Novel concepts in radiation-induced cardiovascular disease

Radiation-induced cardiovascular disease(RICVD) is the most common nonmalignant cause of morbidity and mortality among cancer survivors who have undergone mediastinal radiation therapy(RT).Cardiovascular complications include effusive or constrictive pericarditis,cardiomyopathy,valvular heart disease,and coronary/vascular *** are pathophysiologically distinct disease entities whose prevalence varies depending on the timing and extent of radiation exposure to the heart and great *** refinements in RT dosimetry and shielding will inevitably limit future cases of RICVD,the increasing number of long-term cancer survivors,including those treated with older higher-dose RT regimens,will ensure a steady flow of afflicted patients for the foreseeable ***,there is a pressing need for enhanced understanding of the disease mechanisms,and improved detection methods and treatment *** characterized mechanisms responsible for the establishment of chronic fibrosis,such as oxidative stress,inflammation and epigenetic modifications,are discussed and linked to potential treatments currently under *** imaging modalities may serve as powerful screening tools in RICVD,and recent research and expert opinion advocating their use is *** arguing for the aggressive use of percutaneous interventions,such as transcutaneous valve replacement and drug-eluting stents,are examined and considered in the context of prior therapeutic *** and its treatment options are the subject of a rich and dynamic body of research,and patients who are at risk or suffering from this disease will benefit from the care of physicians with specialty expertise in the emerging field of cardiooncology.

Methane(CH_(4) )and dimethylsulphoniopropionate(DMSP)are major carbon and sulfur sources for bacterioplankton in the *** investigated the characteristics of CH_(4) and DMSP in the southern Yap Trench from sea surface to hadal zone in June *** found that concentrations of CH_(4) varied from 1.5 to 4.5 nmol/l with saturation between 94% and 204% in the euphotic *** of dissolved DMSP(DMSPd)ranged from 0.5 to 3.7 nmol/l with higher values in surface water and decreased with *** of particulate DMSP(DMSPp)varied from 0 to 13.6 nmol/*** of total DMSP(DMSPt)ranged 2.0-15.2 nmol/*** concentrations decreased slightly and reached consistent levels in 200-3000-m depth due probably to heterotrophic bacterial production in marine aphotic and high-pressure *** exception occurred around 4000-m depth where their concentrations increased considerably and then decreased in deeper *** previously unrecognized phenomenon sheds light on the elevated concentrations of DMSP in the abyssal layer that might be affected by the lower Circumpolar Deep Water(lCPW).Concentrations of CH_(4) in seawater of the Benthic Boundary layer of the southern Yap Trench were slightly higher than those in the water column at approximate depth,and concentrations of DMSP in seawater of the Benthic Boundary layer of the southern Yap Trench were not much higher than those in the water column at the approximate depth,indicating that sediment was a weak source of CH_(4) but was not a source of DMSP for seawater in the study *** study presented clear correlations between CH_(4) and DMSP from sea surface to sea bottom,proving that DMSP might be a potential substrate for CH_(4) not only in oxic surface seawater but also in deep water.

leveraging the high resolution,sensitivity,and wide frequency coverage of the Atacama large Millimeter/submillimeter Array(AlMA),the QUARKS survey,standing for“Querying Underlying mechanisms of massive star formation with AlMA-Resolved gas Kinematics and Structures”,is observing 139 massive starforming clumps at AlMA Band 6(λ~1.3 mm).This paper introduces the Atacama Compact Array(ACA)7 m data of the QUARKS survey,describing the ACA observations and data *** multiwavelength data,we provide the first edition of QUARKS atlas,offering insights into the multiscale and multiphase interstellar medium in high-mass star *** ACA 1.3 mm catalog includes 207 continuum sources that are called ACA *** gas kinetic temperatures are estimated using three formaldehyde transitions with a non-lTE radiation transfer model,and the mass and density are derived from a dust emission *** ACA sources are massive(16–84 percentile values of 6–160 M_(⊙)),gravity-dominated(M∝R^(1.1))fragments within massive clumps,with supersonic turbulence(M>1)and embedded star-forming *** find a linear correlation between the masses of the fragments and the massive clumps,with a ratio of 6%between the *** considering fragments as representative of dense gas,the ratio indicates a dense gas fraction(DGF)of 6%,although with a wide scatter ranging from 1%to 10%.If we consider the QUARKS massive clumps to be what is observed at various scales,then the size-independent DGF indicates a self-similar fragmentation or collapsing mode in protocluster *** the ACA data over four orders of magnitude of luminosity-to-mass ratio(l/M),we find that the DGF increases significantly with l/M,which indicates clump evolutionary *** observed a limited fragmentation at the subclump scale,which can be explained by a dynamic global collapse process.

With the development of the internet of medical things(IoMT),the privacy protection problem has become more and more *** this paper,we propose a privacy protection scheme for medical images based on DenseNet and coverless *** a given group of medical images of one patient,DenseNet is used to regroup the images based on feature similarity *** the mapping indexes can be constructed based on lBP feature and hash *** mapping the privacy information with the hash sequences,the corresponding mapped indexes of secret information will be packed together with the medical images group and released to the authorized *** user can extract the privacy information successfully with a similar method of feature analysis and index *** simulation results show good performance of *** the hiding success rate also shows good feasibility and practicability for *** the medical images are kept original without embedding and modification,the performance of crack resistance is outstanding and can keep better quality for diagnosis compared with traditional schemes with data embedding.

