This work aims to implement expert and collaborative group recommendation services through an analysis of expertise and network relations NTIS. First of all, expertise database has been constructed by extracting keywords after indexing national R＆D information in Korea （human resources, project and outcome） and applying expertise calculation algorithm. In consideration of the characteristics of national R＆D information, weight values have been selected. Then, expertise points were calculated by applying weighted values. In addition, joint research and collaborative relations were implemented in a knowledge map format through network analysis using national R＆D information.

AIM:To investigate the association of axial length(AL)and ocular factors on AL ***:A retrospective chart review of patients who underwent two or more AL examinations for more than two *** 4 groups were divided according to initial AL(<24 mm,24-26 mm,26-28 mm,≥28 mm).Initial fundus photograph was used to find risk factors associated AL ***:The mean age of the patients was 47.21±7.79 *** remained almost unchanged in the groups with AL<24 mm and 24≤AL<26 *** the contrary,AL increased by 0.011 mm/y in the group with 26≤AL<28 mm and 0.035 mm/y in the group with AL≥28 mm(P<0.001).In high myopia,AL elongation increased in eye with longer AL(r=0.003,P=0.024),female gender(r=0.014,P=0.019),eye with larger peripapillary chorioretinal atrophic area(r=0.002,P=0.019),and smaller vascular arcade angle(r=-0.004,P=0.006).The risk of elongation 0.03 mm/y in high myopia was increased in female gender(P=0.040),and gradually increased in eye with large peripapillary chorioretinal atrophy area(P<0.01).CONCLUSION:AL elongate significantly in the eye with longer AL,female gender,and the eye with larger atrophic area and smaller arcade angle on fundus photography.

BACKGROUND: The use of prophylactic antibiotics before endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP) is recommended by all major international gastroenterological societies, especially in the presence of an obstructed biliary system. This study compared the occurrence rate of post-procedural complications, including cholangitis and septicemia between prophylactic intravenous moxifloxacin and ceftriaxone in patients with bile duct obstruction scheduled for therapeutic ***: From November 2013 to July 2015, 86 consecutive patients with biliary obstruction with one or more factors predicting benefits of antibiotic prophylaxis prior to ERCP were included in the current randomized open-label non-inferiority trial(Clinical *** identifier NCT02098486). Intravenous moxifloxacin(400 mg/day) or ceftriaxone(2 g/day)were given 90 minutes before ERCP, and were administered for more than 3 days if the patient developed symptoms and signs of cholangitis or septicemia. Recalcitrant cholangitis was defined as persistence of cholangitis for more than 5 days after ERCP or recurrence of cholangitis within 30 days after ***: Recalcitrant cholangitis occurred in 1(2.3%) and 2(4.8%) patients receiving intravenous moxifloxacin and ceftriaxone group, respectively(P=0.612). Septicemia was noted in1(2.3%) and 1(2.4%) patient in intravenous moxifloxacin and ceftriaxone group, respectively(P=1.0). The mean hospital stay was also not significantly different between the moxifloxacin and ceftriaxone groups(8.8±7.2 vs 9.1±9.4 days, P=0.867). Antibiotic resistance of the isolated pathogens by in vitro activity assay was noted in 1(2.3%) and 2(4.8%) patients in the moxifloxacin and ceftriaxone group, respectively(P=0.612). CONCLUSION: Intravenous moxifloxacin is not inferior to intravenous ceftriaxone for the prophylactic treatment of post-ERCP cholangitis and cholangitis-associated morbidity.

The roles of E-cadherin and α-catenin were evaluated in the development of varicocele-induced infertility. Analysis of the association between the expression of E-cadherinla-catenin and clinical/pathological parameters was performed. Thirty lO-week-old male rats （experimental group） were used for the experiments; the left renal vein was ligated to form a varicocele. The abdomen was incised in 30 rats （control group） and no procedure was performed on 10 rats （baseline group）. The weights of the left testis, serum reactive oxygen species （ROS）, testosterone, luteinizing hormone （LH）, follicle-stimulating hormone （FSH） and degenerative changes in the seminiferous tubules after 4 and 8 weeks were recorded. The expression of E-cadherin and α-catenin was evaluated by immunohistochemical （IHC） staining and Western blot analysis. The ROS increased in the 8-week experimental group, compared with the baseline and control groups （P〈0.001 for both）. Additionally, FSH significantly increased in the 4- and 8-week experimental group compared with the control groups （P= 0.013 and P= 0.032, respectively）. The ratio of degenerative changes in the seminiferous tubules of the experimental groups increased. The IHC staining showed that the expression of E-cadherin and a-catenin decreased in the 4- and 8-week experimental groups. Similar to the IHC staining, the experimental group had decreased reactivity on Western blot analysis. The expression of E-cadherin and a-catenin was significantly associated with the ROS and degenerative changes in the seminiferous tubules. The results of this study suggest that damage to the blood-testis barrier （BTB） is associated with varicocele-induced male infertility, and that ROS may cause damage to the BTB.

