Octavinyl polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) was polymerized on the surface of Fe3O4 nanoparticles (NPs) and then the NPs were functionalized with carboxylic acid groups using thiol-ene click reactions with thioglycolic *** as-prepared Fe3O4@POSS-COOH magnetic hybrid NPs had mesoporous structures with an average particle diameter of 15 nm and a relatively high specific surface area of 447 m^2· g^-*** results showed that 4 mg of Fe3O4@POSS-COOH NPs efficiently adsorbed and removed methylene blue from water at 5 *** is due to the presence of both carboxylic acid and pendant vinyl groups on the Fe3O4@POSS-COOH *** NPs could be easily withdrawn from water within a few seconds under moderate magnetic field and showed high stability in acid and alkaline aqueous mediums.

Dy2O3 is a rare earth oxide having a number of advanced applications in various fields including protective or antireflective coatings,main objective of this novel research work is to check the effect of Cr and Cu addition on different properties of Dy2O3 and achievement of antireflective thin films with enhanced abso *** films of these materials we re deposited using DC magnetron with reactive *** studies reveals the crystalline nature of thin films having Dy2O3(222)reflection in all samples with Cr2O3(116)and CuO(111)reflections in Cr and Cu containing *** emission scanning electron microscopy demonstrates the homogeneous deposition of thin films with uniform shape,size and distribution of *** index,extinction coefficient and absorption coefficient significantly increase while optical reflectance decreases with Cr and Cu mediation corroborating an improved antireflective *** imaginary part of dielectric constant is found to increase slightly with low tangent loss for Cr containing composition co nsidered favorable for energy storage applications.

Objective: To test the coalescence effect of two chemotherapy drugs at low effective dose(cisplatin and taxotere) combined with pomegranate juice on A549 cancer cells. methods: Infrared spectroscopy method is a qualitative test that was performed to ensure the existence of the phytochemicals providing the antioxidant activity through the presence of the hydroxyl group(-OH). The viability of A549 cell line and normal mCs was tested using the neutral red uptake, Clonogenic survival, XTT and Cell migration assays. Results: Our results showed that this combination firstly led to a greater decrease in the viability of cells comparing to those treated with chemotherapy drugs alone, and secondly led to a significant reduction in cell migration. Conclusions: These data suggest a synergistic effect between the pomegranate and cisplatin which makes probably this combination a powerful option for treating lung adenocarcinoma and in parallel minimizing the systemic side effects.

The primary focus of the present study is to investigate the impact of anti-vortex holes design on the film-cooling performance in a film-cooled rotor blade model using the large eddy simulation method(LES).One row of the film holes was positioned on the pressure surface of the rotor *** row had three cylindrical holes(the main hole in the present study)with a diameter(D)of 4 mm and a tangential injection angle of 28 *** main hole supplemented with the addition of two symmetrical side holes(anti-vortex holes),which branch out from the same main *** positions for the anti-vortex side holes were considered;namely:upstream to the outlet of the main hole;in line with the main hole;and downstream of the main *** Reynolds number was fixed at Re Z 1.92105 and the speed of the rotor blade was taken to be 1800 *** blowing ratio varied from 1.0 to 5.0 and the density ratio of coolant to mainstream was *** to the base hole,the film cooling performance of the all anti-vortex cases showed obvious improvement at all blowing *** middle stream side holes and downstream side holes each demonstrated good film cooling performance at all blowing ratios,while the upstream side holes perform well only at a lower blowing *** presence of side holes can restrain the CRVP(counter rotating vortex pairs)intensity of the main hole and reduce the coolant lift-off,improving the film coverage and film cooling *** downstream side holes can perform better in reducing the CRVP intensity.

