Moringa oleifera leaf ethanol extract ameliorates lead-induced hepato-nephrotoxicity in rabbits

Objective: To evaluate the effect of Moringa oleifera leaf ethanol extract as an adjunct treatment on lead acetate induced hepatonephrotoxicity in rabbits. Methods: Thirty-six male New Zealand White rabbits were assigned into two main groups. The first group(14 rabbits) served as normal control. The second group(22 rabbits) was administered orally with lead acetate at a dose of 40 mg/kg/day, 5 days/week for 8 weeks. At the 4 th and the 8 th week of treatment, 6 animals(3 animals at each period) of the second group were sacrificed while the remaining animals(16 rabbits) were assigned randomly into 2 subgroups(8 rabbits each): treated and non-treated. The first subgroup was orally given 1 m L phosphate-buffered saline for further 4 weeks while the second subgroup was administered orally with Moringa oleifera leaf ethanol extract at a dose of 400 mg/kg/day for the same period. Blood samples were collected to determine hematological and serum biochemical indices. Tissue specimens were collected from the liver and kidney for evaluation of the oxidant/antioxidant markers and for histopathological ***: Lead acetate exposure decreased the mean body weight gain, hematocrit, hemoglobin, mean corpuscular volume, and lymphocytes count. Moreover, it markedly increased counts of monocytes and platelets, serum enzyme activity, levels of creatinine, total cholesterol, triglycerides, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol. Malondialdehyde level was markedly increased while the reduced glutathione content was significantly decreased in liver tissue of lead intoxicated-rabbits. Histopathological alterations were also noticed in the liver and kidney of lead intoxicated rabbits. Moringa oleifera leaf ethanol extract significantly improved hematological and serum biochemical parameters and histopathological structure of the liver and kidney. BACKGROUND Hepatitis C virus(HCV),hepatitis B virus(HBV),and human immunodeficiency virus 1(HIV-1)are the most epidemic blood-borne viruses,posing threats to human health and causing economic losses to nations for combating the infection *** diagnostic methodologies that depend on the detection of viral nucleic acids are much more expensive,but they are more accurate than sero-logical *** To develop a rapid,cost-effective,and accurate diagnostic multiplex polymerase chain reaction(PCR)assay for simultaneous detection of HCV,HBV,and *** The design of the proposed PCR assay targets the amplification of a short conserved region featured with a distinguishable melting profile and electro-phoretic molecular weight inside each viral ***,this diagnostic method will be appropriate for application in both conventional(combined with electrophoresis)and real-time PCR *** in silico investigations were conducted to prove the capability of the approached PCR assay to detect variants of each ***,Egyptian isolates of each virus were subjected to the wet lab examination using the given diagnostic *** The in silico investigations confirmed that the PCR primers can match many viral variants in a multiplex PCR *** wet lab experiment proved the efficiency of the assay in distinguishing each viral type through high-resolution melting *** to related published assays,the proposed assay in the current study is more sensitive and competitive with many expensive PCR *** This study provides a simple,cost-effective,and sensitive diagnostic PCR assay facilitating the detection of the most epidemic blood-borne viruses;this makes the proposed assay promising to be substitutive for the mistakable and cheap serological-based assays.

Efficiency of Bio-Fertilizing as One of the Natural Alternatives to Improve the Growth of Khaya senegalensis and Swietenia mahagoni Trees and for Sustainability

A field experiment was carried out at Ismailia Research Station, Ismailia Governorate from 2020-2022 to improve the growth of Khaya senegalensis and Swietenia mahagoni by using a combination of mineral fertilizer (NPK) and biological fertilizer (Azotobacter chroococcum, Bacillus megatherium, and Bacillus circulant) as recommended dose under new sandy soils conditions. Split plot designed with four treatments (Control, (50% Mineral fertilizer (M.) + 50% Biological fertilizer (Bio.)), 100% M. and 100% Bio.) of each species. Vegetative growth, leaf area, tree biomass, stored carbon, basal area, tree volume, and in the soil both of microbial account and mineral content were determined. The experimental results showed no significant differences between studied species among the most studied parameters except for Khaya senegalensis which gave the highest significant difference in root biomass and below-stored carbon than Swietenia mahagoni. Evidently, the highest significant growth parameters were 100% mineral fertilizer followed by (50% M. + 50% Bio.) as compared with control. No significant difference between 100% M. and (50% M. + 50% Bio.) of shoot dry biomass (15.19 and 12.02 kg, respectively) and above-stored carbon (0.28 and 0.22 Mt, respectively). Microbial account and mineral content in soil were improved after cultivation of tree species compared to before planting and control, especially with 50% mineral fertilizer and 50% bio-fertilizer treatment. In conclusion, a treatment containing 50% mineral fertilizer and 50% bio-fertilizer has led to the ideal Khaya senegalensis and Swietenia mahagoni growth in sandy soil for cheaper and sustainable.

