Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) employing formamidinium lead iodide (FAPbI_(3)) have shown high ***,operational stability has been issued due to phase instability of α phase FAPbI_(3) at ambient *** precursors in the perovskite precursor solution has been proposed to improve not only power conversion efficiency (PCE) but also device ***,there is a controversial issue on the beneficial effect on PCE and/or stability between excess FAI and excess PbI_(2).We report here extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) of FAPbI_(3) to study local structural change and explain the effect of excess precursors on photovoltaic performance and *** films prepared from the precursor solution with excess PbI_(2)shows better stability than those from the one with excess FAI,despite similar PCE.A rapid phase transition from α phase to non-perovskite δ phase is observed from the perovskite film formed by excess ***,the (Pb-I) bond distance evaluated by the Pb L_(III)-edge EXAFS study is increased by excess FAI,which is responsible for the phase transition and poor device *** work can provide important insight into local structure-stability relation in the FAPbI_(3)-based PSCs.

Lead halide perovskite solar cells(PSCs)have been considered one of the most promising candidates for future energy supply,whereas just solar cell does not guarantee *** to the ionic nature and constituent heavy metals,perovskite materials are prone to decay under operating conditions and pose a threat to ecosystems and human health,seriously restricting their practical ***,we briefly review safe-by-design strategies to heal failed PSCs and thereby extend their operational lifetime and to recycle lead perovskites at the end of their lifespan for cyclic *** the point of view of processability,scalability,and universality,we recommend future approaches for the further development of PSCs towards sustainable photovoltaics,taking into consideration materials selection,device design,and process optimization.

Effect of annealing temperature, time of nanocrystalline TiO2film on porosity, electron transport/recombination and photovoltaic performance on dyesensitized solar cell（DSSC） had been investigated in this article. Photocurrent density was slightly higher as annealing at 550°C compared to those of annealing at 450°C and 500°C under the given annealing time of 60 min, which was correlated with the amount of adsorbed dye. Thermogravimetric analysis showed there was a more weight loss between 500°C and 550°C, which revealed there were more sites for dye adsorption. Given the annealing temperature of 550°C, as annealing time varied from 60 to 90 and 120 min, results showed that the average size of pore and surface area decreased with longer annealing time, which deteriorated photocurrent density due to less dye loading. Electron diffusion rate remained almost unchanged regardless of annealing ***, electron recombination was influenced by annealing condition, it became slower with the increase of the annealing temperature under the given annealing time. In the contray, the electron recombination developed faster for the longer annealing time at a given annealing temperature. These results suggested that heat treatment of TiO2film at 550°C for 60 min in air would be the optimal annealing condition to achieve high efficiency DSSC.

Halide perovskite single crystals(SCs)have attracted much attention for their application in high-performance x-ray detectors owing to their desirable properties,including low defect density,high mobility–lifetime product(μτ),and long carrier diffusion ***,suppressing the inherent defects in perovskites and overcoming the ion migration primarily caused by these defects remains a *** study proposes a facile process for dipping Cs0.05FA0.9MA0.05PbI3 SCs synthesized by a solution-based inverse temperature crystallization method into a 2-phenylethylammonium iodide(PEAI)solution to reduce the number of defects,inhibit ion migration,and increase x-ray *** to conventional spin coating,this simple dipping process forms a two-dimensional PEA2PbI4 layer on all SC surfaces without further treatment,effectively passivating all surfaces of the inherently defective SCs and minimizing ion *** a result,the PEAI-treated perovskite SC-based x-ray detector achieves a record x-ray sensitivity of 1.3×10^(5)μC Gyair^(-1) cm^(-2) with a bias voltage of 30 V at realistic clinical dose rates of 1–5 mGy s^(-1)(peak potential of 110 kVp),which is 6 times more sensitive than an untreated SC-based detector and 3 orders of magnitude more sensitive than a commercialα-Se-based ***,the PEAI-treatedperovskite SC-based x-ray detector exhibits a low detection limit(73 nGy s^(-1)),improved x-ray response,and clear x-ray images by a scanning method,highlighting the effectiveness of the PEAI dipping approach for fabricating next-generation x-ray detectors.

For a development procedure of an LWR fuel assembly, the accomplishment of a performance target must be verified through out-of-pile tests of a fuel assembly and its components. KAERI constructed a test facility to measure and analyze the pressure loss, the lift force, the flow induced vibration and the fretting wears as well as to verify the compatibility of difference fuel assemblies in a transient reactor core. This test facility of the fuel assemblies is named PLUTO from Performance Test Facility for Fuel Assembly Hydraulics and Vibrations. The design pressure and temperature of the PLUTO are 4 MPa, and 250 oC, and the maximum operating conditions are 3.5 MPa and 210 oC, respectively. The primary circulation loop consists of the main circulation pumps, two test sections, and an expansion tank, a main heat exchanger and auxiliary systems. Flow in the loop is provided by 4 non-seal canned motor pumps in a parallel arrangement, and maximum flow rate is 1400 m3/hr. This paper briefly introduces the PLUTO facility and reports the comprehensive verification results.