Objectives:Colour is amongst the parameter which is used for process control during *** and methods:In this study,the effects of hot air roasting temperature(120,130,145,160,and 170°C)and hot air velocity(0.6,1.3,and 2 m/s)on colour change kinetics of pistachio nuts were investigated by employing image analysis and simultaneously chlorophylls and xanthophylls(lutein andβ-carotenoid)concentration were determined by spectrophotometric measurement ***:We found that roasting temperature and hot air velocity had significant effect on colour *** is a correlation between a-and b-value with chlorophylls and xanthophylls concentration,*** roasting temperature was found to be the main factor affecting colour *** variations in the pigments concentration and colour parameters of pistachio nuts were adequately simulated by quadratic and cubic *** changes in L-,b-values,and xanthophylls degradation were well-fitted to the first-order kinetic model while a-value and chlorophylls degradation followed the zero-order *** activation energy was determined at 113.9,116.7,and 117.2 kJ/mol with R2≥99.9 and 191,195,and 163.2 kJ/mol with R2≥99.5 and 73.7,71.3,and 81.6 kJ/mol with R2≥99.9 for L-,b-,and a-value in hot air velocity of 0.6,1.3,and 2 m/s,***:Activation energy of chlorophylls and xanthophylls degradation were in the range of the activation energy for the yellowness(b-value)and redness(a-value)reactions.

The identification of jets originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses performed at the Large Hadron Collider,as Standard model measurements and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gluon over jets from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other combines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and simulation are provided for jets with transverse momentum between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for multiple tagger working points.

The prodigious advancements in contemporary technologies have also brought in the situation of unprecedented ***,the pin-based security system is an inadequate mechanism for handling such a *** reason is that hackers use multiple strategies for evading security systems and thereby gaining access to private *** research proposes to deploy diverse approaches for authenticating and securing a connection amongst two devices/gadgets via sound,thereby disregarding the pins’manual ***,the results demonstrate that the proposed approaches outperform conventional pin-based authentication or QR authentication ***,a random signal is encrypted,and then it is transformed into a wave file,after which it gets transmitted in a short burst via the device’s ***,the other device/gadget captures these audio bursts through its microphone and decrypts the audio signal for getting the essential data for ***,this model requires two devices/gadgets with speakers and a microphone,and no extra hardware such as a camera,for reading the QR code is *** first module is tested with realtime data and generates high scores for the widely accepted accuracy metrics,including precision,Recall,F1 score,entropy,and mutual information(mI).Additionally,this work also proposes a module helps in a secured transmission of sensitive data by encrypting it over images and other *** steganographic module includes two-stage encryption with two different encryption algorithms to transmit data by embedding inside a *** encryption algorithms and their combinations are taken for this system to compare the resultant file *** these systems engender high accuracies and provide secure connectivity,leading to a sustainable communication ecosystem.

AIm To study the uptake, barriers and motivators of influen-za, pneumococcal, meningococcal and pertussis vaccines among members of public in Arabian Gulf *** A cross-sectional survey among the Gulf Cooperation Council(GCC) countries' residents. Data collected electronically through a smartphone app. The survey variables aimed to investigate the respondents' awareness about vaccines against influenza, pneumococcal, meningococcal and pertussis infections. Collected data concerning the respondents' socio-demographic characteristics, their perception toward vaccine uptake and the factors that motivate or demotivate them from taking influenza vaccine. The data were analysed statistically using the SPSS v.23.0. Differences in the characteristics of users from different countries were quantified through bivariate analysis. Other important variables and controlling factors were studied using logistic regression. RESULTS A total of 1812 respondents participated in the study. Their mean age was 27 years, 82% were male and 24% had ≥ 1 chronic diseases. The overall uptake of influenza vaccine was 17%(21% among "at risk" people) and ranged from 15% in Saudi Arabia to 24% in Qatar. Doctor's advice(23%) and a perception of having low body immunity(21%) were the main cited reasons for being vaccinated, whereas unawareness about the vaccine(43%) was the main barrier. The overall uptake of pneumococcal vaccine in the preceding three years was 22%(25% among "at risk" individuals) and ranged from 0% in Bahrain to 79% in Kuwait. The overall uptake of pertussis vaccine was 16%(31% among "vulnerable" people), and ranged from 7% in Saudi Arabia to 75% in Oman. The overall uptake of meningococcal vaccine was 20%(29% among the "at risk" people) and ranged from 3% in Oman to 50% in *** The vaccination uptake across GCC countries is suboptimal and varies widely across the countries. Further research is needed to unearth the reasons and formulate action plan.
