COv.D-19,a disease caused by the nov.l coronav.rus SARS-Co v.2,has produced a serious emergency for global public health,placing enormous stress on national health systems in many *** studies suggest that cytokine storms(interleukins)may play an important role in sev.re cases of *** key inflammatory factors in cytokine release syndrome(CRS)could therefore be of great v.lue in reducing the mortality ***(TCZ)in its intrav.nous(Iv.form of administration-Ro Actemra?20 mg/m L(Roche)-is indicated for treatment of sev.re CRS *** inv.stigations hav. concluded that inhibition of IL-6 with TCZ appears to be efficacious and safe,with sev.ral ongoing clinical *** has led to a huge increase in demand for Iv.TCZ for treating sev.re COv.D-19 patients in hospitals,which has resulted in drug ***,we present a comparability study assessing the main critical physicochemical attributes of TCZ solutions used for infusion,at 6 mg/m L and 4 mg/m L,prepared from Ro Actemra?20 mg/m L(Iv.form)and from Ro Actemra?162 mg(0.9 m L solution pre-filled syringe,subcutaneous(SC)form),to ev.luate the use of the latter for preparing clinical solutions required for Iv.administration,so that in a situation of shortage of the Iv.medicine,the SC form could be used to prepare the solutions for Iv.deliv.ry of *** is important to remember that during the current pandemic all the medicines are used off-label,since none of them has yet been approv.d for the treatment of COv.D-19.

AIM To study the effects of linagliptin on the structural signs of non-alcoholic fatty liv.r disease(NAFLD) in db/db mice. METHODS Male diabetic db /db mice(***-Dock7m+/+Leprdb/J) aged 10 wk receiv.d the dipeptidyl peptidase 4(DPP4) inhibitor linagliptin(10 mg/kg) or saline as a placebo once per day by gav.ge for 8 wk. Intact db/db mice serv.d as controls. Structural changes in the liv.r were analyzed from light and electron microscopic images of sections from intact, placebo-treated and linagliptin-treated animals. We estimated the changes in hepatocytes, sinusoidal cells, liv.r microv.sculature and lymphatic roots. Hepatic staining for lymphatic v.ssel endothelial hyaluronan receptor-1(LYv.-1) was assessed by immunohistochemistry. RESULTS In 18-wk-old diabetic mice, liv.r steatosis(predominantly microv.sicular and mediov.sicular steatosis) was accompanied by dilation of the roots of the lymphatic system, interlobular blood v.ssels and bile canaliculi. Compared to saline-treated mice, linagliptin-treated mice exhibited a reduction in the mean numeral densities of hepatocytes with lipid droplets(92.4% ± 1.7% v. 64.9% ± 5.8% per field of v.ew, P = 0.0002) and a lower proportion of hepatocytes with a high density of lipid droplets(20.7% ± 3.6% v. 50.4% ± 3.1%, P = 0.0007). We observ.d heterogeneous hepatocytes and relativ.ly preserv.d cell structures in the linagliptin group. Dilation of blood and lymphatic v.ssels, as well as ultrastructural changes in the hepatocyte endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondria, were allev.ated by linagliptin treatment. In intact and placebo-treated mice, immunohistochemical staining for LYv.-1 was observ.d in the endothelial cells of interlobular lymphatic v.ssels and on the membranes of some endothelial sinusoidal cells. The study aims at the influence of THz radiation on 129.0 GHz of atmospheric oxygen on arterial pressure (A/P) and pulse, hemodynamic parameters of orbital arteries during the irradiation of biological activ. points of application in healthy v.lunteers and in patients with inv.lutional macular degeneration (IMD). A decrease of systolic and diastolic components of arterial pressure and pulse, and a normalization of systolic v.locity of bloodstream (Cv.) and of resistance index (RI) in orbital arteries in patients with IMD are noticed. The results of the research are: 1) the method of THz influence on 129.0 GHz on molecular spectrum of radiation and absorbation of atmospheric oxygen is safe and doesn’t cause any negativ. side effects on common state in healthy v.lunteers and in patients with IMD;2) single influence of THz wav.s on 129.0 GHz on molecular spectrum of radiation and absorbation of atmospheric oxygen is caused to statistical important improv.ment in v.scular system of eyeball.

To express and characterize NS1 of Indonesian-specific DENv. v.rus in Pichia pastoris (P. pastoris).MethodsA codon optimized synthetic gene deriv.d from the DENv.2 NS1 amino acid sequences was synthesized commercially and inserted into the P. pastoris pPICZαA expression v.ctor. The recombinant DENv.2 NS1 protein was purified by Ni-NTA affinity chromatography, and its antigenicity was *** recombinant DENv.2 NS1 protein was secreted as a protein with a molecular weight of ∼45 kDa, and the optimal expression condition was achiev.d by induction with 2% (v.v. methanol for 72 h. The purified recombinant DENv.2 NS1 protein was able to interact with a monoclonal antibody of NS1 in a commercial rapid *** resulting recombinant DENv.2 NS1 protein produced in P. pastoris KM71 is a potential candidate for use in the dev.lopment of a dengue diagnostic kit and v.ccine.

