Does dutasteride reduce the bleeding in transurethral resection of the prostate in patients on antiplatelet drugs?

Corrosion and Scaling Threat in Upstream Oil Operation

Corrosiveness or scaling is an inherent threat to oil operations. The primary cause for this threat is the presence of water having complex geochemical matrix. Unanticipated water production, particularly if it contains unwanted impurities, can significantly impact hydrocarbon production. The current paper discusses the degree of threat posed to oil operation facilities based on the water characteristics. methodology involved the collection and analysis of water samples from major sources in oil industry such as groundwater, wellheads and seawater. The parameters tested include geochemical, microbiological and pollutants. The lab data was used to develop scaling and corrosion prediction indices such as Langelier Saturation Index (LSI), Ryznar Stability Index (RSI) and Puckorius Scaling Index (PSI). The study indicated varying water chemistry for different sources. mixing of those waters may lead to ionic saturation and scaling in different facilities. Presence of the SRB and GAB in some water sources also posed threat to water system by forming fouling and corrosion. Seawater used for offshore oilfields water injection to maintain reservoir pressure and improve oil recovery showed scaling tendency, whereas under different reservoir pressure, it can cause corrosion. Some of the samples also had corrosion residuals such as iron, which indicated active corrosion. Current study showed higher alkalinity with high sulfate for one groundwater sample with presence of active corrosion residuals such as dissolved iron and manganese. The study showed positive value for LSI which indicated supersaturation of the water samples with respect to calcium carbonate (CaCO3) and scale forming. Similarly, for RSI and PSI, the value was below six which confirmed the scaling potential for all the samples. 目的制备抗白细胞介素1β(IL-1β)纳米抗体, 并观察其对缺氧小鼠心肌细胞凋亡的影响。方法利用DNA重组技术, 使用pET-16b和pHEN1表达载体构建抗IL-1β纳米抗体的重组质粒(pET-16b-4G6m-VHH、pET-16b-5BVP-VHH、pET-16b-5mVZ-VHH和pHEN1-4G6m-VHH、pHEN1-5BVP-VHH、pHEN1-5mVZ-VHH, 其中VHH为重链单域抗体, 4G6m-VHH、5BVP-VHH、5mVZ-VHH分别为3种抗IL-1β的纳米抗体), 将构建成功的质粒分别转入大肠杆菌Rosetta2(DE3)表达菌中进行诱导表达及镍柱纯化, 用十二烷基硫酸钠-聚丙烯酰胺凝胶电泳(SDS-PAGE)和Western印迹对表达产物及纯化产物进行鉴定, 并通过酶联免疫吸附试验(ELISA)测定其亲和力。将纯化所得亲和力最高的抗IL-1β纳米抗体(pHEN1-5mVZ-VHH)应用于小鼠HL-1心肌细胞缺氧模型(分为正常对照组、缺氧模型组、空白质粒组及12.5、25.0、50.0 μg/ml pHEN1-5mVZ-VHH处理组), 并检测细胞存活率及凋亡率。结果 SDS-PAGE和Western印迹结果显示, 成功得到相对分子质量约15 000的抗IL-1β纳米抗体;ELISA结果显示, 与pET-16b载体组相比, pHEN1载体组所表达的纳米抗体与IL-1β抗原的亲和力更高(4G6m-VHH组:3.20±0.03比1.20±0.03, PmVZ-VHH组:3.38±0.05比1.62±0.04, Pml及50.0 μg/ml pHEN1-5mVZ-VHH处理组HL-1细胞活性增加[(75.55±2.23)%比(46.90±2.51)%, PmVZ-VHH治疗可减少缺氧小鼠心肌细胞凋亡。

Calculation of Hildebrand Solubility Parameters of Some Polymers Using QSPR methods Based on LS-SVm Technique and Theoretical molecular Descriptors

In this work, some chemometrics methods are applied for the modeling and prediction of the Hildebrand solubility parameter of some polymers. A genetic algorithm （GA） method is designed for the selection of variables to construct two models using the multiple linear regression （mLR） and least square-support vector machine （LS-SVm） methods in order to predict the Hildebrand solubility parameter. The mLR method is used to build a linear relationship between the molecular descriptors and the Hildebrand solubility parameter for these compounds. Then the LS-SVm method is utilized to construct the non-linear quantitative structure-activity relationship （QSAR） models. The results obtained using the LS-SVm method are then compared with those obtained for the mLR method; it was revealed that the LS-SVm model was much better than the mLR one. The root-mean-square errors of the training set and the test set for the LS-SVm model were 0.2912 and 0.2427, and the correlation coefficients were 0.9662 and 0.9518, respectively. This paper provides a new and effective method for predicting the Hildebrand solubility parameter for some polymers, and also reveals that the LS-SVm method can be used as a powerful chemometrics tool for the quantitative structure-property relationship （QSPR） studies.