The existing radio access network(RAN)is facing many challenges to meet the very strict speed and latency requirements by different mobile applications in addition to the increasing pressure to reduce operating *** and development in RAN have been accelerated to tackle these challenges and to define how next generation mobile networks should look *** role of machine learning(ML)and artificial intelligence(AI)driven innovations within the RAN domain is strengthening and attracting lots of attention to tackle many of the challenging *** this paper we surveyed RAN network base stations(BSs)clustering and its applications in the *** paper also demonstrates how to leverage community detection algorithms to understand underlying community structures within *** areas(TAs)novel framework was developed by adapting existing community detection algorithm to solve the problem of statically partitioning a set of BSs into TA according to mobility ***,live network dataset in dense urban part of Cairo is used to assess how the developed framework is used to partition this part of the network more efficiently compared to other clustering *** obtained showed that the new methodology saved up to 34.6%of inter TA signaling overhead and surpassing other conventional clustering algorithms.

Investigation of charge transfer complexes formed between 3,3′-dimethylbenzidine (o-toluidine) donor and DDQ, p-chloranil and TCNQ as π-acceptors

Charge-transfer (CT) complex of o-toluidine (o-tol) with the π-acceptor tetrachloro-p-benzoquinone (p-chloranil; CHL) has been synthesized and characterized, along with the products of the elimination reaction of o-toluidine (o-tol) with 2,3-dichloro-5,6dicyano-p-benzoquinone (DDQ) and 7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ). Their properties and structures have been investigated using electronic absorption and IR spectroscopy as well as elemental analyses of the isolated compounds. The o-tol/p-CHL CT complex is shown to consist of a CHL radical anion and o-tol + radical cation. The formations of all three compounds result in the appearance of new UV-Vis spectral bands that peaked in intensity at a stoichiometric ratio of 1 : 1. 1 H-NMR and mass spectra were used to confirm the formation of the o-tol/DDQ and o-tol/TCNQ products. The new 7,8-dicyano-7′,8′-o-toluidilequinodimethane and 2,3-dichloro-5-cyano-6-o-toluidil-p-benzoquinone products resulted from the rapid reaction of o-tol with TCNQ and DDQ, respectively. Thermogravimetric studies showed that the CT-complex decomposes in three steps whereas the new compounds decompose in a single step. Thermodynamic parameters were computed from the thermal decomposition data.

Immunomodulatory effect of garlic oil extract on Schistosoma mansoni infected mice

Objective:To assess the effect potency,and the immunomodulatory response of garlic oil extract in enhancing the host's immune system against the disorders caused by Schistosoma mamoni(***) in mice at different stages of worm ***:A total of 70 male CD-I Swiss albino mice were divided into 7 *** Ⅰ:healthy *** Ⅱ:garlic oil group orally administrating 100 mg garlic oil extract /kg ***.3 d a week for 6 *** Ⅲ:infected with *** cercariae and left untreated for 42 *** Ⅳ:treated with garlic oil extract from day 1 to day 7 post infection(PI).Group Ⅴ:treated with garlic oil extract from day 14 till day 21 *** Ⅵ:administrating garlic oil extract from day 35 until day 42 *** Ⅶ received oil extract from the first day of infection for 42 ***:Garlic oil extract showed changes in the parasite tegument with a significant decrease in worm burden,hepatic and intestinal ova count with a decline in granuloma number and *** alterations were accompanied with a reduction in serum TNF- α,ICAM-1,IgG and IgM after 7 and 42 d post *** cercarial ***:Results obtained confirmed the effect of garlic oil extract on the larval and mature stage of the parasite and in enhancing the host's immune system against the disorders caused by *** in mice.

