Alkaline metals and hydrogen titanates are of great interest for possible applications. The qualities of soda ash and Rosetta ilmenite ore concentrate pellets were investigated. The kinetic formation of sodium titanate via roasting of soda ash and ilmenite pellets and powder was studied in the temperature range of 800。C to 900。C.

Background: Although non-specific, transabdominal bowel ultrasonography, in real time or in color Doppler;has been beneficial in evaluating the location, extent and activity of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Aim: To assess the potential role of bowel transabdominal bowel ultrasonography in the diagnosis and follow-up of IBD. Patients and methods: A cohort of 30 adults histologically-proven active IBD patients;ulcerative colitis (UC) (n = 20), Crohn’s disease (CD) (n = 10) were prospectively assessed in addition to 20 non-IBD participants representing the control group. All participants underwent the full colonoscopy in addition to real time and color Doppler ultrasonography. Bowel wall thickness, peri-enteric changes, and hemodynamic changes in the portal vein and mesenteric arteries were recorded at initial enrollment and after complete remission in 10 IBD patients. Seven transition metal complexes of mn2+, Ni2+, Co2+, Cu2+ and Zn2+ with 3-aminopyridine (3-APy) as ligand have been synthesized, characterized by different techniques and their antibacterial activities were studied. molecular modeling calculations were performed using DmOL3 program in materials studio package which is designed for the realization of large scale density functional theory calculation (DFT). The quantum mechanical and chemical reactivity parameters such as chemical hardness, chemical potential, electronegativity, electrophilicity index and Homo-Lumo energy gap were obtained theoretically and were used to understand the biological activity of the prepared compounds. Some complexes were tested for their in-vitro cytotoxic activity in human lung cancer cell lines (A-549 cell line), and structureactivity relationships were established. In general, the coordination to Co2+ increased the cytotoxicity while the Ni2+ complexes show reduced cytotoxic activity compared to the metal-free 3-aminopyridine.

Atrial myocardial Deformation Changes in Patients with Non-Valvular Atrial Fibrillation

Background: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common cardiac arrhythmia. It increases cardiovascular morbidity, especially embolic stroke and mortality. Two-dimensional speckle tracking echocardiography (2D STE) is a useful method that has been used to detect changes in atrial myocardial deformation in AF patients. Objectives: To study atrial myocardial deformation changes in patient with non-valvular AF using 2D STE. Patients and Methods: This study included 25 patients with non-valvular AF and 25 normal healthy controls. 2D STE was used for assessment of strain and strain rate of septal and free walls of both right atrium (RA) and LA and left ventricle (LV). Results: Mean LA septal and lateral strain and strain rate were significantly reduced in the AF group compared to the control group (-7.2% ± 5.2% vs. -20.4% ± 3.9%, -8.7% ± 8.8% vs. -21.7% ± 3.4%) and (-0.9 ± 0.5 S-1 vs. -1.9 ± 0.4 S-1, –1.1 ± 0.6 S-1 vs. -2.04 ± 0.3 S-1) respectively. mean RA septal and lateral strain and strain rate were significantly reduced in the AF group compared to the control group (-5.9% ± 6.1% vs. -23.4% ± 4.5%, -8.9% ± 9.3% vs. -21.7% ± 3.4%) and (-0.98 ± 0.6 S-1 vs. -1.9 ± 0.3 S-1, -1.3 ± 0.9 S-1 vs. -2.1 ± 0.5 S-1) respectively. mea

Objective:To conduct a health risk assessment of some heavy metals attributed to consumption of common edible fish species available for ***:Concentrations of Cd,Cr,Cu,Fe,mn,Pb and Zn were determined in muscles,gills,livers,bones and skins of six common edible fish species,namely Oreochromis niloticus,mugil cephalus,Sardinella aurita,mullus barbatus,Boops boops,Pagrus *** of heavy metals were determined by atomic absorption spectrophotometer and expressed asμg/g of wet ***:Results showed that iron and zinc were the most abundant among all fish tissues under *** data obtained in the present work were compared well with the counterpart data reported *** estimated values of all metals in muscles of fish in this study were below the permissible ***,the potential health risks of metals to human via consumption of seafood were assessed by estimating daily intake and target heath ***,risk values for the measured metals do not pose unacceptable risks at mean ingestion rate for ***:It can be concluded that the investigated metals in edible parts of the examined species have no health problems for consumers.

