Temporal changes in structure and refractive index distribution of adipose tissue at photo-dynamic/photothermal treatment were studied with OCT in ***-water solutions of indocyanine green(ICG)and brilliant green(BG)were used for fat tissue *** laser diode(808 nm)and LED light source(442 and 597 nm)were used for ir adiation of stained tissue *** data received supporting the hypothesis that photodynamic/photothermal treatment,induces fat cell lipolysis during a certain period of time after light exposure.

Objective: The morphology and functions of the proximal and distal large intestine are not the same. The incidence of colorectal cancer in these regions is also different, as tumors more often appear in the descending colon than in the ascending *** bowel disease and colorectal cancer can increase transepithelial permeability, which is a sign of reduced intestinal barrier function. However, there is not enough evidence to establish a connection between the difference in colorectal cancer incidence in the proximal and distal colon and intestinal permeability or the effects of carcinogenesis on the barrier properties in various areas of the colon. The aim of the study was to assess the permeability of different segments of the large intestine according to a developed mapping methodology in healthy rats and rats with 1,2-dimethylhydrazine(DMH)-induced colon ***: The short circuit current, the transepithelial electrical resistance and the paracellular permeability to fluorescein of large intestine wall of male Wistar rats were examined in the Ussing chambers. The optical density of the solution from the serosa side to assess the concentration of the diffused fluorescein from mucosa to serosa was analyzed by spectrophotometry. The morphometric and histological studies were performed by optical ***: Rats with DMH-induced colon adenocarcinomas showed elevated transepithelial electrical resistance in the areas of neoplasm development. In contrast, there was no change in the electrophysiological properties of tumor adjacent areas, however,the paracellular permeability of these areas to fluorescein was increased compared to the control rats and was characterized by sharply reduced barrier ***: The barrier properties of the colon vary depending on tumor location. During the last decade, transient receptor potential （TRP） channels emerge as key proteins in central mechanisms of the carcinogenesis such as cell proliferation, apoptosis and migration. Initial studies showed that expression profile of some TRP channels, notably TRP melastatin 8 （TRPM8）, TRP vanilloid 6 （TRPv6）,TRP canonical （TRPC6） and TRPv2, is changing during the development and the progression of prostate cancer towards the hormone-refractory stages. The link between the change in expression levels and the functional role of these channels in prostate cancer is step by step being elucidated. These recent advances are here described and discussed.

Based on the laser speckle contrast imaging(LsCI)and the multiscale entropy(MsE),we study in this work the blood flow dynamics at the levels of cerebral veins and the surrounding network of microcerebral *** discuss how the phenylephrine-related acute peripheral bypertension is refected in the cerebral circulation and show that the observed changes are scale dependent,and they are signifcantly more pronounced in microcerebral vessels,while the macrocerebral dynamics does not demonstrate authentic inter-group *** also consider the permeability of blood-brain barrier(BBB)and study its opening caused by sound *** show that alterations associated with the BBB opening can be revealed by the analysis of blood flow at the level of macrocerebral vessels.

Background The genomes of worldwide poultry breeds divergently selected for performance and other phenotypic traits may also be affected by,and formed due to,past and current admixture *** to diverse environments,including acclimation to harsh climatic conditions,has also left selection footprints in breed *** Using the Chicken 50K_CobbCons sNP chip,we genotyped four divergently selected breeds:two aboriginal,cold tolerant Ushanka and Orloff Mille Fleur,one egg-type Russian White subjected to artificial selection for cold tolerance,and one meat-type White *** of selective sweeps were determined in the studied breeds using three methods:(1)assessment of runs of homozygosity islands,(2)F_(sT) based population differential analysis,and(3)haplotype differentiation *** regions of true selection signatures were identified by two or more methods or in two or more *** these regions,we detected 540 prioritized candidate genes supplemented them with those that occurred in one breed using one statistic and were suggested in other *** them,sOX5,ME3,ZNF536,WWP1,RIPK2,OsGIN2,DECR1,TPO,PPARGC1A,BDNF,MsTN,and beta-keratin genes can be especially mentioned as candidates for cold *** factors may be involved in regulating some of these important genes(e.g.,TPO and BDNF).Conclusion Based on a genome-wide scan,our findings can help dissect the genetic architecture underlying various phenotypic traits in chicken *** include genes representing the sine qua non for adaptation to harsh *** tolerance in acclimated chicken breeds may be developed following one of few specific gene expression mechanisms or more than one overlapping response known in cold-exposed individuals,and this warrants further investigation.

Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer and is highly fatal. During the last several years, research has been primarily based on the study of expression profiles using microarray technology. But now, investigators are putting into practice proteomic analyses of cancer tissues and cells to identify new diagnostic or therapeutic biomarkers for this cancer. Because the proteome reflects the state of a cell, tissue or organism more accurately, much is expected from proteomics to yield better tumor markers for disease diagnosis and therapy monitoring. This review summarizes the most relevant applications of proteomics the biomarker discovery for colorectal cancer.

Problems associated with carbon support corrosion under operating fuel cell conditions require the identification of alternative supports for platinum-based nanosized *** supported on manganese vanadate(Pt/Mnv_(2)O_(6))was prepared by microwave irradiation method and characterized using X-ray diffraction,Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive spectroscopy,and transmission electron *** borohydride oxidation reaction(BOR)on Pt/Mnv_(2)O_(6) was studied in highly alkaline media using voltammetry,chronoamperometry,and electrochemical impedance *** electrocatalytic activity of Pt/Mnv_(2)O_(6) was also compared with that of commercial Pt/C(46 wt%Pt)*** apparent activation energy of BOR at Pt/Mnv_(2)O_(6) was estimated to be 32 k J mol^(-1) and the order of reaction to be 0.51,indicating that borohydride hydrolysis proceeds in parallel with its ***-term stability of Pt/Mnv_(2)O_(6) under BOR typical conditions was observed.A laboratory-scale direct borohydride fuel cell assembled with a Pt/Mnv_(2)O_(6) anode reached a specific power of 274 W g^(-1).Experimental results on Pt/Mnv_(2)O_(6) were complemented by DFT calculations,which indicated good adherence of Pt to Mnv_(2)O_(6),beneficial for electrocatalyst stability.

Phylogeny of Brucella abortus strains isolated in the Russian Federation

Objective: To study Brucella(B.) abortus strains isolated in the Russian Federation, in order to identify their detailed position in the phylogenetic structure of the species global population as well as to determine genetic relationships for isolates from different geographical ***: Based on Bayesian method, the whole genome singlenucleotide polymorphism(sNP) analysis of 258 B. abortus strains from different geographical areas of the world including 20 B. abortus strains isolated in Russia was carried out. Results: The core genome sNP analysis of the B. abortus isolates allowed describing the main genetic lineages. The Russian strains entered two separate clades, including the basal branch and the C1 branch that is widely spread in Eurasia. The data on the isolation time was used for the dating of phylogenetic tree, and also the estimated time frame for the B. abortus genotype diversification was determined. There were sets of specific sNPs identified, which defined each of the genotypes and ***: A significant genetic diversity of the brucellosis pathogen strains from Russia has been proven. The sets of unique specific sNPs described in our study may become one of the elements within a bio-informational analysis algorithm to be used for epidemiological study of brucellosis outbreaks, including those caused by new(atypical) genetic variants of B. abortus.
