＜正＞This lecture will describe the recent development of nanobiotechnologies based on the nanofabrication, molecular nanotechnoiogy,and nanomaterials for bioanalysis and biomedical *** technologies allow us to develop novel methods to analyze several biomolecules,including DNA,RNA,protein,peptide, polysaccharide,and *** of nano-pillar,which is 200 nm wide and 4000 nm tall,is successfully applicable to fast separation of DNA within 10-25 ***-ball,fabricated by molecular nanotechnology,of which diameter is 50 nm,is developed and successfully applied for fast separation of DNA fragments from 100 bp to 15 *** cellulose,which is 50 nm diameter biofiber,is found to be useful high sensitive detection of biomolecule based on the optical confined effect as well as fast analysis of *** nano-biodevice is extremely useful for fast separation of protein samples from several kDa to 200 kDa within 15 seconds. Utilizing this technique,complex protein mixture extracted from human T cell line,lymphoblastic Jurkat cells, were separated within 15s with high *** methods we have taken appear suitable for biomedical and clinical applications,including SNPs analysis,mutation analysis,haplotyping,DNA diagnosis,protein expression analysis,immunoassay,protein disease marker detection,point-of-care *** methods are also applicable to molecular imaging of cancer cell and possible photodynamic therapy of cancer.

Superplasticity in an Aluminum Alloy 6061/Al_2O_3p Composite

The superplasticity of an Al203p/6061Al composite, fabricated by powder metallurgy techniques, has been investigated. Instead of any special thermomechanical processing or hot rolling, simple hot extrusion has been employed to obtain a fine grained structure before superplastic testing. Superplastic tensile tests were performed at strain rates ranging from 10-2 to 10-4 s-1 and at temperatures from 833 to 893 K. A maximum elongation of 200% was achieved at a temperature of 853 K and an initial strain rate of 1.67×103 s-1. The highest value obtained for the strain rate sensitivity index (in) was 0.32. Differential scanning calorimeter was used to ascertain the possibility of any partial melting in the vicinity of optimum superplastic temperature. These results suggested that no liquid phase existed where maximum elongation was achieved and deformation took place entirely in the solid state.

Sliding Mode Control Design for a Class of Systems with Mismatched Uncertainties

A new sliding mode controller design method is proposed for a class of system with mis- matched uncertainties such that the dynamic function restricted on the sliding surface is completely insensitive to the uncertainties.A sufficient and necessary condition which the system possessing this sliding mode controller should satisfy is explicitly *** issue of chattering free is also *** is concluded that this class of mismatched term does not bring any chattering problem. Finally,a numerical example illustrates the developed method.

Effects of Cu^(2+) on characteristic of SV currents

Applying the patch-clamp technique to vacuoles from Radish we studied the effects of Cu2+ on Slow Vacuolar (SV) current’s characteristic. Our results show that Cu2+ in bath solution at higher concentration inhibits SV currents and the percentage of inhibition increases with increasing concentration and changes with different voltage. When at lower concentration, Cu2+ significantly promotes the SV currents and the promotion ratio decrease with increasing voltage. At the same time, the time constants of activation become lesser after adding Cu2+. These results show that there may be some Cu2+ binding sites on SV channels and binding to which can change SV current’s characteristic.

Robust maximum-likelihood parameter estimation of stochastic state-space systems based on EM algorithm

This paper addresses the problems of parameter estimation of multivariable stationary stochastic systems on the basis of observed output *** main contribution is to employ the expectation-maximisation(EM)method as a means for computation of the maximum-likelihood(ML)parameter estimation of the *** form of the expectation of the studied system subjected to Gaussian distribution noise is derived and parameter choice that maximizes the expectation is also *** results in an iterative algorithm for parameter estimation and the robust algorithm implementation based on technique of QR-factorization and Cholesky factorization is also ***,algorithmic properties such as non-decreasing likelihood value,necessary and sufficient conditions for the algorithm to arrive at a local stationary parameter,the convergence rate and the factors affecting the convergence rate are *** study shows that the proposed algorithm has attractive properties such as numerical stability,and avoidance of difficult initial conditions.

Liveness Problem of Petri Nets Supervisory Control Theory for Discrete Event Systems

A quite great progress of the supervisory control theory for discrete event systems (DES) has been made in the past nearly twenty years, and now, automata, formal language and Petri nets become the main research tools. This paper focus on the Petri nets based supervisory control theory of DES. Firstly, we review the research results in this field, and claim that there generally exists a problem in Petri nets based supervisory control theory of DES, that is, the deadlock caused by the controller introduced to enforce the given specification occurs in the closed-loop systems, especially the deadlock occurs in the closed-loop system in which the original plant is live. Finally, a possible research direction is presented for the solution of this problem.

P systems based multi-objective optimization algorithm

Based on P systems, this paper proposes a new multi-objective optimization algorithm (PMOA). Similar to P systems, PMOA has a cell-like structure. The structure is dynamic and its membranes merge and divide at different stages. The key rule of a membrane is the communication rule which is derived from P systems. Mutation rules are important for the algorithm, which has different ranges of mutation in different membranes. The cooperation of the two rules contributes to the diversity of the population, the conquest of the muhimodality of objective function and the convergence of algorithm. Moreover, the unique structure divides the whole population into several sub populations, which decreases the computational complexity. Almost a dozen popular algorithms are compared using several test problems. Simulation results illustrate that the PMOA has the best performance. Its solutions are closer to the true Pareto-optimal front

Metal-amyloid-β peptide interactions: a preliminary investigation of molecular mechanisms for Alzheimer’s disease

Although humans have spent exactly 100 years combating Alzheimer’s disease (AD), the molecular mechanisms of AD remain unclear. Owing to the rapid growth of the oldest age groups of the popula-tion and the continuous increase of the incidence of AD, it has become one of the crucial problems to modern sciences. It would be impossible to prevent or reverse AD at the root without elucidating its molecular mechanisms. From the point of view of metal-amyloid-β peptide (Aβ) interactions, we review the molecular mechanisms of AD, mainly including Cu2+ and Zn2+ inducing the aggregation of Aβ, cata-lysing the production of active oxygen species from Aβ, as well as interacting with the ion-channel-like structures of Aβ. Moreover, the development of therapeutic drugs on the basis of metal-Aβ interactions is also briefly introduced. With the increasingly rapid progress of the molecular mechanisms of AD, we are now entering a new dawn that promises the delivery of revolutionary developments for the control of dementias.

Synthesis and Luminescence Properties of Pr^(3+) Doped Ca_xBa_(1-x)TiO_3 (0.3≤x<1) Fine Particles

CaxBa1-xTiO3 （CBT） fine particles doped with red luminescence center of Pr3＋ ions （Pr： CBT） were successfully synthesized by salt assisted spray pyrolysis （SASP） process. Scanning electronic microscope （SEM） and laser scattering analysis demonstrate that salt can be removed from the surface of particles by washing with Milli-Q water and the particles can be further separated by ball-milling to get well-dispersed Pr^3＋ ions doped CBT fine particles. The luminescence properties, such as photoluminescence （PL） and mechanoluminescence （ML）, of as-synthesized Pr： CBT particles were investigated. For Pr： CBT fine particles with different Ca molar ratios, all the samples show one emission at 612 nm, with increasing Ca molar ratio, PL intensity of Pr： CBT fine particles become stronger and stronger. When pressure was loaded on the Pr： CBT pellet, mechanoluminescence（ML） emission was measured. The results show that the ML intensity is proportional to the applied pressure.