Enhanced Heap-Based Optimizer Algorithm for Solving Team Formation Problem

Team Formation(TF)is considered one of the most significant problems in computer science and *** is defined as forming the best team of experts in a social network to complete a task with least *** real-world problems,such as task assignment,vehicle routing,nurse scheduling,resource allocation,and airline crew scheduling,are based on the TF *** has been shown to be a Nondeterministic Polynomial time(NP)problem,and high-dimensional problem with several local optima that can be solved using efficient approximation *** paper proposes two improved swarm-based algorithms for solving team formation *** first algorithm,entitled Hybrid Heap-Based Optimizer with Simulated Annealing Algorithm(HBOSA),uses a single crossover operator to improve the performance of a standard heap-based optimizer(HBO)*** also employs the simulated annealing(SA)approach to improve model convergence and avoid local minima *** second algorithm is the Chaotic Heap-based Optimizer Algorithm(CHBO).CHBO aids in the discovery of new solutions in the search space by directing particles to different regions of the search *** HBO’s optimization process,a logistic chaotic map is *** performance of the two proposed algorithms(HBOSA)and(CHBO)is evaluated using thirteen benchmark functions and tested in solving the TF problem with varying number of experts and ***,the proposed algorithms were compared to well-known optimization algorithms such as the Heap-Based Optimizer(HBO),Developed Simulated Annealing(DSA),Particle SwarmOptimization(PSO),GreyWolfOptimization(GWO),and Genetic Algorithm(GA).Finally,the proposed algorithms were applied to a real-world benchmark dataset known as the Internet Movie Database(IMDB).The simulation results revealed that the proposed algorithms outperformed the compared algorithms in terms of efficiency and performance,with fast convergence to the global minimum.

Background:MicroRNAs(miRs)are small(19–25 nucleotides),non-protein coding RNAs that regulate gene expression,and thus play essential roles in cell cycle *** evidence has demonstrated that the expression of several miRs is dysregulated in human ***:The study includes 179 female patients and 58 healthy women Patients were identiﬁed as luminal A,B,Her-2/neu,and basal-like,as well as classiﬁed into I,II,and III *** of the expression fold change of miR-21 and miR-34a with molecular markers,including the oncogene Bcl-2(B-cell lymphoma 2)and the tumor suppressor genes BRCA1(breast cancer susceptibility gene 1),BRCA2(breast cancer susceptibility gene 2),and the tumor suppressor protein p53,was carried out for all patients,pre-and post-chemotherapy,and for all healthy ***:At diagnosis(pre-chemotherapy),miR-21 was up-regulated(p<0.001),while miR-34a was down-regulated(p<0.001).Post-chemotherapy,the expression of miR-21 decreased signiﬁcantly(p<0.001),while the expression of miR-34a increased signiﬁcantly(p<0.001).Conclusion:miR-21 and miR-34a may be helpful to non-invasive biomarkers to evaluate the response of breast cancer to chemotherapy.

实现经济增长和发展被认为是最不发达国家和发展中国家的核心目标,因此各国试图通过最优的宏观经济政策和不同的战略,获得足够的资金来实现这一目标。各国更喜欢其他负担和成本较低的机制来实现经济增长,如外国直接投资流动。世界银行和国际货币基金组织等国际开发性机构建议并考虑外国直接投资流动是现代技术转移、管理和技术诀窍的最重要因素,这在贫穷国家的地方投资项目中是必不可少的,因此外国直接投资代表了最佳的外部增长来源。本研究的目的是解释外商直接投资对吉布提经济增长的影响。为了实现这一目标,本研究采用了普通最小二乘法(OLS)计算的1985-2016年二次年度时间序列数据。研究结果表明,以吉布提为例的外商直接投资对吉布提经济增长影响不大,影响有限,建议政府重新审视其经济政策法规,创造有利环境,吸引更多的外商直接投资进入吉布提。