Effect of the degree of template removal from mesoporous silicate materials on their adsorption of heavy oil from aqueous solution

The key aim of this study is to evaluate the adsorption of heavy oil from aqueous solutions with different oil contents over mesoporous silicate materials having different surfactant template contents. The meso- porous silicate materials have been synthesized from tetraethylorthosilicate as a silica precursor and cetyltri- methylammonium bromide as a template using the sol-gel technique. Four samples were prepared by （1） totally removing the template using the calcination process, （2） partially removing the template via ethanol extraction, （3） partially removing the template via water extraction, and （4） keeping the template as synthesized, respectively. These four samples have been characterized using X-ray diffraction, nitrogen adsorption, thermal gravimetric ana- lysis and Fourier transformed infrared. The effect of the degree of template removal of these mesoporous materials for the oil removal has been investigated. The oil removal is inversely proportional to the surfactant content in the mesoporous material, being highest for the calcined sample but lowest for the as-synthesized sample. The kinetic of oil adsorption over the calcined material has been also studied and the data obtained fit well a second-order model.

In this paper, we are concerned with a fractional differential inequality containing a lower order fractional derivative and a polynomial source term in the right hand side. A non-existence of non-trivial global solutions result is proved in an appropriate space by means of the test-function method. The range of blow up is found to depend only on the lower order derivative. This is in line with the well-known fact for an internally weakly damped wave equation that solutions will converge to solutions of the parabolic part.

Application of a new SPA-SVm coupling method for QSPR study of electrophoretic mobilities of some organic and inorganic compounds

In this work, two chemometrics methods are applied for the modeling and prediction of electrophoretic mobilities of some organic and inorganic compounds. The successive projection algorithm, feature selection （SPA） strategy, is used as the descriptor selection and model development method. Then, the support vector machine （SVm） and multiple linear regression （mLR） model are utilized to construct the non-linear and linear quantitative structure-property relationship models. The results obtained using the SVm model are compared with those obtained using mLR reveal that the SVm model is of much better predictive value than the mLR one. The root-mean-square errors for the training set and the test set for the SVm model were 0.1911 and 0.2569, respectively, while by the mLR model, they were 0.4908 and 0.6494, respectively. The results show that the SVm model drastically enhances the ability of prediction in QSPR studies and is superior to the mLR model.

Refraction characteristics of phononic crystals

Some of the most interesting refraction prop- erties of phononic crystals are revealed by examining the anti-plane shear waves in doubly periodic elastic composites with unit cells containing rectangular and/or elliptical multi- inclusions. The corresponding band structure, group velocity, and energy-flux vector are calculated using a powerful mixed variational method that accurately and efficiently yields all the field quantities over multiple frequency pass-bands. The background matrix and the inclusions can be anisotropic, each having distinct elastic moduli and mass densities. Equifrequency contours and energy-flux vectors are read- ily calculated as functions of the wave-vector components. By superimposing the energy-flux vectors on equifrequency contours in the plane of the wave-vector components, and supplementing this with a three-dimensional graph of the corresponding frequency surface, a wealth of information is extracted essentially at a glance. This way it is shown that a composite with even a simple square unit cell con- taining a central circular inclusion can display negative or positive energy and phase velocity refractions, or simply performs a harmonic vibration （standing wave）, depending on the frequency and the wave-vector. moreover, that the same composite when interfaced with a suitable homoge- neous solid can display：（1） negative refraction with negative phase velocity refraction; （2） negative refraction with pos- itive phase velocity refraction; （3） positive refraction with negative phase velocity refraction; （4） positive refraction with positive phase velocity refraction; or even （5） completereflection with no energy transmission, depending on the fre- quency, and direction and the wavelength of the plane-wave that is incident from the homogeneous solid to the interface. Inter-population variabilities in seed mass and germination of Panicum turgidum and Pennisetum divisum in the desert of Kuwait

Understanding variability in seed germination among populations is essential for planning an effective germplasm collection for restoration and conservation *** knowledge of germination and dormancy patterns among populations of desert grasses is crucial for determining the potential of the species and populations to be used for restoration and conservation as well as forage *** in seed germination of Panicum turgidum Forssk and Pennisetum divisum(Gmel.)*** the desert of Kuwait was evaluated in different populations in may *** of seed germination(25 seeds and 4 replicates)was conducted for each population at night/day temperatures of 15℃/20℃and 20℃/30℃under the following light condition:continuous darkness or 12 h/12 h light/*** showed that seed masses of both species strongly varied according to their seed provenances,and both species produced heavier seeds in population with a higher soil electrical *** germination percentage considerably varied between two species,and the variation in *** was greater(17%–49%)than that of ***(72%–93%).Germination percentage in *** was greater at high temperature(20℃/30℃)than at low temperature(15℃/20℃).However,temperature regimes had no effect on germination percentage of *** *** germination time of both species exhibited significant inter-population *** result is especially relevant to assure the selection of the best population of each species and the regeneration success of the *** this,inter-population variability also provides valuable information for enhancing our understanding of the mechanisms that regulate seed germination and how they might be related to seed provenance.