Using a simple damped slab model, it was possible to show that a local wind induced 88% （15 of 17） of the near-inertial oscillations （NIO） observed in the mixed layer near the east coast of Korea from 1999 to 2004. The model, however, overestimated the energy level in about two-thirds of the simulated cases, because the slab model was forced with winds whose characteristic period was shorter than the damping time scale of the model at 1.5 d. At the observation site, due to typhoons and orographic effects, high-frequency wind forcing is quite common, as is the overestimation of the energy level in the slab model results. In short, a simple slab model with a damping time-scale of about 1.5 d would be enough to show that the local wind was the main energy source of the near-inertial energy in this area, but the model could not be used to accurately estimate the amount of the work done by the wind to the mixed layer.

Graphene nanostructures with complex geometries have been widely explored for plasmonic applications,as their plasmonic resonances exhibit high spatial confinement and gate ***,edge effects in graphene and the narrow range over which plasmonic resonances can be tuned have limited the use of graphene in optical and optoelectronic *** we present a novel approach to achieve mechanically reconfigurable and strongly resonant plasmonic structures based on crumpled *** calculations show that mechanical reconfiguration of crumpled graphene structures enables broad spectral tunability for plasmonic resonances from mid-to nearinfrared,acting as a new tuning knob combined with conventional electrostatic ***,a continuous sheet of crumpled graphene shows strong confinement of plasmons,with a high near-field intensity enhancement of~1×10^(4).Finally,decay rates for a dipole emitter are significantly enhanced in the proximity of finite-area biaxially crumpled graphene *** findings indicate that crumpled graphene provides a platform to engineer graphenebased plasmonics through broadband manipulation of strong plasmonic resonances.

Aqueous Zn-ion batteries （AZIBs） have received considerable attention owing to their various advantages such as safety,low cost,simple battery assembly conditions,and high ionic ***,they still suffer from serious problems,including uncontrollable dendrite growth,corrosion,hydrogen evolution reaction （HER） from water decomposition,electrode passivation,and unexpected *** creation of a uniform artificial nanocrystal layer on the Zn anode surface is a promising strategy for resolving these ***,we propose the use of a perovskite CaTiO3（CTO） protective layer on Zn（CTO@Zn） as a promising approach for improving the performance of *** CTO artificial layer provides an efficient pathway for Zn ion diffusion towards the Zn metal because of the high dielectric constant （εr=180） and ferroelectric characteristics that enable the alignment of dipole moments and redistribute the Zn2+ions in the CTO *** avoiding the direct contact of the Zn anode with the electrolyte solution,the uneven dendrite growth,corrosion,parasitic side reactions,and HER are mitigated,while CTO retains its mechanical and chemical robustness during ***,CTO@Zn demonstrates an improved lifespan in a symmetric cell configuration compared with bare ***@Zn shows steady overpotential （～68 m V） for 1500 h at 1 mA cm-2/0.5 mA h cm-2,excelling bare ***,when paired with the V2O5-C cathode,the CTO@Zn//V2O5-C full battery delivers 148.4 mA h g-1（based on the mass of the cathode） after 300 *** study provides new insights into Zn metal anodes and the development of high-performance AZIBs.

Many approaches to neurodegenerative diseases that focus on amyloid-βclearance and gene therapy have not been *** therapeutic applications focus on enhancing neuronal cell survival during the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases,including mitochondrial *** membrane(PM)redox enzymes are crucial in maintaining cellular physiology and redox homeostasis in response to mitochondrial *** phytochemicals are known to induce the expression of detoxifying enzymes under stress *** this study,mechanisms of neuroprotective effects of 4-hydroxycinnamic acid(HCA)were examined by analyzing cell survival,levels of abnormal proteins,and mitochondrial functions in two different neuronal *** protected two neuronal cells exhibited high expression of PM redox enzymes and the consequent increase in the NAD^(+)/NADH *** cultured with HCA showed delayed apoptosis and decreased oxidative/nitrative damage accompanied by decreased ROS production in the *** increased the mitochondrial complexes I and II activities and ATP ***,HCA increased mitochondrial fusion and decreased mitochondrial ***,HCA maintains redox homeostasis and energy metabolism under oxidative/metabolic stress *** findings suggest that HCA could be a promising therapeutic approach for neurodegenerative diseases.