AIM:To develop a novel endoscopic severity model of intestinal Behcet's disease(BD) and to evaluate its feasibility by comparing it with the actual disease activity index for intestinal Behcet's disease(DAIBD).METHODS:We reviewed the medical records of 167 intestinal BD patients between March 1986 and April *** also investigated the endoscopic parameters including ulcer locations,distribution,number,depth,shape,size and margin to identify independent factors associated with *** endoscopic severity model was developed using significant colonoscopic variables identified by multivariate regression analysis and its correlation with the DAIBD was *** determine factors related to the discrepancy between endoscopic severity and clinical activity,clinical characteristics and laboratory markers of the patients were ***:A multivariate regression analysis revealed that the number of intestinal ulcers(≥ 2,P = 0.031) and volcanoshaped ulcers(P = 0.001) were predictive factors for the *** endoscopic severity model(Y) was developed based on selected endoscopic variables as follows:Y = 47.44 + 9.04 × non-Ileocecal area + 11.85 ×≥ 2 of intestinal ulcers + 5.03 × shallow ulcers + 12.76 × deep ulcers + 4.47 × geographicshaped ulcers + 26.93 × volcano-shaped ulcers + 8.65 ×≥ 20 mm of intestinal ***,endoscopic parameters used in the multivariate analysis explained only 18.9% of the DAIBD *** with severe DAIBD scores but with moderately predicted disease activity by the endoscopic severity model had more symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome(21.4% vs 4.9%,P = 0.026) and a lower rate of corticosteroid use(50.0% vs 75.6%,P = 0.016) than those with severe DAIBD scores and accurately predicted disease by the ***:Our study showed that the number of intestinal ulcers and volcano-shaped ulcers were predictive factors for severe DAIBD ***,the correlation between endoscopic severity and DAIBD(r = 0.434) was weak.

We present UBVI surface photometry over a 20.5' × 20.5' area of the late-type spiral galaxy NGC 300. We have derived isophotal maps, surface brightness profiles, ellipticity profiles, position angle profiles, and color profiles. By merging our I-band measurements with those of Boker et al. based on Hubble Space Telescope observations, we have obtained combined I-band surface brightness profiles for the region 0.02' < r < 500' and have decomposed the profiles into three components: a nucleus, a bulge, and an exponential disk.

Surface plasmon enhancement of photoluminescence in photo-chemically synthesized graphene quantum dot and Au nanosphere

Graphene quantum dots （GQDs） are promising candidates for potential applications such as novel optoelectronic devices and bio-imaging. However, insufficient light absorption to exhibit their intriguing characteristics. The strong confinement of light caused by the Au nanoparticles as an antenna can considerably boost the light absorption. With the assistance of ultraviolet irradiation, we prepared bluish-green luminescent nanospheres by the hybridiza- tion of GQD and Au nanoparticles （GQD/Au）. These nanospheres showed a photoluminescence quantum yield of up to 26.9%. The GQD/Au nanospheres were synthesized using a solution of GQDs and HAuC14 by a photochemical method with the reduction of GQDs and the formation of metallic Au. The GQDs and Au nanopartides self-assembled and aggregated into nanospheres via aurophilicity and hydrogen bonding interactions. The average size of the GQD/Au nanospheres was found to be in the range of 150-170 nm, which is much larger than that of the pristine GQDs （4-7 nm）. The GQD/Au nanospheres exhibited an absorption band at 541 nm, which indicates the presence of Au in the nanospheres. The typical absorbance features of GQDs were observed near 236 and 303 nrn. The photoluminescence characteristics were investigated using the excitation and emission spectra. The GQD/Au nanospheres exhibited two emission peaks at 468 and 529 nm in the visible range. The green fluorescent peak located at 529 nm was newly generated by the hybridization. The GQD/Au nanospheres showed an emission efficiency which was two times more than that of the intrinsic GQDs. The reason for this increase was the surface plasmon resonance from the Au particles, which improved the fluorescence property of the resulting nanospheres. These nanospheres can be perceived as outstanding candidates for applications such as displays, optoelectronic devices, and imaging of the biological samples with high emission intensity.

BACKGROUND Micrococcus luteus(***)-induced endophthalmitis is very rare and and may present as either acute or chronic postoperative *** aim of this study was to report a case of delayed-onset ***-induced endophthalmitis that occurred several months after cataract *** SUMMARY A 78-year-old man presented with decreased vision,pain and redness in the right eye that had begun 3 days *** had undergone cataract surgery 4 mo *** acuity was counting fingers;slit-lamp examination revealed conjunctival injection,posterior corneal precipitates,anterior chamber inflammation(cell 4+),and *** examination revealed moderate vitreous *** vitrectomy was performed for suspected infectious endophthalmitis,followed by vitreous irrigation with injections of *** the postoperative day 1,anterior chamber cell decreased to 2+and hypopyon was not observed on slit lamp *** days postoperatively,the patient had recurrent eye pain,and the anterior chamber cell grade increased to 4+;hypopyon recurred in the anterior chamber,and whitish plaque was observed in the lens ***,the patient underwent intraocular lens(IOL)and lens capsule removal,followed by vitreous irrigation,antibiotics injection,and *** was identified from a lens capsule *** In cases of delayed-onset ***-induced endophthalmitis,early vitrectomy and removal of the IOL and lens capsule may be necessary.
