The development of a.relia.le green chemistry process for the biogenic synthesis of na.oma.eria.s is a. importa.t a.pect of current na.otechnology resea.ch. Silver na.opa.ticles (a.NPs) ha.e been used a. a.timicrobia. a.d disinfecta.t a.ents. However, there is limited informa.ion a.out its toxicity. Therefore, this study focused on the biosynthesis of a.NPs by the ba.terium Proteus mira.ilis a.d on determining its prelimina.y toxic effect on some a.pects of a.ima. physiology. a.green method for the synthesis of a.NPs using culture superna.a.t of Proteus mira.ilis ha. been developed in this study a.d the synthesized a.NPs were cha.a.terized by severa. techniques. The a.NPs showed a.ma.imum a.sorba.ce a. 445 nm on ultra.iolet-visible spectra. The presence of proteins wa. identified by Fourier tra.sform-infra.ed spectroscopy. The reduction of a.+ to elementa. silver wa. cha.a.terized by X-ra. spectroscopy a.a.ysis. The tra.smission electron microgra.h revea.ed the forma.ion of polydispersed na.opa.ticles of 5 - 45 nm. The a.NPs were eva.ua.ed for their toxic effect on pregna.t fema.e a.bino ra.. The result showed tha. liver enzymes (a.T a.d a.P) were decrea.ed significa.tly in the group trea.ed with a.NPs. Mea. corpuscula. hemoglobin concentra.ion a.so showed significa.t increa.e.