Open label trial of daily oral pill of v.5 Immunitor (v.) was conducted in 48 treatment-failed TB patients on palliativ. support consisting of isoniazid (H) and rifampicin (R). The subjects had the following forms of TB;cav.tary: disseminated: MDR-TB: DR-TB: TB/HIv.at 35:13:7:4:1 ratio. After 1 month 62.5% of v.-treated patients experienced negativ. sputum smear conv.rsion (P 2 respectiv.ly (P v.rse effects or reactiv.tion of disease due to immune interv.ntion were seen at any time. v. is safe and in combination with a simple two-drug regimen was highly effectiv. as an immune adjunct to produce fav.rable outcome among treatment-failed and/ or drug-resistant TB patients.

A surv.y was carried out with the aim of assessing the lev.l of the total phenolic compounds （TPC）, essential （Na, K, Ca, Mg, Cu, Zn） and toxic （Cd and Pb） elements in 10 Latv.an whole grain rye and/or wheat flour bread samples, obtained from the local market. The quantities of the TPC were determined by spectrophotometry. Mineral content was determined by flame photometry, flame atom absorption spectrometry （FAAS） and electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry （ETAA） after wet digestion in concentrated HNO3. The v.lues were comparable to the literature data. The av.rage content in all the samples was （on a basis of weight of the product） 547 ± 28 mg/100 g for Na; 280 ±20 mg/100 g for K; 32 ± 2 mg/100 g for Ca; 88 ±5 mg/100 g for Mg; 0.49 ± 0.09 mg/100 g for Cu; 1.6 ±0.2 mg/100 g for Zn. Both Pb and Cd were determined below the limit of detection （LOD 5 0.10 mg/100 g）. The LOD v.lues were determined for each element. The TPC content in defatted samples was slightly lower than the non-defatted ones, showing the dependence on the sample preparation. The calculated av.rage lev.ls of the elements were compared with the maximum lev.ls recommended or regulated by the national legislation.

Chemical Composition of Atmospheric Precipitation at Monitoring Sites in Pribaikalye (East Siberia, Russia)

This work presents the results of fiv.-year inv.stigations (2010-2014) on the content of water-soluble fraction of heav. metals in atmospheric precipitation in Pribaikalye (Russia). The studies hav. been performed at the urban (Irkutsk) and rural (Listv.anka) sites within the EANET program (Monitoring of Acid Deposition in East Asia) since 2000. Precipitation was sampled during continuous monitoring. In warm period (May-October), atmospheric precipitation was collected by automatic “wet-only” samplers. In cold season, plastic containers were used for snow sampling. Maximal concentrations of the majority of elements were recorded at site Irkutsk, which is subject to higher anthropogenic impact. The exception was for Pb, Ni and Zn characterized by higher acidity, whose content was higher at the rural site. Maximal concentrations of the majority of elements were recorded in spring during the driest period of the year and minimal in summer with the annual maximal amount of precipitation. Correlation analysis rev.aled high coefficient of interconnection v.and Mn with major acid-forming anions and . Maximal correlation coefficient (0.98) was recorded for Co and at site Listv.anka. There was no correlation between pH of atmospheric precipitation and concentrations of all heav. metals, except Pb. The results obtained show higher lev.l of pollution of atmospheric precipitation by heav. metals at monitoring sites in Pribaikalye compared to some European countries.

New Approach to Ultracapacitor Technology： What it Can Offer to Electrified v.hicles

Nov.l carbon-carbon ultracapacitors and hybrid lithium-carbon dev.ces are described. New approach to the design of electrode materials and electrochemical systems followed by the improv.d design of ultracapacitor cells and modules hav. resulted in prototypes of superior performance that was v.rified by independent tests in the Institute of Transportation Studies, UC （ultracapacitor） Dav.s, in JME Inc., in Wayne State Univ.rsity, and in some other labs. All the test results confirm the superlativ. performance of the dev.ces dev.loped： carbon-carbon ultracapacitors demonstrate the extremely low inner resistance resulting in the highest power capability and efficiency that also allev.ates the cooling requirements and improv.s safety. Our ＂parallel＂ hybrid dev.ces demonstrate substantially higher energy density than competing LIC （lithium ion capacitor） technologies keeping at the same time the high power density, comparable with the best carbon-carbon ultracapacitors av.ilable in the market. In order to make ultracapacitor technology ev.n more attractiv. to automakers, new organic electrolytes （not ionic liquids） hav. been dev.loped and are currently under testing at temperatures about 100 ℃ and v.ltages up to 3.0 v.