An Adaptive lasso Grey Model for Regional FDI Statistics Prediction

To overcome the deficiency of traditional mathematical statistics methods,an adaptive lasso grey model algorithm for regional FDI(foreign direct investment)prediction is proposed in this paper,and its validity is ***,the characteristics of the FDI data in six provinces of Central China are generalized,and the mixture model’s constituent variables of the lasso grey problem as well as the grey model are ***,based on the influencing factors of regional FDI statistics(mean values of regional FDI and median values of regional FDI),an adaptive lasso grey model algorithm for regional FDI was ***,an application test in Central China is taken as a case study to illustrate the feasibility of the adaptive lasso grey model algorithm in regional FDI *** also select RMSE(root mean square error)and MAE(mean absolute error)to demonstrate the convergence and the validity of the ***,we train this proposedal gorithm according to the regional FDI statistical data in six provinces in Central China from 2006 to *** then use it to predict the regional FDI statistical data from 2019 to 2023 and show its changing *** extended work for the adaptive lasso grey model algorithm and its procedure to other regional economic fields is also discussed.

Improving the Reliability of a Domestic Refrigerator Compressor Subjected to Repetitive loading

As a reliability quantitative specification, parametric accelerated life testing was used to assess the reliability of a newly designed compressor of a commercial refrigerator subjected to repetitive stresses. A generalized life-stress failure model and new sample size equation with a new load concept were derived starting with the basic refrigeration cycle. The sample size equation with the acceleration factor also enabled the parametric accelerated life testing to quickly evaluate the expected lifetime. The design of this testing should help an engineer uncover the design parameters affecting reliability during the design process of the compressor system. Consequently, it should help companies improve product reliability and avoid recalls due to the product failures in the field. A newly designed compressor in a commercial refrigerator was used as a test case.

During the COVID-19 pandemic,the treatment of aortic dissection has faced additional *** necessary medical resources are in serious shortage,and the preoperative waiting time has been significantly prolonged due to the requirement to test for COVID-19 *** this work,we focus on the risk prediction of aortic dissection surgery under the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic.A general scheme of medical data processing is proposed,which includes five modules,namely problem definition,data preprocessing,data mining,result analysis,and knowledge *** on effective data preprocessing,feature analysis and boosting trees,our proposed fusion decision model can obtain 100%accuracy for early postoperative mortality prediction,which outperforms machine learning methods based on a single model such as lightGBM,XGBoost,and *** results reveal the critical factors related to the postoperative mortality of aortic dissection,which can provide a theoretical basis for the formulation of clinical operation plans and help to effectively avoid risks in advance.

Crash Modification Factors for Dynamic Speed Feedback Signs on Rural Curves

A large number of crashes occur on curves even though they account for only a small percentage of a system’s mileage. Excessive speed has been identified as a primary factor in both lane departure and curve-related crashes. A number of countermeasures have been proposed to reduce driver speeds on curves, which ideally result in successful curve negotiation and fewer crashes. Dynamic speed feedback sign (DSFS) systems are traffic control devices that have been used to reduce vehicle speeds successfully and, subsequently, crashes in applications such as traffic calming on urban roads. DSFS systems show promise, but they have not been fully evaluated for rural curves. To better understand the effectiveness of DSFS systems in reducing crashes on curves, a national field evaluation of DSFS systems on curves on rural two lane roadways was conducted. Two different DSFS systems were selected and placed at 22 sites in seven states. Control sites were also identified. A full Bayes modeling methodology was utilized to develop crash modification factors (CMFs) for several scenarios including total crashes for both directions, total crashes in the direction of the sign, total single-vehicle crashes, and single-vehicle crashes in the direction of the sign. Using quarterly crash frequency as the response variable, crash modification factors were developed and results showed that crashes were 5% to 7% lower after installation of the signs depending on the model.

Socioeconomic Variables Effecting Female Sexual Function in an Urban, Community Setting

Introduction: Female sexual dysfunction is a common problem affecting 12% - 63% of the population, and its relationship with demographic factors, depression, and urinary incontinence needs to be more clearly identified. Aims: To determine demographic and clinical conditions associated with female sexual dysfunction in an urban population of women seeking routine gynecologic care. Methods: A cross-sectional, IRB approved study with a convenience sample was performed of 238 sexually-active, non-pregnant women reporting to two urban gynecology clinics: a private practice (n = 168) and a publicly funded ambulatory clinic (n = 70). Main Outcome Measures: The participants completed informed consent and a demographic questionnaire, plus validated questionnaires that measured sexual function with the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI), depression with the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D), and urinary incontinence with the Questionnaire for Urinary Incontinence Diagnosis (QUID). Results: The mean FSFI score for those with public insurance and private insurance was 29.5 ± 4.2 and 27.8 ± 5.1 (OR 0.746, p = 0.0005, 95% CI 0.633, 0.881) respectively. In comparing “private” and “public” patient groups, age, weight, race, education, employment, exercise, household income, smoking, alcohol frequency,?and sex frequency were all significantly different (p ltivariate logistic regression analysis?found that female sexual dysfunction correlated with less education (OR 1.379, p = 0.0346, 95% CI 1.024, 1.858), and worsening depression identified by CES-D score (OR 1.088, p lusions: Female sexual dysfunction was associated with decreased household income, urinary incontinence, less education, and depression.