Background and objectives: Although hepatoblastoma (HB) is a rare childhood tumor and constitutes only 0.9% of all pediatric cancers, there was an obvious improvement in risk stratification and prognosis over the last two decades. This study aimed to assess the outcome of HB patients treated in our center and to investigate the impact of different prognostic factors on the survival of these patients. Patients and methods: This was a retrospective study included newly diagnosed patients with HB presented to the Children Cancer Hospital Egypt (CCHE 57357), from July 2007 to June 2015. Patient’s data were analyzed for the clinical characteristics and survival outcome of the included patients. Results: One hundred twenty-four children were included during the study period with a median age of 14 months. The tumor was found occupying the entire liver in 25 patients (20%);while it was confined to one lobe in 80% of them, portal vein thrombosis was diagnosed in 10 patients, and there were 30 patients (24%) had metastatic disease at presentation. Only five patients (4%) underwent primary surgical excision, and all of them were grossly excised (stage I);77/119 (64.7%) experienced delayed surgery after two to six courses (median, four courses) of C5VD and the overall resection rate was 66%. There were 42 patients (35.3%) failed to do surgical excision either because they still had evident metastatic disease with poor chemotherapy response, or because their tumor remained unresectable after six courses of chemotherapy. The 3-year event-free and overall survivals for the whole studied patients were 45.7% (95% CI, 36.9% - 56.7%), and 66.7% (95% CI, 57.1% - 77.8%) respectively. The 3-year EFS and OS were significantly better in those who underwent surgical excision (68.63% and 80.74% respectively, P-value 0.001). Also, the survival rates were significantly affected by the presence of metastatic disease at presentation, tumor stage and initial risk grouping of the studied patients

Objectives:The motives that lead to nurses’workplace silence behaviour are essential to understand,as the failure to voice their concerns and maintain silence may cause various adverse outcomes,including burnout,turnover,job dissatisfaction,low productivity,and mental and moral *** study aimed to identify the level and influencing motives of the workplace silence behaviour among nurses at the National Guard Hospital in ***:A descriptive cross-sectional survey was conducted in January and February *** participants completed a questionnaire with two parts:the sociodemographic data form and the Workplace Silence Behavior Nursing motives *** analysis was performed by descriptive statistics and the chi-square ***:The overall level for all workplace silence behavior motives is moderate(3.29±0.69),with Avoidance motives dimension receiving the highest scores(3.62±0.75)and Organization-Oriented motives dimension receiving the lowest(3.15±0.86).Chi-square test showed that Saudi nationality(X^(2)=0.015,P=0.019)and monthly income(X^(2)=0.045,P?0.013)are factors in high-moderate levels of silence ***:The overall level of workplace silence behaviour motives was found to be moderate,nurses have higher monthly salaries and non-Saudi nationals tend to have higher levels of workplace silence behaviour *** study results provide a reference for nursing managers to pay attention to nurses’workplace silence behavior and take corresponding intervention measures.

This study deals with the inhibitory effects of dexamethsone on the proliferation of a human melanoma cell line in vitro. A retarded cell proliferation was observed in m-5A cells with the presence of specific high affinity glucocorticoid steroid receptors. There was a correlation between the number of glucococrticoid binding sites and the reduction of cell proliferation in term of reduced plating efficiency. Arrest or accumula- tion of m-5A cells in G1 phase or both in G1 and G2 phase appeared to be involved in the growth inhibitory effect by dexamethsone. The magnitude and duration of cell cycle arrest up to 72 hours were dose dependent. There was a correlation between the duration of the disturbance of the cell cycle progression in m-5A cells after dexamethsone treatment and the inhibition of cell proliferation. Synthesis of receptor protein was not specifically stimulated or inhibited relative to the effect on cellular protein content in general. This may conclude that in the melanoma m-5A cell, death after glucocorticoid treatment is somehow related to the glucocorticoid receptor content and to the disturbance of cell cycle distribution.
