearson’s method of correlation were used for statistical analysis.· RESULTS: The patient and control groups were matched for age, smoking status(rate and duration) and gender. There were no significant differences with regard to these among the groups(P >0.05). The participants included 19 men(63.3%) and 11 women(36.7%) in Group1, 20 men(66.7%) and 10 women(33.3%) in Group *** max, QTD and QT c were significantly higher than those of healthy controls(P 0.05 for HR). No significant correlation was found between duration of the disorder and QTD values(r =0.13, P >0.05).CONCLUSION: These findings suggest that CSC may be associated with an increase in QTD and that the patients might be at risk for ventricular arrhythmia.
